  1. Forest tomorrow will be far tougher than Derby. They will be far more physical and aggressive. I very much doubt we will be able to handle them. I would go with the same team other than Nyambe for Bennett. Think we will be well beaten tomorrow by at least two goals - it could get embarrassing.
  2. Didn't Jason Lowe captain England U21's!? Enough said. For that money, we could have signed the likes of Pukki with plenty of change left over. Also, think Brum paid less than Armstrong's fee for Adams. Just feel for £1.75m we could have done much, much better.
  3. Think Armstrong has one asset and that's his pace. IMO, does not have a football brain and has a very poor touch. Think we paid way, way over the top at £1.75million - as far as I could see, we were the only club in for him at that price which tells you something. IMO, not a championship player.
  4. But bombed big time with Brereton. Too many Joe Averages, Harts and Gladwins. Apart from Rothwell, I think he spunked £10million+ away last summer on Brereton, Armstrong and Davenport.
  5. Which in my opinion tells you just our cr@p our management has been over recent times. I think you are being kind calling him 'decent' - just what facet of his management do you class as 'decent'? If you are prepared to accept 'mediocrity' - and I don't think Mowbray is even that - then you will regress.
  6. The comparisons are as football managers. Mowbray was brought in just over two years to keep us up (his words). He failed. If he had kept us up, our position today is only marginally better than it would have been then. Therefore, our club has barely progressed. Tactically and player trading wise, there is hardly any difference between the three. Mowbray's comments and excuses, IMO, are now very similar to the desperate days of Kean and C o y l e. I don't give a feck about Mowbray's 'nice guy' image, his values or his wife's lemon drizzle cake. The bottom line is Mowbray is handsomely paid to improve and progress the footballing side of the club. IMO, we are now regressing, our football, in the main, is dire, our recent results have been appalling and the thousands and thousands of empty seats are an embarrassment. In my book he has to go and quick as I think we are going nowhere other than downwards.
  7. I think Mowbray is morphing into Kean and C o y l e. The man has no credibility left in my view. IMO, sheer madness to keep him as manager. No, ifs and buts, I think he's clearly demonstrated he's unfit for purpose. No room for sentiment in football.
  8. More Mowbray madness. FFS, there is no hope. He simply has to go. And @Parsonblue thinks we already have a good manager!!!
  9. You must have got pi$$ed after a rare Rovers' win and decent performance. One swallow does not make a summer. Tonight, in the main, he picked his best players (Reed, Travis & Rothwell) instead of his 'favourites' (Evans, Smallwood) and played Reed in his best position. Rothwell was a revelation. Why has it taken so, so long for Mowbray to see sense? The contrast between Rothwell and Brereton is so stark. One has so much potential and ability (and has been held back) whilst the other, IMO, is one expensive dud (who has contributed virtually zilch to the cause) and Mowbray has spunked £7million+ away on him. Dropping Nyamble to shoehorn Bennett into the team is indefensible and further evidence that Mowbray is, IMO, not up to it. IMO, Mowbray still has to go and go quickly. We even won games under Kean and C o y l e !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Much, much better. It's simple Mowbray: You play your best players (Reed, Travis, Rothwell etc) and not your 'favourites' (Evans, Smallwood) You put your players in their best position - Reed is a central midfielder and not a feckin wide man Delighted for Rothwell. When I first saw him, it was obvious he had something, there was a spark, an energy, a creativeness. Conversely, I see nothing in Brereton. The contrast is so stark. Posted about Rothwell's potential and my opinion of Brereton (think he's a very expensive dud) so many times.
  11. Let's hope Mowbray doesn't feck tonight up with silly tactical changes / substitutions.
  12. So sad to see so many empty seats in Ewood.
  13. Decent so far. No coincidence that Evans / Smallwood dropped. Rothwell looking good. First bullocks from commentator about Mowbray's football philosophy. U derwhelmed by Derby - expected more.
  14. Think tonight might be closer than folk think. Can see goals, goals and more goals. Yep, our defence is woeful but Keogh is just one big accident waiting to happen for Derby. Think Derby can be a wee bit fragile if things not going their way. Will be interesting to see how Dack and Rothwell go together. Big negatives to me are Bennett, Williams and Conway. Gone for a scoreline similar to Derby's 3-3 at Brentford. We can't keep losing, this run has to end. Rovers to win at 19/10 by 3 goals to 2 at 34/1.
  15. We might be cr@p and we might not get another point this season but we WONT go down - not this season anyhow! There is not a snowball's chance in hell of all four (Millwall, Reading, Wigan & Rotherham) of the potentially doomed getting 47 points or more.
