  1. He was lucky not to get a 2nd yellow against Coventry too. Bambi on ice
  2. They’re nothing special at the back, but they could easily put 5 on us here regardless. Stupid mistakes for the goal, Rothwell for the first and poor marking choices on the 2nd. We are playing with 10 men though. Put Buckley where Johnson is and put Khadra or Butterworth in the front 3. Either way, Johnson needs hooking. He’s so far off the pace.
  3. Absolutely horrendous by Rothwell both giving it away and defending. Let’s hope Rangers etc. are all watching
  4. False 9 Update: It’s Buckley
  5. They’ve just said that we’re yet to beat a team in the top half this season (imagine they mean the current top half). Shows what usually happens to us in these matchups under Mowbray!!
  6. Remember 2005 (I think?) though, when we scored two absolute screamers against them. Pederson and then a Tugay beauty.
  7. Fulham by 2 goals. We never beat anyone ahead of us, and certainly not when televised! Hopefully it’s not Buckley as a false 9. I’d prefer Rothwell in the front 3 than Buckley. We’ll have some pace up there with Dolan, Diaz and Rothwell. Edit: interesting that Downing just said Diaz almost went on loan to Holland. I don’t remember hearing about that.
  8. I was at the Coventry game and I was convinced I saw Wilder in and around the directors lounge area. Said it to my brother who was with me but it didn’t make much sense to me why he’d be there, so just assumed it was his doppelgänger.
  9. Depressingly we had a 28 goal striker and Harvey Elliott last year and still managed to finish 15th. Glad I dodged the trip tonight, like you say, great effort for all those who travelled.
  10. Ah my bad, I had in my head he was a loanee for some reason. I guess with the effort comment I’m probably thinking how much does someone like Poveda care walking off the pitch…but then again from what friends in Leeds say it’s the same deal there. More the personality of the player than anything else. Yeah van Hecke was visibly shattered at the end.
  11. An entertaining game if you were a neutral, few thoughts from myself: - Ayala still looking like a ball magnet this season, Lenihan also looked solid next to him. Van Hecke was on his arse after 70 mins as you’d expect after an injury but Tony had obviously used all his subs and left us well open at the back there. - Edun looked pretty uninterested (and poor). It’s the balance of these loan signings i.e how arsed is someone like him or Poveda compared to someone like an Elliott (quality aside). Any reason the Khadra wasn’t in the squad and Poveda was? edit: a few are saying Edun had a good game, maybe I’m wrong here, just personally thought it was all a bit half hearted compared to Nyambe on the right (ie all the first half came up our right) - Wrong decision to sub Dolan, certainly not for Poveda. - Nyambe was immense, especially first half. Worrying that himself, Rothwell and Diaz are all running their contracts down. - Buckley also really looked good first half. Hooked because the ref was an absolute joke (for both sides as they had a blatant penalty waved away from where I was sat) Overall a disappointing end after a great 25 mins in the first half, but these kind of draws and 9th in the league is about our limit with this coaching team. Great to get back to Ewood after leaving the UK this summer…my first match since pre-Covid (Swansea 29th feb I think). But as it has looked on the TV, it’s bloody deserted. 10k or so home fans today and it’s very flat (without the rovers darwen end fans, there isn’t the same home noise). Riverside also looking very sparse. Waggot has a lot to answer for.
  12. True - 100% would have been my choice tonight ahead of the 3 midfield/striker subs. More of a concern for a 90 minute game.
  13. Great cameo the other day, and I fully agree he deserves a chance over those who came off the bench…but he was puffing out of his arse after 15 minutes against Hull.
  14. Clarkson and Poveda were not the answer. Neither look up to much, especially Poveda. Magloire isn’t Championship standard. It shows how thin our squad is. Disappointing points dropped. Hope Rothwell isn’t too badly injured, and we get some defenders back soon. Khadra and Dolan should be starting either side of Brereton.
  15. He’s a complete moron, an overpaid moron, and an unbelievably thick moron. In the article he bangs on about bringing everything back to the season ticket: “We’ve tried to make it so that the season ticket prices are what we base everything on” Only 3 clubs in the league have a more expensive base ST in the league (see article below). Yet he’s claiming this is as affordable as possible. What do we get in return… 1) The pitch is a shambles 2) The stadium is a complete mess 3) Shit food, shit pints, with no changes or innovation in match day experience 4) Ridiculously expensive walk on prices and most importantly: 5) A depleted squad with barely a penny spent, and shocking shocking quality value for money. https://www.football365.com/news/championship-st-prices-ranked-from-cheapest-to-most-expensive Been through it all so many times before, looking at how many extra fans you’d need to justify £100 drop etc. Along with the endless things they could do to improve match day. Yet every year it’s £400 and flat lager (if you queue on 25 mins you might get it)…fill your boots.
  16. Thank god. The two subs have made a hell of a change. Certainly showing up the lack of urgency from Buckley and Clarkson. Ayala is comfortably player of the season so far, praying he stays fit.
  17. Can’t see it myself, albeit I’ve not seen much of him. Looks like a kid, compared to Elliott who came and dominated games for us. I gave him a bit of a slagging last season but feels like a game where Bradley Johnson would help get control in the middle. We just have a load of lightweight players in midfield now.
  18. We’re getting overrun by a Richie Smallwood midfield. A good manager gets so much more out of Nyambe, Travis, Rothwell. Depressing seeing another season unfold like this knowing nothing will change. Just hope there are 3 teams worse than us.
  19. Agree, he doesn’t seem to have the bite, but look who he has around him. Our midfield is non-existent.
  20. I’ve seen better first touches down at Chorley than most of this lot. Utterly appalling. I’ve don’t think I’ve seen Brereton control it in under 3 touches.
  21. History states otherwise (albeit not quite 6 in a row)….
  22. Can any of our Irish supporters shed any light as to whether iFollow is available over there as part of the overseas package? I assume so, and maybe just excludes sky sports matches
