I like Nyambe but I agree he often lacks an end product / poor decision making in the final 3rd. It can be frustrating when he’s playing wing back…But if he improved there he’d be above our level.

Rothwell is the best player on the pitch. Overall we’re the better team and they don’t look much danger so far.

Good start anyway….beat Stoke and you’d hope for a great atmosphere at PNE. Coventrys next 4 fixtures are all against top 8 teams too so the Top 6 should be ours at the half way point if we do our job.

Looking at our remaining fixtures this calendar year, I'd be extremely disappointed if we're not sat in the Top 6 on New Years Day: Peterborough (H) - 22nd in the league Stoke (A) - 4th in the league Preston (H) - 16th in the league Bournemouth (A) - 2nd in the league Birmingham (H) - 15th in the league Hull (A) - 21st in the league Barnsley (H) - 23rd in the league 7 games left before New Year and we play 3 of the bottom 4 (3 worst teams in the division excluding Derbys point deduction) and only 2 teams ahead of us. We will be favourites in 5 of those 7 matches and need to show it. A minimum of 13 points hopefully, and that should set the 2nd half of the season up nicely! However, I do recall a similar feeling last Xmas though when we only got 1 point from Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield and Birmingham (all below us), and worse still, the Christmas before, we were 1 point outside the playoffs and had the ticket offer on the Wigan game, Dack picked up his injury and we subsequently picked up 2 points from Wigan (H), Birmingham (H), Huddersfield (A) and Forest (A) and in the space of 8 days we went from 8th to 13th in the league.....so I'm not holding on to too much hope!

Horrendous commentary. “They’re playing against one of the best sides in the league” blah blah blah. We’re at home, midweek and losing 6-0….regardless of who we’re playing we should be getting pelters from the comms here.

I hold on to hope that a battering live on TV might just do it (although it’s 3am in Pune)….then I remember that Mowbray survived these two runs…

Thought Edun has looked about the only bright spark today….but that was awful defending. You’ll not see a worse performance from a midfield 3 all season as Travis, Johnson and Rothwell tonight. As bad as I can remember. Maybe since Murphy was plodding around the middle.

Yeah, I’ll try and dig it out though I can’t see it anywhere yet. It was the Sky Sports interview pre-match. He also said something along the lines of “no doubt I’ll get pelters on social media for that comment if he scores 2 or 3 here” 🤔

Mowbray did say pre-match that he doesn’t have a plan for Mitrovic. True to his word anyway given Nyambe was marking him on corners.

They’re nothing special at the back, but they could easily put 5 on us here regardless. Stupid mistakes for the goal, Rothwell for the first and poor marking choices on the 2nd. We are playing with 10 men though. Put Buckley where Johnson is and put Khadra or Butterworth in the front 3. Either way, Johnson needs hooking. He’s so far off the pace.

Absolutely horrendous by Rothwell both giving it away and defending. Let’s hope Rangers etc. are all watching

False 9 Update: It’s Buckley

They’ve just said that we’re yet to beat a team in the top half this season (imagine they mean the current top half). Shows what usually happens to us in these matchups under Mowbray!!

Fulham by 2 goals. We never beat anyone ahead of us, and certainly not when televised! Hopefully it’s not Buckley as a false 9. I’d prefer Rothwell in the front 3 than Buckley. We’ll have some pace up there with Dolan, Diaz and Rothwell. Edit: interesting that Downing just said Diaz almost went on loan to Holland. I don’t remember hearing about that.

I was at the Coventry game and I was convinced I saw Wilder in and around the directors lounge area. Said it to my brother who was with me but it didn’t make much sense to me why he’d be there, so just assumed it was his doppelgänger.

Depressingly we had a 28 goal striker and Harvey Elliott last year and still managed to finish 15th. Glad I dodged the trip tonight, like you say, great effort for all those who travelled.
