My opinion is that my gut feeling is that Ismael isnt a good manager. A huge downgrade on Eustace. Do we look well coached? Not particularly. He is here for the duration either way as he was given such a long contract that we cant afford to pay off. Not that I am saying that we should sack him at the moment before you twist it. Obviously you have lost your credibility on the issue considering your huge u-turn.

I am not writing Michalski off. To suggest I am is twisting what I am saying. He shouldnt be expected to be immediate backup at a Championship club at his age and has displayed that he isnt ready for that. You keep saying maybe Ismael is happy with this and that. We dont know but even if he is, any manager isnt beyond question and Ismael certainly isnt.

Im glad that we have signed a striker because it hopefully reduces the chance of Makhtar Gueye getting on the pitch for us. Ohashi also needs some competition, he is ok but nothing special. But im not convinced on paper by the signing. He seems to have had a really poor season for Gent, their fans dont seem fond of him (contrast that to Legia fans gutted to lose Morishita) and his goal record is unremarkable. His season in Denmark at a lesser level and his international record before that do provide some encouragement and he is young. I fear that this will be our last signing but we certainly need more.

Ismael seemed to downplay the possibility of more signings beside Gudjohnsen without ruling it out. Elliott Jackson also seems to be under the impression that it might be just Gudjohnsen if that gets done. Thats a massive concern and leaves us short not of bodies but of certain qualities in a few areas. As mentioned, we badly need another senior goalkeeper. Goes without saying. We definitely need a midfielder. People suggesting that Tavares is an upgrade on Travis are totally wrong. He has shown flashes, was woeful today but seems like one we could develop but I wouldnt bank on him every week. Baradji is injured and Montgomery isnt ready. Browne would have been ideal with Championship experience but it seems with Gestede and Owen playing their own game of football manager, its not important. We also still need some pace across the front line, ideally from wide. We needed some going into the summer and havent got that. Kargbo is the only pacy player and he isnt up to the standard. I would like another striker too and to get rid of Gueye.

Ismaels win record so far is 29.4% and his points per game is 1.06. For comparisons sake, Owen Coyle had equivalent stats of 29.73% and 1.11.

Your comments towards supporters sounded quite angry. We have heard about transitions before. The Travis situation wasnt dropped on us quickly, we knew these situations would unfold due to our inability to sort contracts.

Ohashi is more of a striker than a number 10. Hes just average. Gueye on the other hand is dreadful.

Another player worth mentioning is Ribeiro. I have maintained that Pickering is better, he is a really poor left back. Alebiosu is one glimmer of hope, still raw but I like the look of him. Doesnt appear that Ismael fancies De Neve or Hendriksson.

To be fair, Roversxtra is usually just an account to echo (and credit) other sources. Has got a couple of correct stories here it seems. Nathan Jones still knows nothing though. Not his story.

It isnt. But as ever, people like you dont respond with anything constructive and just patrol perceived negativity. On this particular player, I have more concerns than some of the other signings who I have much more reason for optimism over, and even then, I havent written him off and have tried to constructively give reasons why he might prove to be a good signing.

Yeah I dont think they are a "bit naff". Its hard to know how to read into his Iceland stats because aside from Turkey, his goals predominantly come against countries ranging from poor to out and out minnows. But then again, he plays for a poor country. He scored an excellent finish against Scotland. His goal record in Denmark is pretty good to be fair. Although it was one season and followed by one when he failed to make the step up into the Belgian league. But again, it doesnt seem like he was a guaranteed starter I dont think his record overall is overly encouraging, the signing definitely strikes me as a punt, which is the market especially with a striker that we are entering at this level of fee. I would rather have someone like this than no one at all, which is what I feared would happen, especially as we only have 1 striker capable at this level. He is only quite young too, so hopefully he can really push on now, assuming he joins.

Im not sure about this one. He seems to have really struggled in the Belgian league and scored far fewer than Gueye who hasnt proved to be good enough. His record in general doesnt suggest a goalscorer. It feels like a punt although for the fees we are able to offer, I appreciate that it is particularly difficult to sign a striker compared to other positions as that position is the hardest and dearest to sign. There are things to cling on to. Neither his record for 1 season in Denmark nor his international record are brilliant but they are certainly much healthier. And he is also still quite young so fair to assume hes not at at his peak, and looking at videos, he seems to have attributes we can work with. His finishes arent scruffy (like the video of Gueye's were) and he strikes a ball cleanly, and also physically seems quite strong and he isnt slow. Who is dad is is fairly irrelevant. And to clarify, I am NOT writing him off. I am sure this post will attract people calling me out as negative as you arent allowed to point out concerns. Im just less convinced at this stage than I was when we signed some of the other players that we have. Morishita for example, another I had not seen before, I think theres far more on paper to be excited about.

McTominay was wrongly profiled as a defensive midfielder. Since moving to Napoli, and for Scotland, he has thrived as an attacking midfielder. Suppose with Bruno there he was unlikely to get a game at United.
