  1. How is that fella still our captain? Has zero traits of a good defender / leader. Hopefully the last season we see him in our shirt but I won’t count on it
  2. True, and I guess they're a different team now to the 1st half of the season. Never the less, I think every club will have similar feelings around 'I'm nervous for this fixture'. Ideally you want to be playing someone mid-table and nothing to play for (like us tonight!)
  3. We may well be, but I think if we are, there will still be a few teams between us and the relegation spots, so it would require a large swing (with Huddersfield away at Ipswich we need to hope they're still in with a sniff of automatics). Hopefully we get the job done tonight!
  4. Isn't that contradictory to some extent? Saying other clubs have kind fixtures, yet you're worried about our home match vs the 3rd worst team in the division who have a -31 goal difference. 1 win from our remaining 5 and we're safe. No chance are 3 of Birmingham, Wednesday, Huddersfield or Plymouth getting to 50 points, which they'd need if we get to 49 due to our GD. I actually think 2 draws does it on 48 points for us.
  5. I wonder what the contract with Sodexo is. If they had half a brain between them, then there would be a clause depending on ST sales i.e. if we sell 8k, 10k, 12k, 15k+ season tickets we should be getting different income from Sodexo. It's bad enough they just offload all that to any old 3rd party, but financially it gives us no incentive to have more people in the ground if it's just a fixed fee regardless.
  6. I guess we can thank Adam Wharton for helping us tick over for another year or two. Next accounts will have wages down and Wharton money so I’d imagine will be below that £7m buffer but who knows with the Venkys cooked books. The big wigs would have known our situation in January so I guess that explains why we were desperate to get him out the door to the first club who came knocking
  7. We owe £4m in player purchase instalments that could rise to £6m. Who the fuck is that on? We haven’t signed anyone for years.
  8. I think a similar paragraph was in Burnley’s latest figures too. Not sure it’s anything particularly standing out to previous, and it’ll likely be in most Championship clubs reports as they ‘chase the dream’ of the big money league. English Football is just so unsustainable. Can’t be long until it all blows up.
  9. Yeah I agree, prior 2 years saw our best opportunity to restore the base but the clown in charge as always got it wrong (here buy a 5 game bundle instead where you can save £1) Like you say, why would anyone want to part with their hard earned to these muppets who have cocked up 3 consecutive transfer windows by not doing their job properly even though they realistically work a handful of days a year.
  10. Yeah, a draw against them would mean only 4 games for Wednesday to gain 5 points on us. Would defo take that, though I’d hope we don’t set up that way
  11. Only 2 more points needed in my opinion. With 5 games left, if we get to 48 it means Birmingham or Wednesday need 7 points from 5 so can only lose max 2 matches each. Thats not even taken account of the other 5 teams below us. Good point and we’re very close to being safe.
  12. Fans loving him on socials. If he was in a United shirt he’d have his call up already…..cough *Mainoo* cough Sort of proud, also just hits home that he should be in a Rovers shirt in the prem instead
  13. I have a sneaky feeling we'll get something from this. Saints are now in a 'playing for nothing' mentality until May, and if any other team could match us for a soft under-belly it's these guys. There is more on the line for us, so hopefully we play that way. Surprised to see that Rothwell, Smallbone, Sulemana and Walker-Peters were all on the bench on Monday for them. They would walk into most Championship teams. Rothwell in particular had a spell where he looked steady for Bournemouth in the Prem so i'm surprised to see he doesn't play much now.
  14. Leicester make £90m loss last year, and that includes both Fofana and Maddison transfers (as they extended the period of publishing results to include Maddison which sounds dodgy alone). They had the biggest wage bill outside of the ‘big 6’ and still got relegated. An average wage of £90k per week per player!! Based on what I read, even with promotion they’d have to find another £45m before June to avoid a points deduction in the prem, without promotion god knows what that number is but they’ll be in absolute free-fall. It’ll be tough cheering for Leeds, but Leicester really do not deserve promotion like this (I think Forest did similar and got up). Then again Leeds probably have similar accounts too. thread from the fans discussion if it’s if any interest to anyone https://www.foxestalk.co.uk/topic/134474-accounts-2223/page/4/#comments
  15. Yep, fair play to them. Would love them to pip either Leeds or Leicester to a top 2 spot.
  16. He’s had a few in this thread in particular but yes he is player of the year in the “without Szmodics” market for me. Noticeable how shit we were vs Swansea, Millwall, Plymouth without him and how much improved we’ve been against Boro, Ipswich, Sunderland since he came back in.
  17. Have we actually recruited anyone in the last 3 windows? 😄 I just remember deadline day cock-ups
  18. Yeah I agree with that. I feared the worst after back to back home draws and shocking displays against Millwall and Plymouth. But we’ve much improved since then - personally I think it’s because we ditched the useless 5 at the back, but also maybe because we got Tronstad back, and then Hedges and JRC too
  19. 4-0 down and this clown is doing this 😂😂😂 he’s a shit Robbie Savage
  20. Drink it in lads and lasses. We’ve had some seriously shit days recently so let’s enjoy this for all we can. We’re safe and we’ll be heading to Burnley again next year Venkys Out
  21. Amazed how much space Szmodics had for both goals, both basically from the same blade of grass. Sunderland must well and truly be on the beach. We’ve certainly been the better team. Let’s hope it’s more of the same for the next 45
  22. He certainly is, keeping fit is his biggest issue unfortunately. But we always look a better team with him on the pitch
  23. Hold on and win this with a few other results going our way and we’re as good as safe!
