That doesnt have to mean defending most if not everything they do, avoiding or skirting around topics concerning the indefensible and making out that everything is good. -

To be fair, you often seem to skirt around and avoid where possible any threads in the immediate aftermath of big breaking negative stories, and then seem reluctant to criticise. You mention patience but its safe to say that not all of the signings we made will be good. Are there any that you are happy to suggest you dont like the look of? Or is it just a case of the one or two that look good, you see as positives and the rest just require more patience? -

At least you have been clear in your response regarding Ismael. They arent knee jerk reactions, certainly on the manager whose record of 6 wins, 3 draws and 11 losses is really poor. What have you seen that makes you think he is the man to take us forward? Obviously he isnt the main problem, we have a squad massively downgraded and full of players that clearly arent good enough, having lost a number of key players. Kargbo, De Neve, Henriksson, Tavares, an AWOL Baradji, perhaps Miller and Gudjohnsen, we have totally blown apart a good defence and still struggle to score goals. It all comes from the owners and then idiots like Suhail, Gestede and Owen running the club on their behalf. Would you agree that all 3 need to go? -

I presumed that Miroshita had picked up an injury yesterday to go off yesterday. He hadnt really got involved again but you can at least give him the ball without it bouncing off him like basically every other player bar Cantwell. Apaprently it was just a tactical decision to bring on Kargbo. A real masterstroke of a decision from our poor manager. -
2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
roversfan99 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It feels exactly like that season we nearly went down in terms of accumulating crap within a shallow squad. That season, we often had the likes of Ennis, Telalovic, Markanday etc on really poor benches and often didnt use all of our subs, or when we did they offered nothing. Now, its De Neve, Henriksson, Tavares, the invisible Baradji not even on the bench. Kargbo coming on and being appalling. Our starting 11 is poor but a subs bench has never been more important. Swansea really changed the game with their subs, used proactively and with one scoring the winner. That season, we had a few things in our favour compared to now. We had a buffer of points from under Tomasson, I think we were around 8th going into December. We obviously also had Szmodics scoring loads. And we didnt have the crap manager we have now. -
Definitely not an upgrade on Brittain.

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
roversfan99 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
A predictably disastrous summer window off the back of a dreadful January window. Alebiosu is a downgrade on Brittian but hes by far our most promising signing. Otherwise its pretty disastrous. Morishita has shown glimpses too but can go AWOL. The defensive situation is an undoubted disaster. We have gone from being solid to being all over the place. Miller looks poor especially at centre back where we have left ourself predictably short. McLoughlin doesnt look particularly good either. De Neve and Henriksson are clearly so far off it that even with players like Hedges starting every game, they dont come on (or tonight De Neve did purely for injury time) even if it means not using all of our subs. Even Kargbo gets selected before them and he is not only shit but bone idle. Gudjohnsen was very poor today. His record at his previous club was worrying and maybe he was a panic signing. We have signed a midfielder on loan with a long term injury, another who is really poor and a third on loan who is functional but could never break into the team of 3 seperate Championship clubs. But even though Hyam, Dolan, Brittain, Batth and Travis are all gone, we have a "stronger squad." -

I never said it was or wasnt a penalty. Definitely looked a foul, not sure if it was in the box. But its this constant deflection of blame that I cant stomach. I dont come away from tonights game thinking about the referee, I come away with further concerns about how I see the season panning out with these players and this manager under this board and these dreadful owners. Im going to ask you a question and I expect that you will do your usual routine of going off on random tangents. Ismael stands today with a record at Rovers having won 6, drawn 3 and lost 11. This season, he has won 2 and lost 6. He isnt the most pressing issue at the club but ill focus on him just for a moment. Are you happy for him to continue at the club? Do you have faith that he can turn things around? And also, how do you reflect on the summer window and how our squad is shaping up, under this manager where do you see us finishing? On Kargbo, I remember last season after him making a couple of sub appearances, you deemed him a successful signing already and used him as an example of the merits of Gestede. How sadly wrong you was. Hes absolute dog shit. -

