  1. Just back and wow what a roller coaster ride we are on. Negatives - first half was poor all round from back to front with very little created until the 45th minute when we score. Defensively we are the creator of all our own problems and these need ironing out. second half and I am referring to minute 75-85 we went like jelly on the rocks across the back 4 and the middle 4, this has to stop otherwise we will concede vital space, possession and ultimately goals. Positives - whatever the tea lady gave Jeffers at half time should remain a secret. What we saw in the second half is a player that can move, that can run and that can work the ball wonderfully well. Goals and chances. Surely Dr C, Benni and Roberts as well as Jeffers will bag hatfuls if we can create chances like we did the second half. The crowd reaction was great again. Its pleasing to see those that do turn up actually shout encouragement. There is teamwork and unity all across our team, for me Lucas is the real leader on that pitch and deserved his MOTM award. Brown, nervous entry, great penalty save and an even better save 5 minutes later. Take a bow son. Roberts is a sight to scare any defender and he and Benni should have had 6 between them. Cant wait for him to get to full fitness. Tugay again deserves a mention, just how we can replace his ball skills worries me. Brett continures to impress. Happy days 2-1 fully deserved. for those moaning about football at Ewood, take a visit, you will like what you see
  2. thats funny that, a disaster ? the man is a total nobhead
  3. Who ate all the faffin pies ?????????????? THEY did the pie eating munching muppeets my mate who is a pie eating fan of wigan seems to think Rovers are gonna come a cropper tomorrow, 3-0 wigan he says. In my repsonse I just told him he was a fat twit and to stay away from me and my mates tomorrow both pre and post match 1-0 Rovers, 9 bookings, 2 sendings off, a very poor ref, 1200 pie eaters and a crowd of around 18790 !
  4. gumboots instant remedies for you to consider get them to clean the bogs the strap, pump or cricket bat detention ruler across the palm of the hand triple homework essay on burnley for 5000 words (and not allowed to use the word shithole more than once) your in the driving seat
  5. well Marseille bit the dust. a few french, dutch and belgiums left, shalke out a trip to rangers would be good and bruge home to 2 lesser teams would be jsut ace
  6. Back home in Leyland, smile on my face beer in the hand finally the ghost is laid to rest. Following on from our trek across Europe Rovers finally advanced to the group stages in confident style. A 2-0 home win, 4-2 agg score, clean sheet and a great effort from the supporting public. there were nearly 19000 home fans in the ground for a home European match, 32 from Salzburg ! Mark Hughes and co will be impressed. Rovers, however, can not be too over confident as they still looked a little shaky at the back at times. Wigna for sure will punish us if we allow Camara and heskey that amount of space across the back four on Sunday. The positives - another clean sheet, Tugay was simply immense - his pass to Lucas was pure genius, Lucas showed he has the bottle to be our leader with a fantastic performance, MGP appears to be back into form, Andre and Kishni were good, getting better and still at the same time looking miles apart, Savo was his usual self with a powerful running performance until he left with an injury, the two centre forwards worked their little cotton socks off TOGETHER and Bentley ? Goal of the season NO DOUBT. Referee was a complete NONCE Well done Rovers, into the group stages and 4 more guaranteed matches. Roll on Sunday then Tuesday
  7. hoodoo to be broken 2-0 Rovers Crowd over 14800 Happy Days are here again
  8. are we averse to having a little bit of luck or the rub of the green ? Of course Rovers will ride their luck in games, we have another 32 of them in the league, at least 1 in Europe, at least 1 in the League Cup and one in the FA Cup
  9. one of the biggest games in the draw - a surefire bet for tv. guaranteed low attendance guaranteed moanalot will moan guaranteed exit ? Think not, I see Rovers knocking them out LITERALLY
  10. got to say its a great result for Rovers. Rovers now have some momentum building with the European game on Thursday quickly followed by Wigan at home. Bring it on.
