  1. But its Venkys that he will be giving the benefit of the doubt, or not. His happiness will depend on if he is backed. That is 100% on them, no nonsense about not being asked, if no reasonable budget is forthcoming, then he would be more likely to jump ship, nothing to do with the lapdog messengers.
  2. Nothing says transfer window like getting updates not that Nixon has linked us to someone. But that Nixon is going to link us to someone and we need a build up of anticipation as if someone has actually signed and ready to be announced. He linked us to McBurnie last week or the week before. Turned out to be bollocks.
  3. Did Dolan have any shots, create any chances etc? Or just "look to do things." ACD very much did look to do things, even if it wasnt that much. His cross was really good but Gueye made himself impossible to pick out as he was nowhere near the danger area, the ball was really inviting.
  4. Also please ask why we havent spent anything other than crumbs in a time period where we have brought in £50m+ in sales. Including in January when we desperately need numerous reinforcements. (We know that will be the case)
  5. There definitely is a raw element which unfortunately leads to stuff like this although there was a lot that happened afterwards where we could have stopped the goal. Hyam and Brittain got in each others way then the second ball in should have been defended better. I am yet to be convinced either way but he does provide more threat than those around him going forward. The only one who gets shots away or takes people on. He put in a really good cross but a combination of Gueye on his heels as ever and the others not showing a desire to push into the box meant that it was wasted.
  6. Its a grim choice and because of Gallagher's injury record its hypothetical. Then again, if Gallagher is injured he cant play. Gueye usually is fit to play so at least if you pick Gallagher you likely have neither in your side. If he is fit, he at least gets more than 1 goal every half season and a ball isnt quite as alien a concept.
  7. Hes scored is it 1 goal in something like 1 in 18 games? Works hard but little else. At least he looks like he has seen a football before unlike Gueye. We cant be confident of that to be fair. Especially under similar budgetary restraints and with the same people in charge of finding someone who managed to find Gueye. Who even his biggest fan only has down as a lump to bring on when chasing a game hoping to get the scraps off him. But there has to be someone better. Hard to find worse.
  8. The fact that hes barely been fit and has still matched Gueye tells you a lot. And just to clarify as you like to claim otherwise, I dont rate Gallagher and am glad hes gone. Shame we found someone even worse.
  9. ACD wasnt as effective as he had be but I dont get the distinction between him and Dolan. The latter, I cant remember doing anything. ACD at least showed our only fleeting flashes of doing something in the first half, tried a couple of shots, got a couple of good crosses in that the donkey in the middle just stood and didnt try to get on the end of.
  10. Absolutely, he does have 5 league goals overall though. But I dont think he is necessarily good enough.
  11. He is a cumbersome lump replaced somehow by an even more cumbersome and far more goal shy lump.
  12. Hes a striker with 1 goal all season! And we cant score goals. Its as big an issue as any.
  13. Gueye. Gallagher (when fit) wasnt a natural goalscorer either. He had no instinct to get into dangerous areas. Yet when fit, even he got 8 or 9 a season. I cant get my head around how Gestede researched him and thought, yep he fits into this team and has enough quality.
  14. It would say a lot if we cant find a striker to score more than 1 goal in half a season. The thing with Ohashi is that even though he has offered so little goal threat since an early burst of goals that at least makes his tally semi respectable. The team looks so much more fluid with him in it. Rather than a big cumbersome lump who couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo.
  15. He never looks like scoring. Its going to be mid January minimum before he even potentially can get to 2 league goals. He offers no goal threat, when attacking players get the ball for example out wide he shows no movement to get into goalscoring positions. A neutral wouldnt see that he has offered no threat to goal all season and thats not acceptable for a striker. Hes stealing a living at this level and people are clinging onto little glimpses of hold up play as if he isnt a big problem. He needs shifting.
  16. Its Venkys that arent willing to reinvest any of the sales they pushed for but again the focus goes elsewhere.
  17. Even when players get down the sides, Gueye has no intelligence and no desire to get into goalscoring positions. We badly need a striker and a winger as a minimum, plus defensive cover. I wouldnt hold your breath under these owners, certainly no one of much use.
  18. Not true. And incredible that you believe that.
  19. Simply not good enough and I am not pacified by effort, I am sick of seeing us fail to win (usually losing) to that lot, symptomatic of the Venkys era. It was a crap performance. Gueye still seems to have some staunchly defending him, he is absolute shite. Nowhere near good enough. @Paul Mani bizarrely was claiming that he at least creates chances for himself, he doesnt, there were times in the first half in particular through ACD when we got down the sides and he shows no movement or desire to get himself into a position where he can potentially receive a cross. He needs shifting as soon as possible, he isnt good enough, he never will be and Gestede has dropped a howler bringing him in. The whole attack is totally blunt, the 4 that started have 5 goals between them. Dolan did nothing and Cantwell again flatters to deceive. ACD is the one who does show fleeting bits of promise to make things happen but he tires very quickly. The subs are a waste of time, Leonard isnt ready, Weimann is past it, Hedges scores 1 a season and Buckley like Gueye I would be happy to never see in our shirt again. Defensively for the most part we were fine, Eustace has us well drilled but out attack is terrible. If Eustace isnt backed he will just leave. We cant sustain a play off push with this squad.
  20. Im not sure a bloke recommending Morata and Enzo Fernandez is the answer.
  21. Would be typical Rovers to sign a player in one position we have 2 good options in already.
  22. The symptom of no money (not a big budget waiting just to be asked for) and big delays with things needing to be approved by owners miles away who dont care sadly.
  23. We was talking about league goals. Not a goal against a Stockport youth side when prolific Jack Vale also scored. You clearly dont rate him either hence recently basically saying he isnt good enough.
