  1. Its been awful against all teams with the exception of maybe Newcastle and Derby !!
  2. They have sold over 5k according to some reports. I have mates who are long time Villa fans, we have over the years had some great results against them however we have also had some beatings. Oh for the days of the Archibald era when we had a classic 3-2 win over them and they had a young lad called David Platt playing for them. The memories of that match will never be forgotten and rank alongside the many good memories over the ensuing years.
  3. Great line and one which mirrors my view exactly. I don't want to watch football on tv and going to Ewood is a real awful experience these days when we think about all that has gone on in the past 6 and a bit years. I am not renewing my ST for next year and I will simply pick and choose games I fancy going to which undoubtedly will be more away than home. I have been able to enjoy the IPL cricket on SKY, some early season fishing and some good walks over the past few weeks and long may that continue.
  4. well that is a shocker, its us or Forest or maybe Brums players cannot work the magic that Arry has up his sleeve.
  5. Promotion and signings are just a pie in the sky or head in the sand equation. Neither will happen of course. In fact, someone has already mentioned it, Rovers could be down and out by Monday evening and then in administration by Tuesday as it is the only viable option open. If that happens then all loanees will go back to their parent clubs and the youngsters will get a chance to show what they can do for 3 games. Its going to be a huge wake up call next season to the Rovers Fans and those who think all is well (I don't dismiss their opinions btw). 15 points or more adrift next season will see the club struggle on any number of fronts including investment, players, signings, off field activities, shirt sponsor etc and will have a dramatic effect on income NOT to mention the crowds becoming even less, I anticipate we will see sub 8000 home fans next season and even that is an over estimate and all this as both PNE and Bolton move forward and Burnely qualify for Europe just to rub salt in the wounds as we head towards League 2 and a local derby with Chorley. It really is happening folks.
  6. I went to see Elton John at Leigh Sports Arena a couple of years ago and despite his age he was absolutely brilliant catering for all age groups with his song book. I believe that stadiums are far better than the arenas so if your pondering to go then do it, you wont be disappointed. As for those wondering how much the V's will make, get over it, its about musical entertainment NOT football.
  7. Every other team are already certain that there are only 2 spots for relegation to avoid as we have got one sewn up under these clown
  8. Mr Coyle your task is pretty simple. You need to generate a total of 90 points, 30 wins out of 46 or thereabouts with a few draws, that is the size of the task before you. And you need to achieve this in a division that has just seen the likes of Villa, Newcastle and Norwich come down from the Premiership and who are awash with cash and players that should skate it straight back up such is their fan base and such is the set up they all have in place. You also have to be aware of the teams that have come up, Wigan, Burton and Barnsley, all teams that have a good set up and work ethic in place. You should also be aware that we have teams like Leeds, Sheff Wed, Ipswich, Derby, Brighton, Wolves, Forest, Brentford, Cardiff, PNE, Birmingham and Reading, who are all established and all have good set ups at their clubs (leeds apart but who have excelled with the manager appointment of Monk). Where are you going to start with this little conundrum? We have a club without leadership, we have a club with owners who treat the clubs fans with utter contempt, we have absolutely no communication from inside the club, we have a dwindling supporter base, we haven't even had a renewal St packs yet, we have no senior management team off the pitch, we have serious financial issues because we are a club run by complete buffoons and we have a wedge in place between the club and its fans that will take forever to remove such is the overwhelming lack of influence from our Indian owners. So, please OC tell me just how you are going to succeed? I note your recent record and I note that you once managed our inbred neighbours (not that it matters one jot). Its not your relationship with dingle Fc that concerns Rovers fans, it is the lack of success on your CV that does ! I ask myself just who interviewed you for the job? Sylvester that cat or Sylvester the chap in the hot seat. No matter which one it is you really pulled off one hell of an interview to beat the so called top 4 and indeed the so called 40 odd applicants for the job. I would love to know the other candidates scores in interview if you really were the one stand out candidate for the job. Anyhow Good luck mate, your gonna need it. 90 points, 30 wins with a record like your current one. DREAM ON............