  11. well folks the legal view is pretty simple. Panorama have not shown everything that has been recorded on tape, they cant have otherwise they would jeopordise the whole investigation, and if anyone believes there is just a 60 minute programme to go off in the enquiry they are mistaken. The whole corrupt business of receiving "bungs" is akin to money laundering under POCA not to mention tax evasion. So I think there will be more interest than that of an FA/Premier League enquiry. HMR and C wil almost certainly now have their beady eyes all over the persons named in that enquiry. Gartside and Bolton do not paint a pretty picture, Harry Redknapp clearly has some serious questions to answer and BFS seems to be out on a limb courtesy of his idiotic son who clearly came across as flash big know it all when really he is a classic example of a cling on. I see a few more squirming managers coming out of the woodwork now to get their oar in before it hits the headlines, enter Souness...... A big surprise is the involvement of Liverpool, and I am not surprised that Chelsea were involved in manipulation of the youngster from Middlesboro. Bring it on..... I cant wait to see the final outcome
  12. Quite agree with some of the transfers mentioned but I bet noone else thinks of this one. keeping hold of Tim Flowers and selling Shay Given ! Rovers should have kept Shay and got rid of Tim when the opportunity arose
  13. They really took the best bit out of the fans yesterday CANCELLING season tickets and selling their seats ! Reason given = training new staff ! first season ever I missed a home kick off and not very amused
  14. every goal scored in the european games has been shown on Eurosport in the champions league and eufa cup round up INCLUDING ROVERS
  15. Rovers must start with Benni and Nonda up front. 4-4-2 is the formation to beat this lot. I would also use Mokoena as right back if Reid is not fit, allowing Emerton to move into right midfield. A personal view would see Rovers winning 1-0 but knowing Rovers following a positive result they will probaly dominate with 80% possession and lose 1-0 ! Its that type of season
  16. Perhaps a slightly misguided view after a monstrous week in the life of being a Rovers supporter. Rovers were obviously always going to have a hangover from European football, its well documented that EVERY team that plays in Europe suffers. My day started badly as soon as I reached the turnstyle. My season ticket was rejected as some muppet trainee had cancelled my season ticket. Irate is not a word that I would have used and having had a bollocking by the local old bill I eventually managed to enter the JW Upper 5 minutes after the kick off. I was NOT impressed. Initially Rovers looked lethargic, a little probing and some stupid defensive errors made me think that defeat was inevitable. That changed as we got some luck and went 1-0 up. It was quickly changed when from nowhere the defence opened up wider than the local dyke as Barton was allowed to equalise. At that point there was only one winner and it wasn't Rovers. Once again, a Manchester team suffered at the hands of an MGP free kick, 2-1 just before half time. Planning on a cuppa and a bite to eat I made my way to the exit just in time to see Rovers commit hari Kari and score again, this time in their own net, 2-2 was not the way I expected half time and at that I had totally lost any appetite for a pint and a pie. As the team emerged for the second half, I was amazed to see no Tugay and even more amazed to see Mokoena at the heart of the midfield. Someone somehwere had reckoned he was what Rovers needed and by christ just how right was that person. Aaron and Nonda transformed the Rovers formation. At last the centre of defence was sealed and we had a bit of steel to cope with Barton's rampaging through the middle. As the game progressed I had the feeling of Salzburg,a late goal or something similar to really ruin my weekend. But, alas, my fears were unfounded as firstly Benni slotted home after a quick throw it and then to round it off Gally fired in a classic finish to condemn a very poor city outfit to yet another travelling defeat. 4-2 was not the score I expected but it was however, gratefully received. My take on the game is rather simple. At times Rovers were poor, were sluggish and didnt have the appetite for a fight. We allowed to many balls to be given away and were non existant in the attacking mode. Without Brad, just where would Rovers be ? Lucas, Zurab, Andre and Emerton as a back four doesnt worjk for me. Lucas is great, Emerton is more than adequate. Its the two central pairing that worries me. In midfield, Tugay continues to baffle. He CAN pass the ball and he DOES give too many balls away. Savage was great, his normal self, Bentley did oaky but he again flatters to deceive. MGP is the original enigma. Please change your name back to Pederson. Up front, Jeffers was way off the mark and Benni was short of support in the first half. A change in the second saw Nonda enter the fray coupled with Mokoena coming on for Tugay. What a difference ! I think that Nonda has shown he has appetite, he can run, he is comfortable and will work well with Benni. We have also seen that Mokoena has the skill to play a part in this Rovers team. We have also seen that basic footballing principles that Rovers have shown in the past 12 months need honing. 4-2 does not hide the fact that we were fortunate to get 3 points. We now have 3 games that will form our season. Boro away followed by Wigan and Bolton at home. 9 points from that little lot PLUS a European win will see Rovers take a massive stride forward. Play Up Rovers as the hard games are looming.
