I wish I could sit here with 100% certainty that Rovers wont suffer any points deduction this season - sadly, with our ownership and executive management, I can't. Heckingbottom might not be everyone's cup of tea but as a Championship manager he knows both the game and how to organize a side. Think Coventry and Ipswich are straight up. Coventry now have the all important confidence and momentum. Ipswich have a very good manager in McKenna and after the inevitable team changes following their PL relegation they are now getting results (think it's11 points from last 5 games) - win their game in hand against Rovers and they would be third. I do not blame McKenna one iota for what happened with our abandoned game - would have expected Ismael to do the same (it's our owners and executive management to blame for not resolving the longstanding feckin drainage issues). Middlesbrough and Leicester to take two of the play-off places with the other two places wide open (why not PNE?). For the drop - Owls, Rovers and very likely Oxford.

Lampard has done a super job with them. Quick and incisive football and look like they are scoring goals for fun. The international break might stall their momentum a tad but this could be anything from 2 to 7 nil. A hammering here might just finish us given fixtures to come before the end of November.

Nail on head. 'Undisclosed fees' should be abolished. Rovers' signings, IMO, over-hyped with substantial adds-ons unlikely to be needed - for the consumption of our gullible fan base who simply lap it up. -

A good deserved point which I didn't see coming at half time. Toth made important saves to keep us in the game and other than Ribeiro (whose form is deteriorating quickly) I thought defensively we were okay. Just don't rate Gardner-Hickman. Thank goodness we have Cantwell - an enormous shift again to go with his ability. For once, De Neve looked lively and useful when he came on and needs to kick on whilst, hopefully, Kargbo's goal will do wonders for his confidence. Morishita annonymous for the second game this week and a big concern given we chased him all summer whilst Gudjohnsen, again, worryingly offered nothing (2 very good chances spurned in 2 games with very poor touch / control) - think another dud to add to a long list of Rovers' centre forwards who have bombed. Next 8 league games take us to the end of November and looking at those fixtures, I would be surprised if we come away with more than 5 points. Very worrying times. -

Underwhelming midweek and again. I'll say it now, a dud. As for Gardner-Hickman, so, so poor. Ominous start for us. -

Stoke make 5 changes from midweek. Got the 'Watford feeling' again so gone for Rovers at 9/5 - again heart ruling the head! -

Your use of 'very, very' is woefully inadequate. Add a further 98 times and you will be closer to the mark! Love it!!! So Carter seems to be out for weeks again - the lad is rapidly approaching Grella and Gallagher territory. The sale of Hyam with no replacement seems more calamitous by the day. As for Baradji, words almost fail me - IMO, a total feckin nonsense of a loan signing. If only I could find a bookie to make a bet that the match wont even start let alone finish!!!!! Would love to know what, if any, addition preparations and precautions Rovers have made to ensure the match both starts and finishes. I think the answer will most likely be the square root of sweet feck all. -

I would be surprised if they do! I don't think building a stronger squad is on their agenda - IMO, it's all about slashing costs and getting rid of the 'dissenters' in the club whether it be players, football staff or other staff. -

There you have it Chaddy - my post above on Saturday 13 September after the Watford game !!!! Don't worry lad, amnesia affects us all to various degrees!!!! I judge players on what I see with my own eyes and I stand by my opinions made about our new signings a couple of hours ago. Let's revisit them come November and I would suggest reality might have hit home with you by then -

Pretty sure you would you forecast Rovers to win even if we were playing Arsenal or Real Madrid etc!?!? You are a manic optimist! 'Your team' includes 4 new signings and therein lies a big part of the problem; my opinions: Alebiosu - Brittain's replacement: the one success story. Miller - Hyam's replacement: the lad is bang average and Hyam is a huge miss TGH - Travis replacement: surplus to requirements at Brum who have just been promoted from League 1 (tells you all you need to know). Makes Keith Andrews look like Adam Wharton! Travis a huge miss Morishita - Dolan's replacement: God knows why we chased this lad all summer, already regressing and looking like a spent force. As for the other summer signings: McLoughin - not in your team so therefore assume you don't rate him and rightly so! Forshaw: still unfit, even when fit, just what is the point Baradji: signed when crocked, will he be fit before the New Year? Tavares: when a player only starts about half the games for a club like Moreirense and manages to finish only 3 of them then surely the red flags are not waving but have been torn to shreds! Henriksson: just what is this guy about? De Neve: plays like he looks, risen from the dead Gudjohnsen: feels like we've signed another donkey - should have put Rovers ahead last night but didn't control the ball and we know what happened next You keep banging on about how Ismael, Gestede and Owen are 'all aligned' - feckin good job they are otherwise where would we be!?!? Think it's difficult to recall such a dog's breakfast of a Rovers' transfer window. I think Stoke will comfortably run out winners by at least 2 goals; Robins v Ismael akin to Pep v Coyle IMO -

The pot needs to boil over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have just 3 players - Toth, Alebiosu and Cantwell and who would bet against Rovers selling these come January!? The rest are either average at best or, in the main, just very poor - IMO, overall p1ss poor recruitment. Saturday against Stoke could be one big embarrassment. There can be no excuses. Cantwell penalty - maybe maybe not. You make your own luck in football. -

Think our performance, the game, the low crowd and lack of atmosphere are the personification of a club dying on its feet. -

A borefest at 'Deadwood'. Alebiosu the only bright spark. Can't see Swansea being so poor in 2nd half. We really should be looking to kill the game but simply not looking to press home. Gudjohnsen looks another donkey - ineffective with no presence. -

A difficult one to call. Six new signings in the 11 (including 3 of the back 4) with a further 3 on the bench. That is a big turnover. Heart says Rovers will have 2 or 3 'moments' and will be enough to win the game Head says we lose an early goal and unravel. Whatever happens, hope Gestede and Pasha get some very strong verbals -
A huge own goal! Think it shows how little nous and foresight Gestede and Pasha have.
-
I think the behaviour of Rovers through Pasha and Gestede is totally indefensible. How any supporter can even remotely try to defend Rovers, Pasha and Gestede is, IMO, staggeringly beyond the pale. IMO, as a club, we are now morally bankrupt. I think Uncle Jack's legacy is in tatters.

Awful, awful, awful. No one can be surprised given our transfer window dealings - in my view, simply disastrous. IMO, the 'mood music' around the club stinks. Spoke with a number of longstanding Roverites following yesterday's game and I would say levels of apathy and disdain are at an all time high. IMO, our club is dying and unless the likes of @glen9mullanand co can quickly pull a rabbit or two out of the hat then we are finished. -
It's utterly appalling. IMO, our club is run by complete imbeciles. We as fans have a choice. Be bold and brave and ban Rovers and Ewood Park from your lives until we have new owners and executive management.

v Ipswich Town (h) - 20/9/25
Mercer replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Let's get this straight - there were at least 15 to 20 minutes to go ie 10 minutes normal time plus 5 to 10 minutes added time. That in my eyes is not an 'abandonment so late'. Football is a funny old game. How many times have we seen teams come back (even with 10 men) to either draw a game or win a game in the closing stages after being largely dominated for huge parts of the game. Ipswich were just 1 goal down - they were not dead and buried. However unpalatable to Rovers and fans, IMO, the correct and the only logical decision has been made. An appeal is 99% certain to fail and I think Rovers would better spend their time exploring options for the playing surface and its drains to ensure this never happens again.
