I dont doubt that we need to change manager but your naivety and lack of ability to learn from the past in regards to what will likely happen this summer baffles me, we arent an efficiently run club. I also think you underestimate the difficulty in getting a top 6 place under these owners with our comparative resources, it isnt impossible by any means but it would be a very good achievement. You thinking that a new manager just has to do what you have outlined (ignoring considerable selection differences Again, mediocrity, average, ok, bang in the middle on average, probably around or indeed just above our comparative wage budget. Could do better and time for a change but certainly could have done worse and not turgid (which im not sure even makes sense in that context) but by making silly comparisons to Kean and Coyle, youve very much nailed your colours to the mast.
-
Is "turgid" a fair (or indeed) accurate description of a Championship record of 2x 15th finishes, an 11th place finish and likely an 8th or 9th place finish over 4 years, with resources within that range, perhaps towards the lower end? No top 6, no relegation worries in any full seasons. Mediocre, ok, decent. Also, we shouldnt treat tomorrow as a dead rubber, its beyond a long shot but until its mathematically over, why just throw in the towel?

It cant be a situation whereby simply anyone where Mowbray will do, as much as he has to go. A win in the last 2 would be (I think this is right) the most wins in a Championship during the terrible Venkys area so he does understand how to win and cant be that unambitious. We need an improvement to take us forward, however those chances are about in line with our chances of somehow making the play offs under these terrible owners sadly.

It's the longest of long shots, less than a 1% chance, but I don't get the point in being so dismissive. -

I don't see us winning but these players seem to thrive on there being no pressure, Mowbray told the players that our chances were over (paraphrasing his post match comments) and to relax and it led to a 4-1 win. Why is Poveda in over Hedges and Davenport in over Rothwell? Even if both of the outs are injuries, they would be random choices to come in. -
Haha, absolutely obsessed/transfixed with a director of football being appointed above a head coach at every single club!
-
Duncan Ferguson would be purely because he runs around a lot on the touchline, which based on recent weeks does in fairness seem to be a commonly held necessary skill. Definitely wouldn't want him. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/20105026.blackburn-rovers-preparations-next-season-underway/ "if we did win the play-offs we wouldn’t be signing some of the players that we’re maybe looking at on free transfers and on a few grand a week." Doesn't scream of a Venkys masterplan incoming featuring investment.
-
I want him gone and have wanted him gone much more often than yourself. I was just dismissing the blatant lie that specifically this season that he has been backed, he hasn't. A club with our resources hindered by our owners would need to overachieve to get into the top 6, that shouldn't be forgotten, and one thing I do appreciate about Mowbray is the element of safety he provides, you are unlikely to underachieve with him and get dragged into a relegation fight. That being said, we should aim bigger, that can be achieved if things come together as has been proved by teams over the years and he isn't capable of pushing us on, so his departure is needed. It's the arrogance thinking that everything is easy and you are ahead of the curve that makes me laugh. Had we played the team suggested, it would not have won 4-1 regardless of formation with a total rookie at right back and Johnson barely able to move in central midfield.
-
Would you add a further £30 premium for the removal of Venkys, out of interest.
-
Massively backed is hyperbolic in the extreme. So being backed just means being able to bring in players at all, even just loans despite selling your 15m striker and allowing senior players to leave? That means every club in the world is backed by the owners. Its a good job he didnt listen to you before Preston otherwise the dynamism would have been swapped for Johnson lugging himself after Preston midfielders. Lots of reading between the lines then. That plan is not consistent with anything in the last 12 years.

