  1. Won't necessarily disagree but don't you first have to have a solid foundation. Appointed Rovers' manager in Feb. and kept us up. Put a foundation in place for his first full season and I'm certain if club had backed him in last window then we would have seen a more 'ambitious' approach . Exactly same happened/happening at Derby. Come Jan. 2026, if he has Derby at that point where he had Rovers, pretty certain he'll get the backing he deserves. A pragmatic manager who has got results when really up against it. To me, the future is bright for Derby
  2. A staggering opinion - had to double check that it wasn't a Chaddy posting. Would be equally staggered if more than 10% share your opinion. Spot on.
  3. For clarity @RevidgeBlue, had commented upon the fantasy pursuit of Kapuadi and then @Nealposted about Poku to QPR. Followed up with post to state that 3 very decent and proven players had gone to Championship clubs for very modest investments.
  4. So why the feck are Rovers indulging in this fantasy shite?! What's more, LT publish it. Little wonder Chaddy and his mates may well have wet dreams!
  5. Put a cheeky offer in this morning for the missus' dream house. Offered half the selling price up front with a 50% sell-on for profit over my offer price. Not holding my breath!
  6. Add Randell to Bristol City for cΒ£700k and Phillips to WBA for Β£1million and that's 3 very decent and proven players for Β£2.7million. The players are out there but we simply aren't even prepared to modestly invest. IMO, a totally useless feckin shambles with neither hope nor ambition.
  7. Nailed it. All for the likes of Chaddy. So by that token with Brittain, Travis, Tronstad and Hyam all with just 12 months left on their contract you would expect Rovers to accept derisory offers? The lad is going to have a number of clubs chasing him - Wolves, Union Berlin and Strasbourg are just 3 I've seen mentioned. He might fit the bill but I think it's almost zero chance of happening. Sadly Chaddy, like many other Rovers' fans, you swallow hook, line and sinker the, IMO, bullsh1t flowing from Ewood. "Another money signing possible and they seem to be backing Ismael with some money" - it's crap and tiddly winks!!! Our market is not Sagnan, Nade or Kapuadi but cheap, cheerful and unproven signings like De Neve and Tavares with low up front fees and inflated add-ons that most likely will never happen. Wake up and smell the coffee as I think the likes of you are being conned big time.
  8. A tough start and a tough finish to what increasingly looks like being one feckin hellish season. Not seen any relegation odds for Championship yet but think Rovers and Sheff Wed will make a tasty and profitable double!
  9. Very bad news if correct. To miss 4 of the 6 weeks pre season means the lad wont be ready for the start of the season and he could be trying to play catch-up for months to come. These things happen but we seem to suffer more than most with injuries - think our once much vaunted sports science / medical department has been dumbed down, like all areas in the club, beyond recognition. There's always a price to pay.
  10. Quiet and depressing. Seen reported half a dozen or so Academy lads training with 1st team - Ismael must be gutted. Scores on the doors from last season: 'Gone': Dolan, Batth, Weimann, Beck, ACD (5) 'Going': Travis (90% probability), Brittain (90% probability) and Tronstad & Hyam (50/50) In: De Neve, Tavares (2) So that's 5 seniors (4 of which good/steady Championship performers) out the door with another 4 in the 'revolving door'. Neither of our 2 signings have pulled up trees at their previous clubs and highly unlikely to hit the ground running - 2 big risks. To coin an advertising slogan - 'the future's bleak, the future's black' !
  11. You don't half talk some crap Chaddy. Other than Rovers, who the feck wanted Forshaw!?!? A pure desperate signing. Clearly, Batth and Weimann have known about the Derby deal for some time and so will have other clubs who may or may not have spoken with them. Nicko does not know everything that goes on in the football world and you know even less.
  12. Surprised by this appointment - Gibson going to be treading water again. Really surprised by this one - no real track record and bombed in his last two jobs.
  13. As has Aynsley Pears !!! Football is about opinions (managers, coaches, fans) and opinions differ at even the highest level as we've seen with Tuchel's selections including the sidelining of Wharton and selection of a washed-up Henderson. Absolutely agree about the player trading - think it's metaphorically criminal when you think about the talent to leave Ewood for nowt in recent times (Lenihan, Rothwell, Brereton); though the 3 mentioned haven't set the football world alight, you would think that Β£20millionish has been flushed down the sh1tter. Dolan, Brittain, Hyam, Travis, Tronstad etc - where is it all going to end!? I know it's another era and maybe before your time but Bob Lord at Burnley was a master at flogging players at the right time for big bucks and generally keeping Burnley competitive in the First Division (now PL) for a good 15 years or so including a title win and half a dozen or so top 4 finishes.
