  1. you can delete it it has just been explained, the ref is still a muppet though
  2. The idiotic ref has booked Ashley Cole twice and failed to send him off ! poll mk11
  3. corner or not ROVERS shoul dhave had the nouse to have buried this wham team out of sight. We were simply unable to produce a quality ball to the forwards or put the ball in the right areas to score. tugay was anonymous for 30 minutes in the second half bentley needs to play for the whole half and not half of a half the axe was simply not a the races today and his bad positional sense cost us in the centre Sergio played well and will go on to beter things for Rovers given the chance In defence, we saw that Gray is vulnerable at best, when Rovers have a weak left back we always seem to struggle as it pulls one of andre/zurab out of the middle leaving us vulnerable through the centre. Lucas played solid as usual but when going forward there were massive gaps down the right. I am struggling to see just how Rovers are gonna cope with a team like Manure on the horizon followed by spuds. They both have players that can destroy a defence especially a flat defence like Rovers. One thing is certainly being made clear. Outgoing are Gray,Matteo and Todd and that has to be a substantial amount of saving on the wage bill. That money needs to be invested as quickly as possbile in a midfielder that can play the ball, run and defend. It really is becoming an URGENT situation in that part of the field. Jim you need to wake up from your slumber, wireless went out eons ago, we are now in the year 2006 and very close to 2007. wireless is a thing now associated with remote computers. We have moved safely into the digital age.
  4. After being so positive about Europe, I am actually really concerned about this game. I cannot imagine a team like Rovers surviving a troubled week with a win at home. We really hav to think about the formation or this one. friedle Todd Zurab Andre Neill Savage Bentley Tugay Peter or MGP McCarthey Jeffers Gally has to be considered for the wide right berth should Bentley replace Tugay worried now....
  5. Before we get the usual drivel on here lets put one thing straight. THERE IS ONLY ONE TEAM IN THE FA PREMIER LEAGUE THAT CAN GO TO THEIR BOGEY GROUND AND DOMINATE POSSESSION TO THE TUNE OF 65%-35% AND STILL MANAGE TO LOSE. THAT TEAM IS BLACKBURN ROVERS 2-1 is a sorry defeat against a very poor team, injury to Roberts as well makes me think that this week and in particular our favourite month of November is going to be HELL. heaven help us
  6. Striker shortage for Thursday me thinks No midfield attacker if Emerton is sidelined, Bentley may have to come in field if Rovers are to produce a victory in this game
  7. That has to be one of the most lethargic first half performances from Rovers for a while, there is truly a lack of creativity within the team and there is a sinking feeling that with Gray this defence will not cope with either Sheringham or when Harewood enters as his replacement. All Whams play is targetting Gray's lack of football defensiveness and height. Bentley has the making of a great player but why cant he see through Mccartney ? He can beat him every time but just seems not wanting too. Tugay is simply too overcrowded by reo-Coker as The Axe is too far off him and offers not an ounce of protection. McCarthey needs to link with Jeffers NOT come deep as it leave 4 defenders with one attacker. Positives - only a 1 goal deficit at the moment, Sergio can get the better of Spector, Rovers have the capability of getting a point but its whether they are up for it. Negatives - plenty. The defence cannot cope with a 40y old ! They are wide open every time down the left flank. MHughes - take Gray off for McEveley and even the defence up. Once Tugay tires then enter Gally, our Saviour for the day. heres hoping for a better second half from Rovers.
  8. The stock answer is NO I havent seen them play. I simply relied on the experts view in the paper report and based my view of the game on that. I have not got a lot of time for French football or indeed the French at all. In fact I wouldnt care less if they closed France down and sold it to the lowest bidder, its that much of a shithole, is full of French and instead of the tricolour as its national flag they should simpy replace it with a single yellow piece of cloth. That would sum up my thoughts and views of the French
  9. "I love 1-0 wins" that says it all about how they will approach the game at Ewood. Rovers have to approach this game in the sensible fashion, and I dont see the French coming to Ewood to attack. They will probably adopt a 4-5-1 formation, sit back like the French do (and did in the wars) and hide as much as possible. 3-0 Rovers, and that is an early prediction
  10. 2-0 Rovers happy Friday morning sees Rovers guaranteed qualification for the next rounds Friday also sees the news headlines that Bumley have been closed down, the turd sold for a recycling tip to be opened, all the players and staff placed on the dole and that name "Burnley" erased from the annals of English football as a dire mistake
  11. 78 quid for coach travel, ferry and match ticket is a reasonable price. However, I am not certain that spending time on the coach from 0430 to 1830, going to the match then driving straight back is worth that amount. Aftr all for a flight, hotel and match ticket its costing a mere 92 quid within that amount, guaranteed entertainment from Jordan and the lap dancers, access to many a bar, a good nights kip and we still arrive back only a few hours after the coach arrives back at Ewood Now, which one would you choose ?