The point is that Venkys dont do logic. Surely you think that the manager not hearing a peep regarding potential contract talks due to the usual silence is not acceptable? He has been financially backed including this season?! His main goalscorer was sold and none of the money was available to buy a striker, the taps are off. The resources he has had in general are often exaggerated and he is on course for an overall profit on the fees on his business assuming Brereton goes. Hes been a safe pair of hands who cant sustain a full season of overachievement to get us into the play offs so he cant take us forward. My point is that they never intended to visit, they dont care, it was to be expected. Why you keep justifying their negligence (you do the same about the big gap before making the manager fly to India) is beyond me. They are the reason this club cant properly progress. It is obviously the right time for Mowbray to go but firstly you seem to be under the impression naively that everything is down to a formation change to prove you are ahead of the curve even though your suggested team was considerably different. Also there is a way to do it and this isnt it, communicate constantly, be proactive, just not words Venkys are familiar with. Lets hope you are right and they have a competent manager lined up amidst a root and branch change in footballing structure, all to be done imminently after the season ends, with money invested. Youd be mad to expect it and it wont happen though.
-
We need someone who is suitably qualified rather than a kid just because of his surname to be in a position of genuine authority and power to make footballing decisions. This seemingly will never happen under Venkys yet some believe they genuinely have a plan that excites them.
-
Not from someone who is not remotely qualified and presumably wouldn't have the authority to make decisions anyway. I am not convinced that the main family will ever relinquish or delegate any of the power down.
-
Is that enough (being educated in the country) to potentially get a crucial job within our already incompetent footballing structure just because of who he is?
-
I think youll be shocked when very little if any of that happens under Venkys. The statement implied that Venkys will keep a keen interest concluding in attending a game this season.
-
The statue comment was from what I have seen from one poster being clearly sarcastic. Plan is a word that is alien to Venkys. We dont need statements, we need actions. They supposedly made a statement last summer and it turned out to be a load of bollocks.
-
Not annoyed on behalf of Mowbray, although he does deserve better in that he has tried his best for over 5 years and he at least deserves a bit of clarity and transparency. It isn't a way to run a football club, as you mention they just don't care. They are the problem and always have been.

I'm not sure about that, I don't rate Warburton, seems more like a sideways move to me. I suspect a QPR fan would presumably say the opposite, and a neutral would have them on par, at a guess. -
Again, more signs of the continuing shit show of a club that a Venkys owned Rovers represents, so sad. What is crazy is even recently, we have had numerous people defending them, some sucked in by made up plans, loads still think the club would die without them, the spotlight should be on them rather than the manager. Totally absent (their promised visit hasn't materialised) and totally disinterested, leaving a club that can never thrive under them. Anyone expecting an efficient look for a successor should Mowbray leave should think again. Regarding Mowbray, it will be a natural time for a change assuming we finish just outside the top 6. That in itself would be a good season but of course the second half collapse has been very poor. That said, some of the things that have been said about him in recent weeks and months have definitely over stepped the mark, comparisons to Kean and Coyle, calling him a dickhead etc, he would leave having done what I would say is a decent job, nothing less, and I certainly would hold no bad feeling towards him, people have even questioned his application and commitment which again is totally baseless, I feel like he has tried his best and has been a safe pair of hands but that only takes you so far. He has been here for 5 and a half seasons and radio silence from India is not what he deserves.

Often a lot of unnecessary focus on the referee. More of a worry is that 3 of Monday's team are carrying injuries, Gallagher, Hedges and Rothwell. Those in reserve would be inferior replacements. Dolan is usually ineffective, Poveda hasn't started a game for 6 months, Dack presumably won't be fit to start, Edun has been poor and Johnson is past it. -

Why? Swapping him for Mowbray would be like for like. -
He certainly is overrated by one or two, he (like basically all of all our players) isn't one of the very, very best at this level and talk of giving a player like him a send off perhaps shows how far we have fallen under Venkys! But he almost certainly will not be replaced with someone of equal quality, and he is our best full back, he certainly doesn't have the defensive deficiencies that Pickering has on the other side. Lenihan (even if he stayed, which he wont) certainly isn't the answer at right back over a period of time, technically very lacking so he wouldn't offer an attacking threat either. Of course the selection to have him at right back the other night was a very good one by the manager.
-
Why are people picking apart choices on the bench? The team selection was bang on yesterday just as it has been very much open to criticism when we have been losing. It doesnt matter which right back who wont be here next season remained as an unused sub. Had Zeefuik come on and made a mistake or took part in a negative result then fair enough.

Youve been very keen to make out that you knew things ahead of the curve but you had Bradley Johnson and James Brown starting!
