  1. Not really answered my question. The structure we have had where people above the head coach often decide players against the head coaches wishes has proven dysfunctional. It pissed off Eustace to the point that he left. Why are we not bothering to change that? Why are you just accepting that when its caused issues?
  2. Only Neto and Kilman that were important players that I can think of but I may have missed one or two. But either way, does that excuse conceding so many specifically from set pieces? Or his players repeatedly losing discipline? And is that squad really as bad as it was showing itself under him? Results since his departure suggest not. But even if that somewhat excuses him this season. What has he done to specifically make him an attractive proposition? Because hes seemingly a potential option, hes just hedging his bets to try and make it seem like something he wanted in case it happens.
  3. Wolves did sell a couple of players but as youve seen with the improvment since he left, that squad was not as bad as it appeared under him. They had conceded over 20 set piece goals I think so early in the season. The players clearly cant have respected him much because towards the end they seemed to have a public showing of ill discipline in each game.
  4. When you was anticipating January you definitely seemed happy to let him go. You wanted our strikers to be a new signing, Ohashi and Leonard. Its ok, like me you are probably surprised and didnt see it coming. But lets not make out like it was just me.
  5. Eustace had not long since been sacked with Birmingham 6th in the league. O'Neil's Wolves side conceded so many goals from set pieces. They also had numerous spells of ill discipline. 2 huge red flags. I dont think he did particularly well at Bournemouth to be honest.
  6. Seems a strange decision to just leave the whole structure as it is and just get someone grateful (so probably crap) to be here and take whatever hes given. But nothing will change with this dysfunctional club.
  7. Do you just not like him as a person?
  8. Weve collected 7 points from 17 times being behind this season apparently. Hardly a breath of fresh air. Just the 1 win which I think was against Oxford at home so right at the start of the season. As his reign went on, we did at least start to compete against sides at home who were at the top with incomparable budgets. Beat Arsenal and drew with Chelsea and I think United.
  9. He finished 10th. He did more than keep us up. Gerrard?
  10. Im pretty sure half of his list has changed to fit in with who is rumoured to be getting an interview. Wicky, O'Neil, Wellens.
  11. Do you think we SHOULD purposely pick someone willing to concede the final say in transfers? Rather than thinking, having people picking players that the head coach doesnt agree with has caused problems and led us into a mess. Just let the head coach have the final say going forward and learn your lesson.
  12. Is that really a factor in picking a manager? Thats genuinely something you think should be a tick in the box? Hardly as if his current job is local.
  13. Why would he not? He failed in Saudi Arabia and at Villa before. He would be incredibly lucky to get our job but we shouldnt even consider it.
  14. Its one thing people being unhappy with him at that time. But having seen what has happened since, I cant fathom how him being manager would be too much. His football is only seen as dull comparatively because of who he is. Eustace's football wasnt entertaining in the typical sense, we didnt score many, it was all build on being solid.
  15. It seems from here that the shortlist comprises of Wellens, Karanka, O'Neil, Wicky, Carvalhal (seemingly all written off) and most hilariously of all, George bloody Boateng. That seems to be stemming from Nixon though. He is unreliable and often spouts shit but it seems he must have some sort of pally relationship with someone higher up, perhaps Waggott. Hence his sick inducing take on things including our genius move to get Dennis on lower wages by waiting until we had lost throughout January. So if there is any truth in that list, if thats who we are interviewing, its one hell of a depressing list. Hopefully hes wide of the mark as he often is.
  16. Didnt realise Wellens' record was quite so bad. The fact that where he lives has been put forward as a positive tells you a lot.
  17. You say that chaddy, but you was also very critical of him and seemed happy to move him on. And to be fair, he looked very poor for quite a while. Offered absolutely no goal threat, technically poor and his hold up play was nowhere near what it has become. One thing that pleased me in particular last night that might sound strange was that his 2 goals and his shot off the bar all came from his feet. Hes always clearly been a threat in the air but you cant just rely on that and up to now his finishing with his feet has been so poor. Either scuffed/miscued or not in the corner and telrgraphed to the keeper. All of his goals up to now have been headers but you cant just solely rely on that and it was good to see him finishing the ball so cleanly. He probably wont ever be prolific but with what else he brings, to go from seldom if ever scoring even to scoring say 10 a season (might struggle to get that many this season) and doing the other things he does makes him a good option to have for sure. I was certainly like you wrong for thinking he had nothing to offer at this level. I was only judging based on what I was seeing but thankfully hes come on leaps and bounds and has added goals to his game.
  18. Id be very underwhelmed. What relevance does the fact that hes lived in Manchester for years have on the decision?! Coyle lives/lived near Brockhall, so what.
  19. I cant see that happening. But yes, with a full week before Swansea.
  20. We can not just leave Lowe and Johnson in charge. Last night was a fantastic win where a team clearly so well drilled from a season working under Eustace had that additional seige mentality created by what has happened. Its a different story when that wears off.
  21. It could also make it very difficult for those slightly further down to make up any gap.
  22. Was it Mowbray? I dont ever recall it coming from anything public. Wasnt the context that scouts were at our games but had been told either we wouldnt entertain below £10m or thats what he would be in the future? Either way, whoever said it was way off.
  23. Lets hope the pitch doesnt play a negative part either. In light of Venkys cutbacks and refusing to do the full relay as promised the other year, its again looking a mess. The game isnt as hard as any this season, clearly. But of course we should approach it that way.
  24. Its not about specifically saying you are wrong, more not stubbornly sticking by your initial impression. Case in point, RevidgeBlue about Tronstad. But on Gueye, I struggled to even see him getting 5 league goals and I didnt see him performing as he currently is so I was wrong on both. On the 2 examples you gave, Paul Mani never said he thought Buckley was worth £10m. Assuming someone did, whoever (and where) came out with that, it was clearly ridiculous. But it would be comparable if he did say that and continued to stick by it. Equally, roversclitheroe seemed to take a dislike to Hyam and even in the last couple of weeks implied that he shouldnt be playing for us at this level. So no acknowledgement that he is doing well. Going back to my point though, if you dont rate a player, or if you do rate a player highly, go to town, dont hold back. As long as if your impression turns out to be wrong, you dont just stick to that opinion. The "dont write players off" rhetoric, I dont agree with. Equally, most of us though Cantwell would be really good for us. Hes been crap. So it works both ways.
  25. Crucial game and imperative we dont waste the platform of last night by dropping points. Yes Plymouth have picked up lately but a home game v a bottom 3 side has to be bread and butter if you have serious top 6 aspirations. If we can win, 2 or 3 other games see teams with top 6 hopes playing against each other. Because of our dreadful form it opened up to be a 9 or 10 horse race for 2 spots. A couple could start to be cut away if we can get a win. Be a big risk to stick Carter straight back in. We also could do with more in attack. Pears Brittain Sanderson Hyam Ribeiro Travis Buckley Dolan Dennis Kargbo Gueye
