I read that we generated revenue of £2.45m last year from 9.3k season tickets and 409 half season tickets, which works out an average ~£250 a ticket, i.e. weighted between adult/senior/kid (allegedly the highest revenue since relegation). To make the exact same revenue and get 15k sales the average price would have to be £163. I'd imagine that would be about £200/£150/£100/£75 tiers for adults/seniors/kids etc. (or at worst £230 adult which could be branded as £10 per game) Personally, I think it's a no-brainer that we'd sell 5k extra if it was priced at £200 compared to £379/£429 (we've seen 16k+ with walk ons in consecutive weeks at £25/£30 a match - along with what we know Bolton/PNE sell). Obviously you'd lose matchday ticket revenue as you'd get less walk-ons, that probably equates to around £750k (which you could make back by adding it to the season ticket prices i.e. charge £250/£175/£125/£75 It just shows it's lazy, outdated thinking by those in charge. They COULD make the change, make it affordable, fill Ewood, improve our atmosphere, rebuild the team in the community. They just can't be bothered doing it.

Excellent news. Some of us having been calling for a midfield 2 of Wharton and JRC for months. Would make us very competitive next year if we can fill the front 2/3 with quality

Probably because we barely spend any time in the box. We just pass it around the outside of the box, with no striker in the middle. -

Looks absolutely fine for FFP. I think it is about £35m you get over a rolling 3 year period, so we have a decent bit of room in that there. Obviously no player sales last year nor-training ground so it could potentially be £15m loss in 22/23 (a bit off-set with extra revenue from Sky / Cup Run etc.). Either way, there shouldn't be any issues next year. The Wages/Turnover still needs to come down further mind you. Be interesting to see where it is once the latest crop of senior players have left. Not sure how much extra we get from the new TV deal in the future, but realistically that should bring us down to around a £5m-£10m or so loss a year if run correctly. Albeit lots of caveats around match day income not decreasing because of it and not changing spending because of it. -
Blackburn Rovers now £429!! Four Hundred and Twenty Nine Pounds. Current prices for our Lancashire rivals below (some were even cheaper prior) Burnley: WAITING LIST! Bolton: £299 (sold over 15k!) PNE: £280 (until June 5th!) Huddersfield: £249 (not really rivals but similar demographic / finances) - until 30th June So we are now £180 more expensive than Huddersfield and £149 more expensive than PNE for the next month What a waste of space Waggot truly is! Early bird expiring 1 or 2 months ahead of everyone else. 1 Adult + 10 year old at Rovers now £489 vs £368 Bolton, £298 Huddersfield, £280 PNE!

Yeah, most years the 3 relegated teams are competitive, but outside of themselves I don't think anyone is substantially better than us bar Boro. If Boro go up too then we have no excuses (providing we have a competent transfer window) -

In the interest of Blackburn Rovers 23/24, hopefully Boro go up in the playoffs as they are the best team, on and off the pitch. Luton I can see regressing next year, especially if they lose a few. Coventry will likely lose Gyokores and maybe Hamer, and it's unlikely they will reinvest much of it Sunderland will lose their loan players who have been the difference and have a full window under Mowbrays meddling. Nothing to fear from those 3 if we actually back JDT this summer. Add in that West Brom are now skint, Norwich and Watford are final year of parachute paymements so shit or bust for them and below us it doesn't seem many will make improvements. Swansea and Stoke probably the two, maybe Hull, as well as an inevitable good season for Ipswich. Should be very open, if we fix our glaring issues (everyone on the board has pretty much agreed with positions that need filling) then I'd say Top 6 is an expectation next season (5 non-relegated teams finished top 6 this year). -

“I’m going to say 2 big negatives about the players…but they’re both the type of signing we should me making” You don’t half come out with some twaddle. -
Season 2023/24…what’s in store ?
superniko replied to den's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Keep JDT, Buy a striker, 2 wingers, a CM and a LB who are all ambitious starters, keep hold of Adam Wharton and move Rankin-Costello forward and then I’ll feel optimistic about next season. -

Ipswich could be similarly competitive next year I think. -

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was in JDTs head and he had a little trial with it -

Were Millwall terrible in the 2nd half or are we a better and more balanced side with Brittain RB, JRC in centre mid and Travis in the dugout? -

Makes no difference for us. Their GD is far superior. If anything another Boro goal basically confirms Mowbray makes it in. -

JRC for me I think in midfield alongside Wharton. Hyam goes hiding too much for me, especially when balls are coming in. Doesn’t feel like a motivator / leader / communicator -

Can’t argue with that much. We may see JRC in midfield here now. Could be the feature for next season -

Our back 4 must be the slowest in the league. For a team who allegedly like full backs going forward, in Pickering and JRC they’re almost pedestrian regarding pace. -

Difference is they took that ‘gamble’ for free…..we paid £8m or something for the privilege! -

Desperately need an upgrade on Pickering, Travis, Hedges, Diaz and Thomas in that 11 if we’re to have any chance next year. Add in that Kaminski should clearly be in over Pears that’s over half the team, quite a big overhaul. -

superniko replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
His call was basically when Pickering was already in the air, and it was outside the box so not sure what he’d planned to do. Regardless, we need an upgrade on Pickering too, and also on Travis who gave it away initially. Those 3 are miles and miles and miles away from Top 6 championship quality -

Let’s hear from those that said “Pears keeps his spot until he makes a mistake” please then after that let’s hear from those “Sell Kaminski and keep Pears as number 1 next year” -
