Would it tire the opposition out if we played Gueye and they had to keep getting the ball for free kicks after he keeps getting caught offside? -

By that, I mean that any remaining funds should go towards getting players for now as we are still short. -

Yeah once the window closes that includes loans. A number of years ago, they had an extra window for loans but thay has long since gone. You can only then sign free agents and they would have had to be free agents when the window closed. -

If Wrexham do get Sheaf and potentially Vyner, theyve had an absolutely unbelievable window. They have signed Callum Doyle which was a brilliant signing, as well as Conor Coady. Add Vyner on top and theyve made a new back 3. Theyve also signed a left wing back for a decent fee who was playing in Serie A last season. In midfield, both Sheaf and O'Brien are stand outs at this level and with James, Thomason, Rathbone and Dobson theyve plenty of further experience. Then in attack, theyve added to Sam Smith with Broadhead, Windass, Moore and Hardie. Their main issues aside from gelling it all together are Danny Ward in net who has instantly become number 1 and is woeful, and I still have question marks over whether Parkinson is the man to get the best out of it. -

Seeing as we arent signing a keeper. I cant believe im saying this. But I hope Pears doesnt go and he regains his place as sub keeper. -

Prediction for deadline day. No signings, the biggest news being Leonard being sold and one or two young lads like Batty going out on loan. A brief period where someone (probably Alan Nixon) links us to a deal that was never happening, the rumour lasts an hour or two before fizzling out. -

Yep, we arent in a position to spend a reasonable fee on players to be immediately loaned out. I really hope (but doubt) that we are trying to shift Gueye however possible. And someone like Cadamarteri might be good to push Ohashi and Gudjohnsen. But we need a central midfielder, goalkeeper and winger more urgently than a striker. -

Kargbo and Tavares getting 5 out of 10 and Ribeiro 6 out of 10? Lets say thats generous. -

To be honest, in 3 of the last 4 seasons, we have had seasons whereby 3 different managers have done excellent jobs to get us league finishes well above what resources we had at our disposal. The first, we sold Armstrong and reinvested nothing. The second, we spent a whole £4m and then had a disastrous January. And the third, we sold Szmodics, spent a small amount then had another terrible January and then fucked Eustace about before his inferior replacement oversaw a damaging run of constant losses. All 3 seasons had similar patterns of brilliant starts and the wheels coming off. The source of which goes back to India, Venkys are the common denominator, this sort of shit has gone on for 15 years. I am sure youd put the source down to Mowbray, Broughton and then either the court case or Waggott. -

Such a passive way to admit blame. Their issues fall far below employing those 3. The first 2 were flawed brought as much as good as bad, especially Mowbray, and surely after Suhail's influence has come to light, Waggott was an issue but clearly never THE ISSUE over here. I expect us to thrive though now without those 3 at the club. -

He didnt. He just talked about how he used to come up from the academy when we were a senior player short in training. Again, the blame goes to the wrong place. Broughton wasnt great but he did add some value. He made some good/very good signings and was proactive with contracts. He wasnt this disaster you made out to deflect blame away. As with every "era" or "project" it was the owners who stopped us. -

No I dont think that, stop being patronising. But it doesnt mean that all of his stories are accurate. Take Browne. Ismael was unaware of any interest whatsoever. Take Smit. The Go Ahead Eagles journalist said the club had heard of no interest. Take Afolayan. And probably Gassama. We clearly were waiting on Morishita all summer. -

Key 2 words here are cheap relating to wages of signings and willing in relation to the manager doing and taking as he is told. -

I hope he is right but its in his best interests to get stories through transfer links. Lets see but I fear we are done especially after what Ismael said. -

He played on the left for much of last season and was awful. Hes had a couple of games to be fair but its not down to that. -

Eustace, obviously. And probably some players, especially Travis. Rather than the cretins that own and run us into the ground. How do you know we are looking to sign a couple? Ismael didnt sound sure about that yesterday. -

Championship Season 25-26
roversfan99 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Will post in here as most relevant. Derby have started the season even worse than us but they seem to have done some good business and I feel like with the manager they have, once the new players bed in they will soon move up the table. Eustace has obviously had a big say and I find this modern day suggestion that a manager/head coach having a big influence on recruitment is archaic, to be totally ridiculous. He is working with these players. He has been backed and unlike last summer when we needed forwards and he was given the average Ohashi and the awful Gueye. He has been backed with a big money USA striker, dunno what hes like, but also proven Championship quality in Morris and Brereton. You also throw into the mix good quality in like Travis and Johnston, and then a few others to add good quality to the squad around that, a mixture of longer term without prioritising the most important season which is the current one, they look much stronger than last season. Justifies his decision to leave even more. I also find the idea that our window has been about finding superior models as if we have chosen to lose who we have lost to be totally untrue and I would prefer their window. -

2 of the direct competition for the wide positions are Kargbo who doesnt appear to be good enough, and De Neve who has looked well off it and already doesnt seem to be fancied by Ismael. We need another winger because quality wise we dont have enough. But theyll see 4 players who can play there and not bother.
