  1. Waggott is clearly an incompetent idiot in defence mode but the most worrying thing is that our owners ie a real bunch of idiots who have never attempted or seemed to care about the local demographics are pushing for rises in prices.
  2. If you make the right additions you will likely find that there very much are teams that are succeptible to a battering. We beat Birmingham, Peterborough and Cardiff by 4 goals each at home with all 3 rolling over somewhat.
  3. Thanks @JoeH The comment about experience at Championship level or above is interesting. We do need experience so that is encouraging.
  4. The question is whether we have the money to compete with a team with a likely bigger budget. If they offer more money he would surely pick that over who the manager is.
  5. I have never said that he isn't up to it, just that we can't assume that he is.
  6. I am not getting into the debate about how many kids we can rely on etc but there is a lot of hypocrisy in you pulling me up for questioning loan spells in which our young strikers barely scored in massively inferior leagues considering the plethora of players you have suggested based on their stats or on the back of cleverly edited youtube videos!
  7. Relying on our academy players to fill so many gaps would be suicidal. You look at many of the loans signed here and elsewhere over the last few years and they are a very valid way of massively improving the quality of the side and making it competitive. You mention Burns, he scored 2 in 15 at Scunthorpe last season.
  8. They haven't been revamped as was initially expected and claimed to be necessary though, because they didn't want to fund it. So hard to credit them for standard maintenance.
  9. I don't, but I equally don't assume absolutely everything I read is 100% factual.
  10. No way was Mowbray first choice for West Brom and subsequently turned it down.
  11. Is that second one strictly true? The owners ended up not bothering to do what was seen as a necessary total revamp of the pitch. Point 1 surely shouldn't take 18 months to happen until the expiry of his contract either.
  12. Lots of claims of ITK info this morning, not much of it believable!
  13. You can't say without Brereton as even if he is sold, a huge amount of money is generated. There should also be more still from the Armstrong sale that was never reinvested. How could that possibly be established a couple of days into pre-season? And why is someone internal leaking that if that is indeed what you are implying?
  14. Work under competent, interested owners presumably, not that they would have appointed him. Presumably heavy budget cuts from the owners have had no impact.
  15. Im sure you said he was shit before he even had a run in the team but he looked sharp in the games at the end and he certainly didnt keep giving it away.
  16. Different kettle of fish in a different league with the best team in the league and we don't know how he will play there. Like to think he is more flexible than you give him credit for. Fact of the matter is that the director of football wanted him to stay and unfortunately we couldn't agree a deal. Difficult to find equal with no money coming in to replace him.
  17. All speculation, ultimately we can almost be sure that he will be on more there so I can understand him moving, especially as Boro seem more likely to push forward. If we offered him 10k a week then I am not surprised that he left but I would doubt it would be that low for our captain.
  18. How so? He is not going to start as Rodri is as good as you get in front of the back 4, so he is a very expensive squad player. And the fact that he won't start will not be good for him as an England player.
  19. Nice to hear but he wouldn't tell a supporter how shit everything is!
  20. Will you not be singing about what a greedy bastard he is too?
  21. But didn't Waggott say half way through last season that we had been trying to sign them all for at least 18 months prior? I am not saying that I trust Waggott with these negotiations but I think due to his incompetence in other areas that 100% can be directly attributed to him that he naturally lends himself to be blamed for everything. The wages players are on are total speculation as are their demands and how valued they feel but ultimately the shrinking of our budget has lent to a situation whereby our better players are picked off by clubs with more ambition/resources who have been direct competitors. The key factor is always money and its not in short supply because Waggott wants to look good, the money is what is given by the owners. I think the fee Oxford got for Rothwell was purely a nominal compensation fee due to his age at the time. I think Hedges and Brown are a bit different, the former had a few good games once he got a chance but also he was a regular key player at a top half Scottish Premier League team who regularly scored and assisted for a winger and has previously been capped by Wales. The latter has had one game in professional football and looked Chaddy's side doesn't look that bad aside from him but there are many further question marks, some of which you touch on. We are reliant on Dack now and he regularly played down any excitement over his return so I am surprised that he even made that team, he has to prove himself again unfortunately. Ayala as you say is always injured and Brereton will not be here next season. That leaves an onus on Gallagher who showed this season in Brereton's absence and across his Championship career that he is not a regular scorer or top striker at this level and Buckley has not played so deep so he would have to prove that he is capable. A overhaul required! I suspect that this is not actually going to happen but if it does, I suspect you'll be in a small minority if not on your own. How have you come to such a strong and firm conclusion already? How do you possibly know this? We still wanted to keep him as of last week when our director of football specifically said that he could be suited to Tomasson's style etc so it is not our choice to let him go. By the way, Bree may be out of contract but it is uncertain; Luton have a policy of not disclosing player contract lengths.
  22. Surely that would mean that threads for every non-Rovers thread or any game that has finished should be closed too? Or indeed people may want to discuss things outside specifically of just Rovers going forward?
  23. 10 minute segment on Tomasson here from 49 minutes. Analysis on him is mixed. Talk about his presence which ties in to the excitement from us since appointment. Also mentions of his coaching ability in regards to set pieces which is promising. Worries about his adaptation to a 46 game season from a 30 game season and also questions about how it became stale at Malmo in only season 2 and they limped over the line with his exit an inevitability.
