Chaddy doesn't gamble at all? Have you not seen him post about the football bets he has made!!! Is that not gambling? Why do I make such offers? Well @chaddyrovers makes posts with such apparent certainty and if he was convinced about such certainty then surely he wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth!!! If I'm pretty certain about something, I put my money where my mouth is. Simple as. -

Eamon was a mercurial talent "they call him Eamon Rogers, they call him the king of the land, his hair hangs over his shoulders tied up with a blue and white band". Played nearly 200 games for Rovers and his goal record was about 1 in 4 (mainly from midfield). Moved to Charlton with 'Dumper' Endean coming the other way as part of the deal. Sadly, affected by injury after leaving Rovers and I seem to recall he was forced to retire from the game 2 or 3 years after leaving Rovers. A class above anyone we have now. -

How about this. If Brittain is still with us when the season kicks off, I will pay Β£100 to a charity of your choice. If Brittain has gone when the season kicks off, you pay Β£100 to a chaity of my choice. -

They have done more than we have then!!! Our only signing with Championship experience is a bang average McLaughin and certainly none of our signings are world beaters! With Brittain about to leave (and Travis to follow) and the paucity of our recruitment, it will be Rovers fighting relegation. -

'Gilly' was a strange one. Think he had a 1 in 2 record for Huddersfield but seemed to struggle with his back but strangely, went on to play over 200 league games when he left Rovers! Read somewhere he's now one of football's dementia sufferers which is no surprise given he was an 'old fashioned' centre forward. West Ham certainly sold us a pup in Britt - think it was a training injury after a coming together with Bobby Moore. When we signed him, remember my dad saying to me during his first match 'we've signed a dud here' - to the experienced eye, it was clear he couldn't jump off his injured leg which was a bit limiting for a centre forward! -

Bobby Bell! Came from Ipswich as part of the Allan Hunter deal and was then transferred to Crystal Palace after just 2 or 3 games for Rovers. -

Jimmy Kerr was a phenomenal talent who joined Rovers for Β£60,000 from Bury at the age of 20. He'd already played over 100 games for Bury with something like a 1 in 4 goal record - some record for a midfielder. A knee injury did for him after just about a dozen games for Rovers - a crying shame for a terrific talent. -

Side effects from cosmetic surgery are not uncommon ranging from pretty minor stuff to much more severe stuff. For elective surgery, I certainly wouldn't be going to Turkey! Also, heard some horrendous stuff about folk who have had dental work done in Turkey. -

Yes Brittain certainly played for us yesterday but I haven't seen any confirmation he flew back with the main party today that would negate the rumours flying around that he came back on an earlier flight. I think it's certain Brittain will leave and if he has a choice, I think it will be Derby over Middlesbrough. -

I don't think Rovers have spent any money this window. Sale of Schaper and JRC would bring in about Β£1.75m. Fees for Alebiosu, De Neve, McLaughlin and Tavares would be no more than Β£1.75m up front plus fairytale 'add ons' for when we win the PL etc With Brittain heading to join Eustace's Rovers renunion party at Derby for Β£2.5/3m, we are quids in. If you believe the fantasy figures quoted for our signings then I'd look out in your garden tonight for the fairies! -

We lost Szmodics - one player! From last season's squad we have lost half a dozen players who had proven Championship ability: Batth, Beck, Sanderson, JRC, Dolan and Weimann (4 of them big players for us last season). So far, we have not signed one replacement, let alone additional team improver, of Championship ability. Your comments in bold just underline to me that you are just trolling - have you really nothing better to do!? -

Think most of us were surprised how last season went based on the previous season. I think at the moment we are considerably weaker than we were last season when comparing the number of players of proven ability at this level we have lost with the cheap and unproven foreign players we have brought in . Without at least 3 quality additions who automatically command starting places and improve our starting 11, I think we will struggle. That is my opinion as you are entitled to yours. -

Think we need a minimum of 4 plus a replacement for any departures (will be surprised if Brittain and Travis are here when the window closes). CB: Carter seems to be made of glass whilst we have to see how Wharton goes with his knee (Wharton has also missed long spells with other injuries as well) CM: Tavares is unproven, a washed-up Forshaw (already injured) should never have been re-signed and Montgomery has proved nothing yet other than he is an athlete (as was Jason Lowe!!!) RW: A desperate, desperate need. Hedges offers almost nothing offensively (was it 1 goal and 2 assists last season?) CF: Leonard needs loaning out (L1 or even L2) until at least the Jan. window in order to see if he can hack game after game and score goals - after looking so promising, he's missed so much football over the last season or 2 and after his back problems you do worry if he will ever be fit enough for the rigors of professional football. Just don't see how Ismael would be happy with just 2 or 3 more. 3 more of REAL QUALITY and we MIGHT get by but 2 or 3 more of the likes of Alebiosu, Tavares & De Neve (Alebiosu and De Neve look average at best and don't improve our starting 11 whilst Tavares is unproven with an unconvincing last season at his previous club) and we could be in real trouble. -

Sterner tests to come. We certainly look fitter and more energetic but we can't pretend to play like that for a full season with the squad we have - need more depth and quality otherwise we might have shot our bolt before September is out. Noticeably, more long ball and direct. Can see Kargbo and Gueye roughing-up a few defences this season. Impressed with everything Toth has done - indisputably our number 1 now. Tyjon a bonus. Of the new boys - McLoughlin bang average, Alebiosu and De Neve are 'athletes' but not footballers who will hold down a place in our starting 11 and wont improve the team. -

Great opportunity for Dolan to measure just how good he is (in reality rather than in his head!). Personally, I think he'll come up short with his lack of pace and football intelligence. Don't blame him one iota for what's happened and the position he found himself in with Rovers. If he looks after both himself and his money, he's probably gone a long way to setting himself up for life. Buena suerte y adios ! -

Looks like there is conflicting information out there! https://www.easportslaw.com/news/training-compensation-and-solidarity-mechanism Training Compensation RSTP art. 20 and annexe 4 regulates training compensation. In short, training compensation is paid by the new club to the clubs that trained the player between the ages 12 and 21. The obligation to pay training compensation occurs if one of the following two conditions are met: 1) When a player signs his first contract as a professional, and 2) Each time a professional is transferred internationally until the end of the season of his 23rd birthday The basic principle is that the new club must pay training compensation whenever a player signs his first professional contract and each time the player transfers between clubs of two different national associations. Compensation is payable until the end of the season of the playerβs 23rd birthday. There is an obligation to pay training compensation regardless of whether the playerβs contract has already expired or not.
