Difficult to believe any Rovers' story that involves real/material investment to either secure existing key players or to sign new players of a proven quality. Would be very pleasantly surprised if it happens but to me feels like the pitch is being rolled ahead of an almost inevitable departure.

I think it's clear why both JDT and Eustace wanted out and so soon after both joined Rovers. IMO, the club is one deteriorating mess and the rot first set-in back in 2010 when our ownership changed. Players are not fools and will have read the script and I think Brittain, Hyam, Travis and Tronstad are just biding their time waiting for the right opportunity to jump ship and who can blame them? To have your 4 key players approaching a new season with just 12 months to go on their contracts is, IMO, catastrophic and gross mismanagement. I have little doubt the football world is aware of our predicament and we are now so helpless and impotent as the vultures circle waiting to swoop and exploit our vulnerability. It's been a long time coming, defying all conventional business/commercial sense even for the football industry, but, IMO, we are now seeing the beginning of the end.

Even at a local level, Bayes and, to a lesser degree, Jackson will have a knowledge of the many behind-the-scene activities and matters at Rovers but you will not see these in the LT or aired on BBC Lancashire, again for various reasons.

Morris reported in places as £1.7million. Obviously, Batth and Weimann free and low hanging fruit. I'll wager a pound to a penny that they pay no less than £5million in fees this win̈dow which almost certainly outstrips Rovers.
