  1. Would Dennis mean you expect us to make the top 6? Do you have any concerns about the deal, or is it all positive? Lack of game time, not a prolific goalscorer? Do you have any concerns about how many of our players are on short term deals? Our wingers are a weak area so I was thinking at times if we had Kargbo and Dennis either side, we could still have Gueye (or Ohashi down the middle) and Cantwell behind and they are both dying for some pace to run in behind which theyd have. So you came in to mock those complaining but dont know about the player?
  2. If Dennis does sign, and its a big if with us, I still consider it a poor window overall. The owners again havent backed us and its a case of trying to cobble something together in spite of them. 4 of the 5 deals will be until the summer and even Kargbo isnt a long term deal I also do think there are downsides beyond it being another loan. He hasnt played for ages with his best form a long time ago and he has never been prolific. In terms of his ability though, he should add alot and give us a boost. He gives us more speed and he is flexible too so he could play from one of the sides with Gueye or Ohashi also still in the team. Its a better signing than I expected even if it is short term and not the goalscorer we crave.
  3. Ive repeatedly said that the job Eustace doing in spite of how the club is owned and run is very impressive. Hes not the one failing us again in this window.
  4. Has the Shankland rumour snowballed from random twitter posts?
  5. I never said 3 years, but if we rate him enough to sign him and him only being 28, surely we give him at least 1.5 if not 2.5 years knowing that Beck goes back in the summer. You speak as if im being unreasonably negative, but theres not much about how the club is run that doesnt warrant criticism, is there?
  6. Why have we signed a 28 year old on a free just until the end of the season?
  7. Nathan Jones, desperately trying to get that last day of attention for a few months despite knowing nothing.
  8. Hopes which will almost certainly not materialise.
  9. It has been rubbished by a few including their local reporter.
  10. How could Mafoumbi going out be relevant to anything? He will be on peanuts, hes nowhere near the first team, hes gone to the Belgian second division and he still takes an ESC slot as we hold his registration.
  11. Do you have a link? Hes crap so I hope not.
  12. I think you are thinking far too much into it.
  13. But as you said, Forshaw is 4th or 5th choice. Baker was 3rd choice. Why not sign another player to be the 3rd choice, ie 2nd when we have injuries? Ideally someone to be good enough where when our injured first choice player returns, we dont have to desperately rush him back and he might have to wait a game or 2.
  14. 99% of us expect no striker. Best case scenario, some bottom of the barrel loan.
  15. I dont have anything against Plymouth. And I will judge him on how he plays. But I dont consider a cheap freebie unwanted by Plymouth to be "4th or 5th choice" to be sufficient when we lost our decent 3rd choice, have injuries in that position and are supposedly chasing promotion. Either I have high expectations for wanting someone better than Forshaw or you have dangerously low standards.
  16. Chaddy felt that replacing a solid 3rd choice with a "4th/5th choice" who is crap and unwanted by Plymouth was befitting a team that supposedly has ambitions of making the top 6.
  17. Why would West Brom loan a player to a direct rival?
  18. So seems like there is a very real chance that we dont sign a striker at all.
  19. Forshaw was a terrible signing. But Weimann, Cantwell and definitely Sanderson could not play in central midfield.
  20. I suspect you are overlooking the possibility that we end up empty handed.
  21. Hes been saying all January that we need some improvements so if he isnt happy, I think he will say.
  22. Yep, perhaps the inevitable conclusion is shit window, season runs out of steam, he leaves in the summer.
  23. If we are reliant on Danns and dont get him, which probably is only an outside shot. I wonder what Eustace says post window, if he will go full JDT.
  24. And that seems to be best case scenario at the moment as Danns has his pick of clubs should he not choose to stay at Liverpool.