  17. anyone notice the potential leap on offer in the table ? Bottom to 9th with a 1-0 win Thats all we want
  18. After the trip to Salzburg, we have found a classic for Rovers to walk out to Dance with the Devil by Cozy Powell Its a tremendoud little number with a loud drum and distinct percussion background Its the future
  19. Believe me, and please feel free to speak to Mike aka Captain Mike or Preston Blue, this was a unique opportunity to make a fantastic trip via road through Europe. Although totally enjoyable and tiresome I WILL NOT be contemplating such another trip by road. We considered all travelling options including the coach from Ewood. However, our car won the day due to costs and the ability to do pretty much as we pleased. The trip was arduous but enjoyable, the sights were simply amazing. The company was great and I enjoyed conversing with Mike who is a genuinely nice fella. My two mates Nick and Mark also enjoyed his pleasant company. For people who think the autobahns are great, well yes they are but only when the traffis not in chaos ! For me, I just hope (and I dont mean to sound selfish), that we can draw a few teams a little closer by for the away games. I reiterate, Salzburg is a fantastic place with lovely people - we didnt have any snags ANYWHERE.
  20. please can anyone wake me from my slumber and tel me how I can put my photo's on the website ta
  21. Having driven over 2000 miles to the city that is Salzburg I want to say that I had a fantastic trip although as I will explain the last minute goal left me feeling like we had been defeated. Myself, Mark and Nick with the company of Preston Blue aka Mike, set off from Blighty Wednesday afternoon for journey through Europe, yes, we, members of BRFC were on the march following the route taken by our forefathers many years ago, showing our colours as we set foot on the lands were thousands had been slaughtered int he dark days of the wars. First step, the ferry from Dover to Dunkirk, went smoothly as we landed in France in the early hours of Thursday morning for the 700 or so mile trek through France,Belgium,Holland and Germany. Rovers flag and scarf visibly showing that part of The Rovers Army had taken "the enemy" by surprise and had landed as we reached out to conquer Europe. Initially we encountered no resistance as armed with Satnav, a mixture of 60's,70' and 80's counds in the cd changer, we set about reaching our destination. The French and Belgiums were put to the sword as we made inroads to Germany, as usual there was no resistance from the Dutch as our Range Rover set about devouring the mileage between us and our final destiny. This all changed about 0915hrs, carnage was all about us as the Germans set about stalling us from reaching Salzburg. Firstly, they employed delaying tactics by using kamikazi motorists to block the road, as a last resort, it appeared that we had managed to bypass this little lot by taking a route famed only by the resistance in the 40's only to find out that the Germans had then gone and done the dirty by destroying the satnav signalling system. This part of the Rovers Army had suffered a typical dirty German tactic. Fear not said Mike, as we invaded a little German Town on the outskirts of Koln. Our first encounter with the locals was on the garage forecourt as Captain Mike engaged nhimself in finding alternative routes of attack to reach our goal. A little conversation with the local yokel failed to provide us with our exact location in Germany although when trying to explain that we were enroute to Austria, he remained ignorant by thinking we were actually trying to find AUSCHWITZ ! Success was achieved as further lines of communication failed. Capt Mike, a man not to be messed around, rallied his weary troops. the engine roared into life and we were back on track. It was clear that the dirty German tactics were not going to delay this small blue and white attachment joining the rest of the troops in Austria. In need of replenishment, Red Bull and Lucozade aided recovery coupled with hearty portions of ham and eggs and onions from a local eatery. This is where the problem of wind began to impede our progress. Had the nasty Germans found another way of delaying our invasion of Austria ? We ploughed on, despite the tiresome tactics of German drivers, idiotic at best thick at worst. The troops managed to catch up with kip as mileage was gained. Another problem loomed - the elements. A bit of rain through Germany was replaced with 28 degs of searing heat as we headed South towards our goal. At last we arrived in Munich, having ridden ourselves of sluggish drivers and traffic jams. The fantastic sight of the new stadium coupled with the first road sign indicating Salzburg put the tiredness away, the final leg of our epic invasion was in sight. Two more hours and Captain Mike and his crew had arrived. Salzburg is a mighty fine City and only the best would have to do for our weary troops. Initially, it was no room at the inn for our Blue and White fans, However, after tactical comminications, rooms were located at the Golden Hirsch, a world famous hostelry with a guest list that was to be admired. Capt Mike and the boys were accepted into the Elite and can now find their names along those such as Nixon, The Queen Eilzabeth, Arnie, Liz Taylor and every other grade AAA*** named in the world. Captain Mike then realised another small problem was looming for one of our crew who had complained about the lack of sleep, stress and hunger, not to mention wind ! despite amazing communication skills Capt Mike failed to raise his spirit and Nick