  1. You are absolutely right. Our owners set the agenda and parameters. I think what Pasha knows and understands about football could be written on a pin head. As far Gestede, IMO, he is seriously fathoms out of his depth. When you have two individuals like Pasha and Gestede, who almost certainly doff their caps to the Raos, running football operations, I think it's inevitable there will be an accelerated and unremitting degradation of our once proud and respected club. For all the Rovers fans (especially those who have been around pre the Walker days) with a degree of wherewithal who don't swallow the copious amounts of bullsh1t, IMO, that emanates from Ewood/Brockhall, it must be extremely sad and painful.
  2. and that incredible headed miss against Chelsea in the FA Cup Semi at Old Trafford with only minutes to go (would have put us in the final) will long linger in the memory bank for all the wrong reasons. Met MGP in the hospitality at Ewood last season and he remembers it well!
  3. Well if Derby finish top 6 and even get promoted, I would suggest Batth and Beck will have been seen as very shrewd signings. I doubt you are old enough to know but in the late 1960's, Brian Clough signed a 34 year old Dave Mackay from Spurs and that season they got promoted to the 1st Division (now PL) and within 3/4 years won the 1st Division title and Mackay was a huge factor in those achievements. I think Carlton Morris (signed from Luton) will prove more prolific than any Rovers' front man whilst Pochettino has waxed lyrical about Agyemang who has burst on to the international scene with 5 goals in 12 games. I think Derby will finish in top 6, far higher than Rovers, with their two new strikers being far more potent than ours. Bear in mind that when Eustace left both Brum and Rovers they were in the top 6!!!!
  4. Absolutely. Derby showing purpose and intent with their transfer business and right behind their Head Coach. If only......!!!!!!
  5. I struggle to see what he offers. Has provided just one memorable moment for me and that was his goal against Watford. Conversely, recall him missing an absolute sitter (at Preston???) that cost us points and a play-off place (missed out on goal difference). Read somewhere that in three and a half seasons for Rovers, he has netted just 7 league goals and roughly the same number of assists. That is both shocking and embarrassing for an experienced senior offensive player. Makes Dolan seem prolific (achieved similar numbers last season alone). If Hedges is the answer then I fail to understand the feckin question!
  6. Sadly, as a club I think we have regressed so badly there isn't much credibility about. Any real talent isn't going to hang about long irrespective of what Ismael says - they can virtually set themselves up for life with just one 'big' move. To have a chance of retaining top young talent for any length of time, we need to be playing in the PL and as a bare minimum holding our own. Sadly, those days may well have now gone for good such is the state of our club.
  7. Really? Our incidence of injuries and recovery times suggests otherwise.
  8. If it was posted about on Twitter the other day then surprised you two, or anyone else on this MB, didn't comment about it on here given the stuff about poor pre season planning!?
  9. Told Rovers have now fixed up a friendly behind closed doors in the Netherlands to fill the void.
  10. Simply not good enough. Couldn't even hack it at a lower level when out on loan. At 22, time to say goodbye.
  11. Scandalous. I hope so and for the full working week and not just the odd day ore so.
  12. It's absolutely farcical. There can be no excuses. He should be at Ewood / Brockhall full time. to be an integral part of the club's community.
  13. No, just realistic. Don't know who the feck HowardRV is but it aint me.
  14. Midfield is a problem and an even bigger problem should Travis and/or Tronstad leave. Forshaw - no better than a 10/15 minute sub. Bet he can't believe his luck when a then desperate Rovers signed him again. Tavares - unproven and his track record at his last club far from convincing. Buckley - a stroller, not Championship level and Ismael's type of player. Montgomery - do not understand the hype about this lad who last season was playing for Marine and Chorley. Seen nothing to suggest he can be an answer in midfield. He can run, so what?
  15. Seems like our medics don't know the difference between cramp, a calf and a hamstring. I'd sack the feckin lot of them.
  16. We will also have a very disaffected footballer on our books who will deeply harbour the notion we have denied him an opportunity. That is no good for the club. His race is run here and he needs to be out the door.
  17. My goodness, think you really do live in a fantasy world!
  18. A deal has to be done for Brittain with either Middlesbrough or Derby. Think his heart is no longer with Rovers now and doubtful it will be again. No doubt sales' proceeds will just finance the 3/4 deals so far with any residual trousered.
  19. Firstly, how many posters on this MB have referred to Carter's 'cramp' injury so what is unique about my post? Secondly, for the umpteenth time, I am not part of the Twatterati so stop linking me to any other poster(s) on there. It is unnecessarily annoying, boring and repetitive.
  20. Delusional and laughable. 21 year old Montgomery last season spent time at Marine and Chorley seemingly going nowhere other than the exit door. Played very limited time in our 1st team and suddenly you think he can step into the shoes of Travis or Tronstadt!?!? If the capability for our centre midfield is the energy to run box to box then maybe our scouting focus should shift to Blackburn Harriers!
  21. and we desperately needed another body in quickly with Carter's cramp!
  22. De Neve signed as a winger (where he played mostly for his last club) who can also play wing back. Anyhow, the key point is, if he hasn't been signed as Weimann's direct replacement, we have neither replaced Batth nor Weimann yet and bear in mind Batth was an outstanding performer for us last season and Weimann had excellent impact and delivered when we needed it with both goals and assists. Age is irrelevant - it's the quality and ability to perform - Cowans, Moran, Gale etc and presently for other clubs Messi (38), Ronaldo (40), Modric (39) etc