  9. No NO and NO Ainsworth is NOT the answer to the managerial issues
  10. Rovers are heading downwards under this current manager changes are needed now
  11. The thing with Radio Rovers, it has a massive part to play at the club. In my opinion it has a number of functions that would seriously help out the club and get the fans behind the team. 1. For those fans who cannot get to the game and who can receive it, the show has a responsibility to provide entertaining match commentary, views and opinions and NOT in a biased manner. So, to change the current style, why not invite a fan onto the commentary to give their perspective ? It would certainly give an objective view of how a fans sees the game rather than relying on the rubbish they spout. 2. Pre match build up. RR are a vital cog in creating atmosphere pre match. With the right build up, right music it can get the fans up for it, it can get the players bouncing and it can create an atmosphere that works for the club and and goes against the opposition. Ewood can be a very loud stadium and the atmosphere can be electric. The current RR serves only to diminish any lingering atmosphere pre match. 3. Pump up the volume 15 minutes before kick off. Adopt a series of music and pick a new final minute anthem that gets us rocking. Bin "the wild rover", its long gone in the past and turns everyone off. We are not wild anymore we are simply a downbeaten club, treading the water until we ultimately sink under the waves unless changes happen. 4. RR does it arse about face. At half time they play better music but by then we are 1-0 down or losing ! 5. At the end they punt out a tune like we have won, trouble is we haven't and the fans are heading home disgruntled ! 6. After match, as long as I can tune in on the frequency, all I hear is the dreadful tones of 2 muppets and no fans. RR should be about the fans not about the two boring punters lamenting on how we failed to win, how well we player or how unlucky we were. Involve the fans and tell how it really is. Stop waxing lyrical about rubbish inept performances. If someone from RR reads this, take note and improve your programme. Move into the year 2015. Pump up the volume with a new set of music, Loud and Proud not boring old crap. Set the standards at the next home game and see what type of atmosphere you can bring to the game. You never know, it might entice GB to try and use tactics to get the best out of his players !!!!!!!! YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE, CHANGE or TURN OFF
  12. Radio Rovers is absolute garbage. Stuck in the past and refusal to move in the current ages. It should be responsible for the atmosphere building pre match instead the fools simply turn us all off. Should be turned off or the programme should be totally rehashed.
  13. After Tuesdays inept programme and effort in the ground they need turning off NOW. Shambles
  14. Radio Rovers is a complete nonsense. Its totally biased and is not fan based at all. RR has a duty to promote a positive atmosphere, it fails miserably. To continually play final countdown just shows they wont move on. They wont change a play list that is simply trashy. They don't listen to fans comments/vies because they are amateurish at best Its time to turn them off for good.
  15. Didnt pay too much interest to the game as I was away for the weekend. Pleased with the point of course and glad that we have evaded a second relegation on the bounce. Very suprised to see the crowd of nearly 20k, that is great news. Despite everything they have done wrong, I ownder if Venkys realise they have been well and truly raped by scum inside our club and now reaslise there is much goodness to be had IF they listen to football people rather than charlatans
  16. Quite simply MASSIVE RESULT. Well done Rovers. The cleansing begins now
  17. TBH Rovers will concede straight after the second half begins. No PRIDE NO HEART NO NOTHING
  18. Come on did anyone expect a Rovers team with fight, pride, the ability to go out and defend, the ability to score or just the ability to go out and play simple passing football ? The whole set up stinks, its a disgrace, its truly shocking and its sad BUT this is Venkys baby, They should be put down for treating it the shabby way they have. Relegation is a certainty after tonights lack of effort and the game isnt at half time.
  19. Not going as I am away for the weekend. I hope of course we win but for me, I see yet another home defeat after the capitulation at Watford and who knows what at Millwall tonight ! Enjoy the walk of shame at the end of the game
  20. Despite having players back from suspension and injury, the players havenot got the pride to go an sneak a win. This game will require heart, bravery and defiance and a will to win. 3 points are needed desperately and Millwall will be hurting after their thumping at Huddersfield.
  21. 4th game versus Millwall this season. 2 losses and a draw has to be a Rovers win by the odd goal.
  22. It wasnt all a bed of roses boys and girls. Some of the football on offeer was frighteningly poor BUT lets just take the points and look up rather than down. I called it right with a Rovers win by the odd goal. Just reflecting on yet another atrocious season, my final visit top Ewood this year and Cardiff going up. Rovers stand some 30 points off Cardiff and it got me thinking just how Rovers havent got themselves at least into the top 5 this season. Ipswich a lost 2 points Leeds a lost 2 points Charlton a lost 2 points Wolves home lost 3 points Forest a lost 2 points Derby a lost 2 points Huddersfield a lost 2 points Brum h lost 2 points Bolton h lost 3 points Millwall h lost 3 points Burnley a lost 2 points Cardiff h lost at least 1 point Blackpool a lost 1 point Boro a lost 3 points Wolves a lost 3 points Charlton h lost 3 points Brighton h and a lost 6 points Leeds h lost 2 points Peterboro h lost 3 points Burnley h lost 2 points Sheff wed a lost 3 points Yes folks that a whopping 50 points that we have lost (IMO) this season. Comfortably league winners even with losing a few games. Food for thought eh ?????
  23. Going to the game and it will be the last of the season for me. I can honestly and openly say that I havent missed Ewood at all this season. I have been to more away games than home and if truth be known I have enjoyed my match days doing other things. As it currently stands I have no intention of purchasing a season ticket next year and it will take a major change to even make me reconsider my stance. Back to Tuesday, I think Rovers might just sneak this game. Anyone thinking Lowe can play CB makes me shudder, so Bowyer and co dont even think about it. He cant head a ball let alone pass it. GIVET HAs to be put alongside Dann, nothing else will do. A very tense night is in store Rovers to take it by the odd goal.
  24. sad news indeed.
  25. Opening offer a fiver !