  16. Spot on. I've had reservations about Mowbray since the day he arrived and posted as such. Brought in with the objective of keeping us up (his words at Blues a few weeks ago) - failed Think we got lucky so many times last season in a p$ss poor league despite being the best resourced club From what I've seen, I think we are physically / mentally unfit (other teams seem two yards quicker all over the park and are at it for 90+ minutes), disorganised (how many times do we change formation in the first 15 / 20 minutes of a game), tactically inept (hoofball doesn't count in my book), poor in game management (so many late goals), play cr@p football with no identity or sign of a pattern of play evolving and consistently fail to get the best out of what we've got (square pegs / round holes). Think we have a mystifying and poor player trading record with £10million+ spunked away in the summer (Brereton, Armstrong, Davenport). Too many Harts and Gladwins and what the hell was the signing of Chapman about over two months ago. I think as a playing unit, we are now back to the Kean, C o y l e eras. For me, there is no longer any enjoyment in watching Rovers. I can't think of a single reason to keep Mowbray a minute longer. Coming across as a 'nice guy' with self purported values and anecdotes about his wife's lemon drizzle cake doesn't cut it for me. We owe him nothing - he's been paid a king's ransom for his time here; arguably, he was on the football scrap heap until Senior brought him in. In my opinion, the sooner we see Mowbray, Venus, Lowe and Benson walking down the road the better. I also think Waggott and Cheston should follow them; I think Waggott's act of extending Mowbray's contract was sheer folly and said so at the time. I think our club is still in one helluva a mess but if you have a half decent football manager at the helm, at least you have some hope and a decent chance.
  17. Please do the decent thing Mowbray and just walk away and go enjoy your wife's lemon drizzle cake to your heart's content.
  18. I take it you've now recovered from the Maltese sun and agree that Mowbray is dire and needs to go now!?
  19. Very sad news. A favourite player of mine and the fans 'give us a go....al, give us a go....al, Barrie Hole, Barrie Hole' An attacking midfield player with a real eye for goal - think he averaged about 1 goal in 5 games for Rovers. Like Stonesrick, remember that 5-3 win at Deepdale with fondness and Barrie had a blinder that day. RIP Barrie.
  20. Perhaps in name only! I am struggling to see how Waggott has moved Rovers forward in any shape or form. IMO, another employee not fit for purpose.
  21. IMO, 100% Mowbray has to go. Sentiment shouldn't count. His 'nice guy' image shouldn't count. His constant prattling about his values shouldn't count. His wife's lemon drizzle cake shouldn't count. I think Mowbray is too old school and in reality a muddled tactical dinosaur. Key points for me are: Are we physically and mentally fit. IMO, no and based on what I've seen, other teams are far quicker, fitter and tougher mentally. Are we organised and difficult to beat. Results speak for themselves. We leak goals for fun. Does Mowbray get the most out of his players. IMO, no - think he has too many 'favourites', development of younger players is suppressed and his selections result in far too many square pegs being driven into round holes. Is Mowbray tactically aware: IMO, he's not at the races and how many times do we see him change the set-up within 15/20 minutes minutes. I struggle to see any game management. Do we play attractive football and is there a pattern and style of play developing. IMO, no and no - I am bloody sick of hoofball, hoofball and more hoofball. Is Mowbray astute in player trading. IMO, his record is very poor, other than Dack. I think we've spunked £10million+ on Brereton, Armstrong, Davenport and Rothwell (though Rothwell IMO is by far the most promising of the four and he rarely plays him!). Far too many Harts, Gladwins and bang 'Joe Averages'. Mowbray said at his evening a few weeks ago, he was brought in to keep us up. He failed - full stop. In the pi$$ poor League 1 he got us up BEHIND Wigan. We were the best resourced club in the league and we should have strolled it - I think we rode our luck too many times for comfort last season which didn't augur well for this season. I think we are now virtually in free fall with just 4 points from the last 10 / 11 games. Mowbray has had two windows since we were promoted to address some obvious defensive concerns and I think he's done virtually feck all about it and also allowed a 'real' centre half (Downing to leave on loan). I do not think Mowbray has anything to offer our football club in any capacity. I think it would be a huge mistake to give him the summer as I do not think his record in player trading gives any reassurance. We need a young, hungry and innovative coach. I would be staggered if Damien Johnson could not make a better fist of it than Mowbray. There are a lot of talented coaches out there who would jump at the Ewood manager's job. We owe Mowbray nothing - he's been handsomely paid for his labours.
  22. I went to the Mowbray evening and came away unaware of Mowbray's plan / strategy !!!
  23. I think you are being too generous in describing his work in the transfer market as mediocre - he committed the club to £10m+ in the summer for Brereton, Armstrong, Rothwell and Davenport and other than flashes from Rothwell (who to me looks to me to have real potential), it looks, IMO, like money down the drain. I very much doubt our man who prattles on about integrity and values will walk. I think Waggott has given Mowbray financial security for life with, IMO, an absolutely ludicrous contract extension; I think that act confirms, IMO, that good executive management and commercial nous are in very short supply at Ewood. I think we need Waggott, Mowbray, Venus, Lowe and Benson booted out of our club at the earliest opportunity. I feel certain, there are far more able football executives and football coaches out there who would relish an Ewood Park opportunity.
  24. Are you sober? I don't think the lad is a 'real footballer' and I think we've spunked £7m+ away.
  25. Some sobering statistics from when I think the wheels started to come off in the 4-1 surrender at Preston: 13 league LOSSES in 22 league games including 41 goals conceded and only 21 points won. Last 10 league games we've lost 8 games including 21 goals conceded and just 4 points won. We are regressing at an alarming rate and it simply can't go on. Those who still think Mowbray is the man seriously need to give their head a wobble.
