  1. Ha ha. I use to do Chorley Lynx until they folded. Even sponsored a couple of players. Would not do that at Bollewood Park!
  2. Agree.....a proper game, decent fans and few cheats compared to footie. Come on you Saints (sorry CLB).
  3. I have the same flag boss.....and was photographed on the tops of both Kilimanjaro and Toubkal with it!!
  4. Went to the Spar shop opposite the Old Oak earlier this week and they were encouraging customers to "come in to shop on Christmas Day as we are open for groceries, wine and beer!". God help us.
  5. 2 years ago this place was disgusting. No interest in going back unless they pay me and I have a food taster.
  6. Try the Nabs Head at Samlesbury Bottoms. Good Thwaites and really decent food (good pub grub) at a decent price.
  7. Lyon.....the good old days, got a freebie flight for that one via BA Airmiles. As for Jan I am sure she did a post some 6 months back. I wonder if she does the odd London based game.
  8. My goodness, just look at some of the great MB posters we have lost: Blue Phil, Billy Castell etc etc etc
  9. No , they only do peanuts and crisps !
  10. 3 very poor decisions by the ref including a double knock-on when he was in a perfect position to see. However regardless of the ref the best team on the day won.
  11. As a Leyland lad from the 70's I can assure you that whilst Leyland and Brig have always been PNE strongholds there has ALWAYS been a significant Rovers support. All my mates at Wellfield in Leyland were true blues in the 70's and 80's. ;-)
  12. Went to one of my old favourites last week, the Clog and Billycock.......It was poor. Off to Jamies Kitchen in King Street Manchester tomorrow? Any views please? I have been to Jamies in Liverpool twice and it was disgusting, I will never go again (sounds bit like Ewood and the Venky idiots!) although I was recently in Jamies in Threadneedle Street in London and had a great meal - is it a franchise?
  13. Enjoy, it would be nice for us all to have some feedback. Also look at Bentley's in Swallow street, Piccadilly. Lovely oysters
  14. Must have had a wad off the Venky's to come out with that sh!te. Get a grip Big Col, you are tarnished. Would he fork out for a Season Ticket, or borrow the money for one from some bloke down a local St Annes betting office.
  15. If you like Turkish try Taz. They have about 6 of them in London, including one which is 4 minutes walk from Tottenham Court Rd tube.
  16. Has anyone been to Rossi in Manchester (upper King Street/Spring Gardens). I am there for lunch the week after next......followed by dinner at Northcote Manor and an overnight! I went to Northcote for my Birthday this week and an overnight. As always an absolutely smashing meal and a lovely room. I really do love the place.
  17. Fantastic every tie Ozz, one of my regular favourites.
  18. Jamies place in Liverpool One is disgusting. Probably the worst service, and poorest quality food for many years. I went twice as I though 1st time was a mistake, god the service was even worse 2nd time round. AVOID
  19. I finished that very book last night Colin. I enjoyed it immensely and far more than recent Bryson books which did not live up to his earlier promise. Highly recommended.
  20. I went to Preston Grasshoppers rugby union on Saturday. Good afternoon out with some great company, however dreadful game of huff and puff. Union will always be the bigger game due to sponsorship and being a big game in the home counties and on a UK wide basis. I prefer Rugby League anyway.....far more physical and must faster game, also lots of families (women and children) go and no hassle between opposition fans who often stand together. I prefer League every time.
  21. Abbey, yes it is cheap cheerful and has decent steaks and pizza. Great value.
  22. Yes, I am going with a mate who is a Chesterfield fan, his wife, daughter, father in law and mother in law. Should double the gate Preferred my day out at Preston Hoppers last Saturday.......decent pint of Thwaites, or should I say about 8, I think!
