  1. One thing they dont ever seem to have been pressed on is the stupid phases. Prices etc theyve been questioned on and given often illogical explanations but the phases means that youve basically got a whole summer where you are limiting sales with people unwilling to pay an inflated price.
  2. One of the 3 stooges. Some of the stuff he has said in his recent media round up has been very strange. He has overseen one window post Park and it was a disaster. As you agree, he shouldnt be in the job. The window seems a much more optimistic one to you. You havent really factored in the contract situation as a problem (Dolan is going and the others we either sell or lose in a year for free) and you have just assumed for some reason that everyone is suddenly aligned and on the same budget, and youve based your expected budget on the higher end of what liar Suhail said we spent in the season just gone. On the players you mention. Cantwell hasnt been a success, he has talent but overall has had a really disappointing season. He may kick on next season but cant be seen as a success yet. Youve already concluded based on very little that Kargbo is a success (was dreadful yesterday but either way hasnt done enough so far to be seen as one) so maybe we have different standards. Toth again id say its too early. I think in the last 5 games hes only conceded 3 but the main reason hasnt been his brilliant keeping, similar to when Pears kept 5 clean sheets in a row it was a spell where in the main the good defending of the team meant that the keeper had little to do. Ohashi has been a useful signing and certainly value for the small amount of money paid but I think he would be better competing with someone as first choice, Batth has been very good as a short term signing.
  3. To be fair, that idiot got them promoted.
  4. He has to go because of today? I can see why he didn't bring on the crap off the bench sooner.
  5. Are you saying that we spent £5m this season (I really don't think we did) or that we will have it for this summer? And do you think this club is aligned on transfers?
  6. Not a summer to look forward to, aside from a break from the stress of Rovers. A small budget in the hands of the idiot that is Rudy Gestede. Then you have the players we currently have. Tronstad, Travis, Brittain and Hyam are all key players going into their final year and Dolan is already going. What is left after that? Also, you know the season is over when people start trying to pick through the carcases of the relegated teams, looking at players all of whom are unaffordable.
  7. This season has again proved that the general standard of the league is not very good. The top 2 or 3 are always fairly predictable due to the mess that is the distribution of TV money leaving a huge gap, but getting into the top 6 is very doable. Those inside the club like to dumb down expectations though. Don't allow them to lower your standards and think this season is positive because "we expected a relegation battle." It also proved that we will never thrive under these owners. In 3 of the last 4 seasons, we have had managers to get the team performing beyond the sum of its parts. When they needed help, things collapsed because the owners didnt care.
  8. Not having any feelings of pride in just missing out. It keeps happening and you are deluding yourself if you think next year is the year. In such a good position in a poor league and January was so bad it accelerated the departure of a very good manager to be replaced by a very questionable one. The state of those subs we brought on using our "significant investment" which led to us never looking like scoring. Dennis? Embarassing. Kargbo? Was dismal. Woodrow? Less said about him the better. Forshaw? Really?
  9. Everyone seems to assume Derby but for a minimal compensation fee, surely he can do better than Derby. As ever, the dreadful running of the club under Venkys continues.
  10. I never said it was better or worse for the changes, beside saying that the new format has been a success. I would probably personally agree that if you are out, you are out. But naturally, the quality drops in the Europa League because often the drop outs were strong teams. Ange should have been sacked long ago, their overall season has been pathetic. Its a big if in terms of the Europa League but of course that would change the perception but I still think theyd be better off getting rid. The Wigan comparison is incomparable really.
  11. The Europa League quality wise has suffered from the new format meaning that Champions League drop outs dont enter. That being said, I think the new format has been far more successful than I anticipated. I'm not having that you can dismiss Spurs' pathetic league season as purely down to injuries. Although some of those injuries were self inflicted anyway with Ange rushing them back. To be 16th means he is incredibly lucky that Levy presumably is too tight to pay out his contract. His tactical approach and naivety not adjusting to those injuries has been ridiculous, there is more than enough quality to still be far, far higher than 2 places above the drop zone.
  12. Hyam also had a very good spell alongside Carter under Tomasson. Carter seems to be still seen as our biggest asset but for those 2 years since its been a mixture of injuries and poor form. Hyam is a good defender at this level. Being signed by Broughton wont help his reputation with you though.
  13. The point is not even about the fees. None of us know. Its of you believing everything everyone says.
  14. Coup seems a bit strong. Potentially a useful and clever pickup but his career is really nomadic and this is the first season really where hes done ok at 28.
  15. Gueye 1m. Kargbo 1m or just under. The other 3 a combined million. If Suhail told me the sky is blue, I wouldnt believe him. And we hear the same every season about getting signings in before pre season. Then do the same dance when pre season comes, no one is in, then you start telling everyone to be patient, listing other teams yet to make a signing.
  16. I feel like you put too much stock into what people say at our club, despite the constant lies. You believed Suhail saying that we spent £4.5m, you believe Gestede that our budget will be similar. And every manager I can remember has talked about getting signings in early, we seldom manage it. Ismael is naive to how shambolic a transfer window is with these owners and board because hes never witnessed one.
  17. Chaddy will be straight in to ask how can he be crap if he is a professional footballer? Even relative to the level, he certainly isnt crap though. Hedges is. Dolan is still at times frustrating but he would be a very useful signing for most in this league.
  18. I cant see us signing a keeper. Gestede didnt mention it and we have 2 keepers on longer contracts. Quality is secondary how we are run. We need more than 4 or 5. If we start plugging some of the gaps with the likes of Forshaw, Hedges and also a number of graduates then when the injuries hit next season we will end up with the same problem.
  19. They love going to extremes. The only alternative isnt £150 season tickets and they seem very keen to compare us to Leeds. No one is saying we should be directly competitive with Leeds. Most of the answers are just that the owners spend and do as they like. These leeches are powerless, until the owners go nothing will change.
  20. Pears is a top half player but Dolan isnt good enough?
  21. Another person who has minimal awareness of the Rovers fanbase and also exactly why everyone is so disillusioned. He was given an easy ride and a platform to do a woe is me act and praise how hard working the board are.
  22. His decision making has certainly improved this season. It is not "woefully sub-par."
