v Stoke City (h) - 4/10/25, k/o 12:30pm

Generally really disappointed in that performance but the last 15 minutes redeemed it somewhat. In the end we could have won with a bit more luck in front of goal. That first half was atrocious with the ball we looked so negative and nobody was showing for it or making runs behind apart from Cantwell. The attacking signings are all looking complete duds, Gudjohnsen and Morishita totally anonymous again can’t even do the basics. The two centre mids sit far too deep all game, one of them needs to run between the lines or carry the ball. A lot of hope on Baradji being this sort of player as we are crying out for one. Defensive signings all look decent thankfully, Miller MotM today. The subs made by Ismael finally made a difference today as well and rescued us a point. De Neve and Yuki can start over Gudjohnsen and Morishita for me next game. -

It’s horrific out this morning just been out with the dog. If I drag my ass all the way to ewood and they call it off during the match will be very annoyed. -

Must win against Stoke on Saturday to stop the rot, the run of games after that is really tough. Ismael appears untouchable regardless of results so we just have to hope he gets it all to click together before its too late. -
I’ve seen enough of this lad now to say he is the pick of our summer signings. Replacing Brittain was going to be a tough gig but he has slotted in effortlessly at right back. Looks solid in defence and our best attacker when we have possession. Some great dribbling and crosses tonight. In a sea of summer shit we seem to have at least found one gem.

If we can’t get a result against that Swansea team tonight it bodes poorly for the rest of the season. They were so poor and yet somehow we managed to conspire to lose due to two defensive errors. I think we look ok as a team this season but just seem to have no luck in front of goal or with decisions. Then at the other end every mistake we make gets punished. All signs of a bad season ahead. A big problem is how poor we are outside the first 11. Every sub just makes us worse rather than impacting the game. Kargbo with one of the worst 45 mins in a rovers shirt for some time. The whole place just has a stink to it at the moment from the boardroom to the pitch. Lose again on Saturday and that must be some sort of home record start to a season. -

I don't understand why its chaos, they are coming back to play a game of football whether its 10mins or 90mins. Just playing what is left with 11 vs 10 and at 1-0 is perfectly doable and would have been the fair outcome. Just because something hasn't been done before is no excuse to never do it in the future. -

I've promised myself a takeaway on the way home to motivate myself to actually go on rather than watch from the sofa 🙂 -

Need 6 points from these next two home games, if we had our first 11 fit I think we would stand a good chance. But the makeshift defensive setup due to selling Hyam without replacement stinks the place out and if we concede first think we lose both of them. -

Be amazed if Ismael keeps a lid on his thoughts now we have a few injuries in defence. The squad is paper thin and selling Hyam was suicide. Unless we keep the first 11 fit relegation is a possibility. -

Didn’t see any of today but sounds like a deserved thumping. Hard to judge if it means anything as think we have done ok in our other games so far. hopefully two home wins coming up to make us all feel better as looking bad points wise so far. -

I find it hard to fathom how anyone (let alone rovers fans) can deem a full replay with 11 vs 11 and at 0-0 a fair outcome to the situation. Its the most likely purely because its the easy option for the EFL and we aren't a Leeds/Boro/Sheff Utd who wouldn't stand for it and gain a lot more media/legal attention. -

Well I’m glad the club is fighting our corner as it’s clear a few fans on here certainly wouldn’t if they were in a position to. -

I would be fine with that and if they don’t want to travel up they can forfeit the result. It happens in Spain I was told at the ground by someone but they could be talking nonsense. As others have said there is no precedent here so will just be a full replay and we get shafted. -

In a fair world we get awarded 3 points or worst case replay 10 mins with them a man and goal down. But you just know the FA will fuck us over and the game expunged and replayed with a clean slate. I won’t be going on principal. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
roverblue replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
JDT was out his depth in the championship, massively naive and just tried to outscore the opposition regardless of their quality. Made for some entertaining performances but also some total disasters. Unless he was given two incredible centre backs the quality of Van Dijk it was never going to work. Ismael I still think will be gone once we get a few injuries and bad results pile up with our squad depth so poor. He seems a bit too fiery and mental to just stand in an interview and keep his mouth shut. Selling Hyam I imagine massively pissed him off. -

Hyam sale probably bought them another couple of months operating costs, Pashas in the good books. -
I am sure the squad is overall weaker. However some of the signings on early performances look good enough to perform as well as those that have left like Abeyiosu, Morishita, McGloughlin. The problem is a few injuries to them or the OG's and we are replacing with those that I think aren't up to the standard for the championship. Its at this point we suffer and risk our championship status.

On the footballing side if we sign a contract for a player at 10k a week for 5 years does inflation come into play? Sorry if a daft question I just expected that was it for the 5 years -

Great 3 points and great performance. Don’t think we have played badly in any game I’ve seen us in yet and with more luck have more points in the bag. Early days but you can see which of the new signings look the part and which don’t. Promising signs from Gudjohnsen in his cameo. -

I like how Miller is now a centre back and was always Hyams replacement they just thought he would have left sooner. Even though he was clearly Brittain's replacement earlier in the window. -

So looks like there is £12million winging its way to rovers asap? Biggest chunk of money they have sent since the one end of 2023? -

Said it all summer but we are in big trouble this year. Already lost 4 out of 5 and replaced all our experienced pros with foreign gambles. I think the manager is a dud, the executives rotten to the core and morale of staff/players already at the floor. Package all that against a very competitive league this year where even bottom feeders and promoted clubs have spent considerable funds improving their squad with experienced pros. The only real disaster club is Sheff Wed which leaves 2 more spaces up for grabs of which I am fairly certain we will be one.
