A better club? The bar is set incredibly low on that score. Seriously, are there any Championship clubs with worse owners / operational management? If we'd offered him a "decent enough wage packet" we wouldn't be in the current situation. Agree, he won't get a PL move but are there really any less progressive or ambitious Championship clubs than Rovers? I think not. Again Chaddy, I think you are trying to defend the indefensible. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Imo, Dolan is a legend In his own mind only with a vastly overrated opinion of his own abilities. He will not see the PL. He has nothing that distinguishes him - IMO, a lack of both pace and football intelligence are seriously limiting factors. This situation has been coming for close on 2 years. Do I blame the lad or his advisers, no. He's run his contract down and can now look forward to a big signing on fee and a big new wage - if ĥe looks after his money, he will virtually be financially secure for life.

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Just what the feck is the point of our academy if all we are going to do is sell any gems we unearth before the fans have even had opportunity to see them grace the blue and white shirt?! Not interested in, IMO, shite like Buckley and JRC but I do want to see the likes of Dunn, Jones, Wharton etc Sounds like a Rovers' appointment! Just why the feck do we want a CEO who thought Rooney was a good appointment just months after his Brum disaster. I think we really are owned and run by muppets. -
2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Spent some time around the Peak District this week and got talking to an Exec Box holder at Derby. He reckoned both Travis and Baath were 'nailed on' signings for Eustace. Seems like most of the Derby fans were resigned to relegation and they still can't believe how Eustace managed to haul them out of the huge hole they found themselves in. I dread to think what our squad will look like come our first match of the new season. I've no doubt Derby will be pushing for top six whilst we struggle to keep out of the bottom three. -

Agree with that other than I fancy Coventry to go up - Lampard enjoying a fair old share of luck. -

So near, yet so far away from the play offs. Think the three stooges royally fecked us with their crass management - driving out yet another good manager and failing to strengthen in the window. What came out of today: We didn't really carry a threat We aren't good enough, SU would have mauled us in the semi IMO, we spunked money up the wall on Dennis and Woodrow - feckin awful signings We can do way, way better than Forshaw Karbo looks very, very raw and I would question if he has an ounce of football intelligence THE BIG PLUS, at last, we have a goalie! Toth impressed me with every aspect of his game - Pears should never wear the shirt again. I really dread to think what shape we will be in come the new season. A day that started promising so much, a robin on the garden wall, a 'Moscow Mule' to savour in blissful sunshine, dream land at about 1:45 but as flat as a witch's t1t come 2:30. On to the BBQ now with some great meats to cook and some fine reds to uncork - the pain will be dulled soon. -

Woke up feeling confident about the game. Was having a quiet drink in the garden when a robin came and landed on the garden wall and stayed there for a good minute or so. That sealed it for me so lumped on Rovers at 9/4 - don't let me down boys! -
As you will know it's all relative dependent upon the size and nature of the beast. Take Tesco and the front-loading of their income some 10 years ago - not the greatest advert for PwC after that one! With a £20m+ turnover and wages/operating expenses approaching £40m (not sure where and when the cost cutting kicks-in!!!) I would think there is ample scope for some 'creative accounting' at Rovers. Doesn't matter whether the organisation is huge, big or small, I think there are always tunes to be played with the numbers and experience tells me external auditors can be led something of a merry dance! I would very happily do due diligence on Rovers foc.
-
As an accountant, I can tell you I have played many a tune with the accounts when working in industry/commerce and it is not too difficult to tie external auditors up in knots! As I have said before, I would love to be let loose on a spot of due diligence on Rovers!

Never really been a Dolan fan, however, in recent games he's been in the form of his life. If what has been posted above is correct (on £4k pw and now offered £8k) it's both a feckin disgrace and nonsensical. Let's put that into context - it's roughly an extra £200k per annum and we are presently shelling out circa £400k over 5 months for Dennis! Just how much do Rovers think a half decent replacement will cost!?!? It's the economics and management of a mad house. Ewood sadly remains an ambitionless and nous free zone.

Feeling very optimistic. Rovers to win and clinch a play off place. Who gave us a chance at Leeds or Leicester last season - this match reminiscent of the Leicester game with SU nowt to play for. A 90% and a few players rested SU 1, a fired up Rovers 3. -
The most likely scenario especially as SU will fancy their chances more against Rovers in play offs than against another opponent.
-
Well done John Eustace - mission almost accomplished at Derby. Delighted for him after his disillusionment here.
-
Leeds will bury them - they want the title.
-
Preston in deep, deep trouble. Fancy both Luton (@WBA) and Hull (@Pompey) to avoid defeat - dead rubbers for opponents Bristol City will need a win to guarantee play offs and will see PNE off who are in freefall.

Told injured in training yesterday and taken to hospital for checks. Rovers 3-1 today and to win next weekend so we all end up feckin miserable - so near yet so far. -
In my eyes, excruciating to watch and a car crash of an interview. IMO, Gestede is way, way out of his depth - seriously lacking in Integrity, nous and credibility. How can an individual who as a Rovers' player wanted a way out of the club after we resurrected a stuttering playing career 'preach' to the fans about trust and loyalty. Personally, I see Gestede as arrogant, hypocritical and untrustworthy. God help us if this man succeeds Waggott as CEO - think Rovers as a club will well and truly have jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.

Excellent to hear! Good luck with it all. Hope 'the coalition' gets the support it both needs and deserves. -

Sadly, I think the last 4 results will have taken the heat off our 3 stooges, at least for the foreseeable unless Glen and co have something up their sleeves. If Ismael does have a three month break clause in his contract, think it's almost certain it will not now be actioned. So what next? Record low season ticket sales in the last 30+ years, messrs Brittain, Travis and Tronstad refusing to be 'tied down' and being sold off, Gestede succeeding Waggott as CEO as he retires to Kent with his riches and Chaddy eulogising all is well with Rovers and continually dreaming of his 'pacey wingers'!? Think the summer will be very eventful but sadly it wont be exciting! -
Let's not forget we had parachute payments but feckin blew it big time.

Surely time for Mowbray to retire, spend quality time with his family and enjoy both his seemingly successful recovery from a major illness and the wealth he has accumulated. Personally, I never took to the guy. IMO, should have kept us up the season we were relegated where too many winning positions ended as draws and too many matches where we were all square ended in defeat - think his game management was poor. Think he held us back with 'a happy to to be a Championship side stance', coasting along - no real drive and ambition. I think a 'safe pair of hands' at Championship level was/is the limit of his managerial/coaching abilities. I didn't trust the guy and behind that 'nice, humble guy' image he liked to portray, lurked, IMO, a more cynical, unpleasant and maybe even nasty person who 'threw his toys out of the pram' / 'took his bat home' too many times during the course of games and hung a number of players out to dry during his time here.

Rovers to win today - couldn't resist a cheeky tenner at 15/4. Sunderland 'coasting' in 3rd place and will be looking to avoid injuries. Just the sort of game Rovers win and we all start saying 'if only'! -
Very good win today, totally unexpected in my eyes. Been away all day and only seen highlights but spoke to a couple who went and both said we were very impressive with all contributing. So, so feckin frustrating when you think of recent losses in games we should be winning - we should have been right there in the play off mix, yet another great opportunity spurned this season. Seen it too often - far too little and far too late. Ismael is going to have to do a lot, lot more to give me even a degree of confidence.