was consigned to bed for a short while, whilst the 3 remaining soldiers made our way towards the Irish Bars. Having located several other detachments of the Rovers Army, food and drink was obtained at a healthy price. Liberation in the form of Pizza and Kaiser lager was lashed down as we headed first to The Shamrock and then to OMalleys. The excitement was growing pre match and tiredeness was forgotten. Our final pre match mission was to raise Nick from his slumber. The threat of the dreaded fire extinguiser treatment made him realise that the Rovers needed him to complement the numbers in the stadium and he rose, dressed in his new Blue and White shirt, we embarked on the final section ofo our journey to the tiny little stadium known as the red bull stadium. On entering the arena, The Rovers Army were in full flow. Although caged in from the locals, the Rovers fans were in loud voice and were the sole contributors to the pre match excitement. A rendition of "England" was quickly followed by the loudest rendition of "The Dambusters" that I have ever heard. The hairs were standing as our Army continued through the early stages of the game. As a reminder to time gone by, a plane was heard overhead and as had happened over 60 years ealrier the blackout was engforced, if only for a short time whilst the Austrians realised it was 2006 and not 1943 ! Suddenly a quick free kick put Rovers behind. Having been in total control Roveers had appeared to committ a suicidal act. A defeat once again loomed UNTIL the golden haired hero arrived on scene to take a free kick some 30 yards out. BANG! 1-1 as the ball flew in. Robbie was in dreamland, his practice made perfect as the ball bounced in and out sending the Rovers Army into heaven. The noise was deafening in the cage. Surely, surely Rovers could go on. For once, the man in the middle seemed to sympathise with the boys in Red as the tactics employed by the German/Austrian team became roughhouse. Yet another free kick was granted to Rovers. Enter Gamst aka Pederson. Bang, the goalie spills and our South African hero Benni smacks the ball back into the onion bag, 2-1 Rovers. If Carlseberg made football dreams for Blackburn fans then this was it. The caged Rovers fans went mental. The stadium was filled with Northern English voices as the home fans were simply silenced. They may just have realised that it was okay to beat the local pub team 17-1 and that in facing the people cahmpions from England they may just have bitten off more than they could chew, even if they were playing on a plastic pitch ! The match progressed. Rovers supporters began to ail with the combination of heat, beer and food, not to mention car, jet and boat lag. Jordan was seen hanging onto the fence, Paul was seen sat down with his eyes rolling, Capt Mike was in full flow demanding more from his troops, Accy and Roverite continued their renditionof Rovers songs joined by the travelling army. The game entered its final stages. Rovers, typically, had decided enough was enough and were coping with the barrage thrown at them. Brad saved us once, twice and three times, the ref wiped off a goal for offside. Despite the barrage Rovers appeared to cope until the 93rd minute. A deep cross and a tall figure loomed above Lucas and the ball nestled in the back of the net. 2-2, final whistle game over. It felt like a dagger, or bayonet to be precise, had been plunged through my Blue and White heart. It hurt, hurt, hurt. But what was to follow was simply unacceptable. As the Rovers army rose as one to proclaim what could be considered a good result - 2 away goals and everything all square - the Rovers players simply ignored them as only Mssrs Tugay and Savage came to acknowledge the totally fantastic suuport they had been given on that pitch. Gutted and disappointment spring to mind, disgusted is another word I could use. The Blue and White army left as one, seeking entertainment in the form of beer, beer and more beer. The free buses helped us find our destination and as we reached the Shamrock the signing was in full flow. A few more beers and Capt Mike and his weary crew finally reckoned a meeting with their beds. Sleep was needed before the treck back home through the lowlands of Europe. Breakfast was provided by Macdonalds and we left Salzburg having made many friends and purchased the standard headgear just as a reminder of our trip to Austria. As we made our way back to Blighty, Capt mike was the first to suffer with wind syndrome. Could it have been the beer ? No I think the ham and egg breakfast was to blame. Mark and Nick joined in as we seekd turbo power to jetison us back to Dunkirk for the ferry home. It was not to be as the dirty Germans again impeded us by having accidents and by a combination of poor driving and stupidity. A phone call was made as we realised they had succeeded in delaying us and a late ferry was booked. All was not lost as we indulged in hot meals, babies head and chips, real sausage and chips and a meeting with Spurs supporters who had driven to Prague relieved the stress of the 2000 mile plus journey. So now, back home and rested. An epic journey, fantastic entertainment, no loss and great company (music excluded) was had by Capt Mike and his crew. The photographic memories of Jordan hanging onto the fence and trying to smile hsi way through his drunken stupor made me laugh all the way home and evidence will be posted at some point ! Enjoy guys and girls. We had a fantastic time and the name of BRFC has been well received in Austria.
  22. Home win and oh BTW City fans I know are expecting a Rovers back lash