  14. If Dolan had put the same amount of effort he showed in the last few weeks of the season into his earlier Rovers' career, I suspect he might have already moved on. Clearly, put himself in the 'shop window'. A very frustrating player who, IMO, lacks the two essentials for a forward with PL aspirations - pace (Rhodes had none and bombed in PL) and football intelligence (Adam Armstrong has little and also bombed in PL). As for 'circle spins', Stuart Metcalfe liked a few though in fairness Metcalfe was a talented footballer who for various reasons didn't make the most of his abilities.
  15. We are losing 3 steady Championship performers and so far we've recruited, IMO, a washed-up Forshaw who we didn't want at the end of the season (that is desperate), Tavares who managed 15 starts out of 34 for Moreirense but only completed 3 of those games and De Neve whose move to a Championship club astonished a local Belgian journalist given his seemingly very modest playing ability. I'd down a few Guinness if I was you and they might help you to see the ludicrousy of both your argument and Rovers' plight!
  16. So, tomorrow no Dolan, no Batth and no Weimann. However, Forshaw, De Neve and Sid will be there! Ismael will be so excited.
  17. If the advert we've seen is correct, no self respecting individual would take this job. A C-suite level job my arse.
  18. Still trying to defend the indefensible shambles I thin̈k Rovers have become. I don't give a monkeys whether our players are from UK, Europe, Africa or Asia or are young or old. The only thing that matters is can they feckin play and get us back to the PL?!?! All the bullsh1t about journeys, projects, style of play is feckin nonsense. Only results and promotion matter.
  19. 3 shrewd signings by Eustace - a pragmatic manager who wants results now and isn't sidetracked with all the 'project' or 'journey' bullshit. Think Weimann and Batth will be 1 year deals and will be big Rovers' misses. Defensively, we weren't the same when Batth didn't play and Hyam was markedly less effective in Batth's absence. Weimann was a great option from the bench when we needed something to happen. Don't let anyone pretend they are in the 30's and don't fit Ismael's playing style and won't be missed - that's feckin nonsense. Our 3 signings so far provide little comfort.
  20. Hope we get a 'gentle start' to give us a chance to get some points on board. A tough start with few if any points may well be difficult to recover from. With our player trading so far and no contract renewals on our key players, difficult to have any confidence.
  21. The lad's 20 now and not improving. Don't think the spell at Stanley did anything for him. At one stage, thought he was a good prospect. Time to move him on.
  22. Style and opinions! Well Byron, Keats, Shelley and Wordsworth were all poets who were thought to have a similar writing style! As for opinions, 90%+ of a political party share the same opinions, don't they? I am not unique and don't pretend to be and I am pretty sure there are many out there with both similar opinions and similar ways of expressing themselves. I'll leave it there.
  23. As I have said before, I AM NOT ONE OF THE TWATTERATI. Do you have difficulty reading and understanding? I don't give a feck what this bloke on Twitter posts. By all means have a go at me (though you do seem to have an unhealthy obsession with me) but don't attribute comments from someone else on another social media platform to me.
  24. Would think we've probably given Moreirense their money back and promised more if he comes good and we win the PL and Champions' League!!! Perhaps this guy is their Leopold Wahlstedt!!! Chaddy you just don't get it do you? They have more than likely been spun a huge dose of bullsh1t and 'favours' have been called in! Why not trust sporting journalists - are you kidding everyone on here!?!?!? From what I have read about this lad and seen in the odd clip he is NOT THE BOX TO BOX Ismael wants and will be a piss poor replacement for either Travis or Tronstadt if and when they leave. De Neve and Sid, IMO, are not ready or good enough for the Championship. Carry on with signing players like this whilst losing the likes of Brittain, Batth, Travis and Tronstad and we will be done for by Christmas.
  25. Forshaw???? Feck me. No, no, no .......... Pasha, Gestede, Raos - get the feck out of our club.