  12. Well a Leyland point of view sees nothing but positives from last nights game, even though we lost. In that I wont even contrive to mention the awful weather. Firstly, a crowd of nearly 15000 was a pleasant surprise, well done to thos e who wwent and despite the result Rovers more than held their own with a vastly expensive and experienced Chelsea reserve team. My personal view of the match is simple, Rovers had to rest certain players. Tugay was out of the squad, Savage injured and no need to run the risk of anything serious. Very surprised to see both Emeton and Neill play the full game but Emerton played the type of football he has done recently, my MOTM. Nice to see Henchoz get a game, although clearly short of match practice, his inclusion shows its the end for Todd in his Blackburn career. He looked comfortable with Zurab. McEveley, clearly inexperienced against Robben first half, came out of his shell and had a fine second half. I think Bentley can do a job in the middle, he has the skill and the artistry to develop alongside Tugay. MGP faded in and out again and was unlucky not to score with a 40 yard free kick, after that though he did little else. he should have gone off earlier to be replaced by Peter. the Axe was solid as usual but gave quite a few balls away putting us in trouble. Very surprised that both Nonda and McCarthey started. Last night was ideal to play Roberts and Jeffers to give them a full 90 minutes. Roberts got quite a size of the second half due to Nonda injury and Jeffer got all of 4 minutes ! A wasted opportunity for rest and match fitness. I would like tomention the young lad Peter. He did more in 45 minutes than MGP has done in 6 games. he can run, he can pass, he can shoot and his crossing is fantastic. I would like this lad to get a decent run in the side if he is allowed to be developed. certainly one for the future who could blossom under Hughes and co. At the match, I saw Gally, he was not included due to illness (allegedly). He expects to be fit for the weekend. A thoroughly bloody nice lad. The sight of Chelsea benches value amazed me, a cool 57 million worth of players sat on their arses watching the game. Behind them, hiding in the warm boxes a further 50million pounds ! As stated Rovers coped well enough and I am glad we didnt get punished too much. Not mentioning tactics or formations, jsut glad to be concentrating on Europe, the League and the FA Cup
  13. Does noone else think that this clown takes the term "white man" to the extreme?? I have never seen such a pasty looking wimp EVER
  14. got a ticket ten quid for first taker JW Upper Blackburn End owner unable to attend due to work (not me)
  15. "Like it or not we have not the long term resources or staying power of the likes of such perrrenial 2nd Div luminaries like Sheff Wed, Derby, Forest, Brum, Wolves, Leicester, Leeds, Sunderland etc" Everyone of those clubs TND have spent, bust and burned BIGSTYLE. Rovers have outstayed them all because they are a well run club, have a sound footing with a sensical business plan. None of the above mentioned clubs come anywhere near to the way Rovers are run. You can add the following clubs as well, Norwich, Palace,Sheff Utd,Barnsley,Charlton, newcastle,Boro,Spurs,Pompy,City,Wigan,Bolton and so on. Even the likes of Everton, wham and the other so called pretenders that have a bigger rating than Rovers WISH they were as soundly run as BRFC. YOU should be grateful for what we have. BRFC are a totally different proposition to that of 2 years ago. The whole club is on a change and it matters not that Uncle Jack is no longer with us nor that a sugar daddy is not taking a financial interest in BRFC (yet). Rovers are solid both on and off and it needs ALL supporters to get behind he club. Listening to the way you are aggravating Scotty is purile. Everyone has a point to make and its hight time YOU accepted it. BTW if I see you in Amsterdam I will buy you a pint or a litre
  16. I wonder how many of htat team tonight will feature on Sunday ? Konchesky is apparently suspended, Benyaoun is injured, Harewood deadlegged, forwards goal shy, defence annihilated. All points towards a Rovers defeat on t'telly
  17. I think I have read the bolton are without Nolan for his double yellow card in the midweek game so I cant really understand why Savage isnt banned if thats correct. in any case it suits us to get out of this comp at this stage as long as its a close defeat if you understand my meaning
  18. top penalty takers Le Tissier Shearer Phil Neal - quality from the spot for Liverpool. Ally McCoist for Rangers missed very few for Rovers fans anyone remember Ken Beamish taking pens ?
  19. united have already sold 8000 tickets for Ewood as is stated in their last match day programme. that almost guarantees another 28000 fans at that game, quickly followed by a sell out Boxing day game at home to Liverpool thieves, I would say a better than expected return on those two games thatn last year. Rovers now have an ideal opportunity with a game such as charlton/watford/fulham to seek the school kid element with parents as long as the team is still doing well. They have got the right attitude with european games and i am sure we will see 20000 plus crowds for those 2 home games. The old gate debate will rumble forever, it will only ever reach the proportions of 1994/95/96 should we eveer attain a new buyer/investor. I think Rovers have finally listened to their fans and are addressing the problem with various options. i only hope they dont forget the good old ST Holder
  20. oh dear that second paragraph has just condemned Rovers to another defeat at the Boleyn ground 2-0 wham
  21. repetative i know but does he not miss the CHELSEA game instead of wham ?