He will not be sacked. Nearly 3 years on his contract and he wont have a go back like the others have. -

Was dreadful play, followed by more dreadful play by others in particular the lazy Kargbo. Did he? Had one chance and totally blew it leading to their goal. Offered no threat or value whatsoever. Ohashi is really limited but at least the ball sometimes sticks with him. -

They all took us over in different circumstances. Mowbray overtook a much worse squad that was destined for League 1. Beside that one summer when we spent £10m on top of a League 1 squad, like the other 2, the owners fucked everything up. Numerous summers spending little, limits on who we could trade, selling a key player and not reinvesting etc. As they always do. Now we have a manager far worse than all 3 of them, and with the owners still screwing us over. -

Did Gudjohnsen grow into the game? And Kargbo has no use. Even in the circumstances you suggest, he has nothing to offer. Horrendous player. -

In the second half, we werent "much better" at all. We was crap all game. Poor manager, poor players, lets blame everyone but ourselves. We deserved to lose because our incompetence saw us concede more than the opposition. Im guessing these are more points we can add to our ficticious league table. -

Im sure our crap manager will deflect by whinging about the referee off the back of a 4th successive home loss. But we are absolutely dire. A poor manager "aligned" in the recruitment of some absolutely terrible footballers to replace good ones, all with the sole intention of slashing costs. Kargbo is an absolute joke of a footballer. Gudjohnsen was terrible. We had 3 new signings on the bench, they are that bad that only one came on and for 1 minute. Miller is a really poor centre back. Another signing we made is injured long term but we signed him knowingly. You can see why a club promoted from League 1 lent us TGH. Poor manager, poor players in front of a depressingly sparse Ewood crowd. -

The decision is not the point. I never said it was the right decision either. But we need to get over it now, its been and gone, weve played a game since where we got battered in. Doesnt need a mention. -

Under a manager who once said that attacks win you matches but defences win you titles. Clearly, the ONLY way to win games isnt by going all out attack. -

Its hard to gauge how he is perceived overall. He obviously wasnt well received at first but he seemed to charm quite a few over the summer based on what he said. He was "aligned" with this "project" of bringing in players who are already materialising in the main to be a huge downgrade and some seemed to be fooled by it. I think his record is 6 wins, 3 draws and 10 defeats. He is a poor manager happy to do as he is told and blame everyone else but the club and as such will be here for the duration. -
I know new owners often want their own man/a fresh start and acknowledged that in my post. We saw that here in dreadful circumstances. But that doesnt change the discussion surrounding whether they deserve to lose their job. If one neutral fan asks another neutral fan whether they think a club should sack their manager or not, a new owner at that club has absolutely no relevance. So in this instance, we support neither United nor Spurs. But if the logic was that Ange should have kept his job owing to a cup victory whilst finishing was it 17th in the league, something I didnt agree with, then surely Ten Hag who finished I think 8th that season warranted the same outcome. Whether they had new owners coming in should bare no relevance towards your opinion considering that is what you would do. Im pretty sure that at the time, you did actually say that Ten Hag should have been kept and backed with new players anyway, although I might be wrong.
-
Why do new owners/senior management change whether it makes sense to keep or change a manager? Might make it more likely to trigger a change, but it doesnt change whether they SHOULD make a change.
-
Didnt you say at the time that they should have backed him in the summer and kept him? And why would a cup win in spite of a poor league campaign not keep one man in a job, but a cup in spite of a truly disastrous and embarassing league campaign keep Ange in one?

roversfan99 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They did a good job, I am not saying that they didnt do well to get us where we were in the table. Even Mowbray in his last season. All 3 had us overachieving considering resources and the limitations. But it didnt lead to success in spite of what they did. The initial point was that even Eustace and JDT couldnt get success even considering the good jobs they were doing.
