  1. Does anyone know when the next Zoom chat or whatever will occur for the Fans Forum? I'd love to know when the current commercial deal ends and if there are plans to change it. Are they aware how generic their offering is and how much more money they could take in if anything looked different to the stuff they sell in Matalan (unfair on Matalan; they do decent shirts)? The last time I had to spend my club cash it took me half an hour to find anything on their site even slightly appealing (in the end, I went for several bags of jelly babies, some cola bottles and a scarf which I got rid of without ever wearing). Every single t shirt was beige or navy dreariness with a crest attached. Why are blue and white halves such a rarity on our merchandise?! The pictures below illustrate the point. I'm partial so obviously picked out stuff to back my view but it is hard to find something genuinely attractive. I know that I could e-mail them myself but I also know that I would get a generic response: "We at Blackburn Rovers remain committed to providing our supporters with an attractive range of items" You can hear the person yawning as they type it...
  2. Just as a bit of fun, with next Thursdays Fixture release and the Carabao Cup First round Draw (also on the Thursday), I thought we could play a little game of... Guess the draw for Round 1 of the Carabao Cup. 1 answer only, the winner gets to try on @Herbie6590 glasses at the first home game of the 25/26 season! Good luck 😄
  3. Figured I'd start a topic for this seeing as it starts tonight. Anyone else planning on watching this? I reckon it's gonna be a really good tournament, I think teams are going to take it seriously. I feel no affinity towards City or Chelsea so I've decided to follow Bayern for the tournament seeing as our England captain is leading the line. Looking forward to seeing Messi tonight on the world stage again.
  4. Hello all, I’ve started this thread to discuss protest ideas so those in support can start taking positive action against the current state of the club and owners Venky’s & CEO Steve Waggott. Their short sighted and non-sensical business decisions are slowly killing BRFC from the inside out and it cannot be allowed to go on. As fans we’re the only ones with the best interests of Blackburn Rovers Football Club at heart 💙🤍🌹 Aims of the Protest Movement 1. The ultimate aim is for Venky’s to sell the club to new owners who are present, communicate with the fans and have the best interests of the club & fans at heart AND the community it is part of. 2. The initial aim is to voice the growing frustration of the fan base & for the current CEO Steve Waggott to start communicating with us and to be open & transparent about the ongoing financial issues and resultant inability to recruit the quality & number of players we need to progress as a club. 3. If there is no response from the club to the initial aims, the protest will enter its next stage, ideas below: Ideas Further ideas would be welcomed on how to take this forward. There were the first rumblings in the Blackburn End v Huddersfield with the “Venky’s Out” chant but we need more co-ordinated action for the owners & CEO to really sit up and listen. They’ve had a far too easy ride up until now. Some ideas I’ve had already: 1. Protest with banners/sign reveal and singing on 18 & 75 minutes during a league game. This could be as simple as downloading the below image onto your phone or iPad & holding it up as well as home made banners, signs and the like for those who want to. 2. A Reading style pitch invasion and sit down protest during a game. This would be a last resort currently. 3. Printing of t-shirts and a full on march style protest ending up at the Jack Walker statue before a League home game Any further and even more innovative ideas would be welcomed…. Venky’s & Waggott…were comin’ for you!
  5. Very scrappy game tonight. Rice and Phillips in the same midfield = dull football. Mount not in the game, Sterling trying hard but no end product. No shots on target so far.
  6. Does anybody know when this is made available? I just checked and cannot see that they are available, but I had bought one by this point last summer
  7. In this thread, please feel free to post any TV, YouTube clips of Rovers in days gone by...if anyone has any old VHS tapes but doesn't know how to convert them to digital...DM me, I might be able to assist...
  8. Premier League fixtures are out and some interesting opening games. 6 games live on TV. Sky Sports are showing Dingles vs Man City Friday 11th August, Newcastle vs Villa 5.30pm Saturday 12th August, Brentford vs Spurs 2pm Sunday 13th, Chelsea vs Liverpool 4pm Sunday 13th and Man Utd vs Wolves 8pm Monday 14th. TNT Sports are showing Arsenal vs Forest on Saturday 12th August 12.30pm
  9. in league 1, Good wins for Sunderland against Wigan and Wycombe against Stanley. Morecambe got a good point at Ipswich. Look like it will be good competitive league. I think Sunderland, Wigan, Wycombe and Ipswich will be changing for the top 2 spots in the league. In League 2, Gary Bowyer's Salford got a point with Orient yesterday. I think they should win the league this season.
  10. Naturally hostile, and out to ruin the party. I'd hope for a Burnley-esque turn out for this one and really raise the roof
  11. Most of these videos have been shared on here in various threads such as the Nostalgia one and the relevant player threads such as the Andy Cole, Brereton, Armstrong etc ones. However, they may have got lost amongst new posts and subsequently been missed by visitors and members of the forum, new and longstanding alike. Therefore, I've decided to create a specific thread for these compilation videos, where they can be easily found in one place and viewed by all Rovers fans on here. Any other compilations in the future will be added to this thread to make for easier viewing. What memories and what brilliant times (in the main, before the takeover). If any of the Rovers hierarchy are looking on at this thread, I have three words for you. STANDARDS. RAISE. THEM. There are nine videos in total (for now): 1. Andy Cole 2. Dwight Yorke 3. Jon Stead 4. Paul Dickov 5. Craig Bellamy 6. Bradley Dack 7. Ben Brereton Diaz 8. Adam Armstrong 9. Brad Friedel (Legend. Not a goal comp, but Brad has to be included)
  12. I have for sale (proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support) my retro genuine 1980s Rovers Training Jacket. In excellent condition except for a few small marks inside the collar (see pic). Labelled Large, imo it's more of a roomy Medium size Selling for £20, I will pay postage. Please reply below or pm. Thanks in advance.
  13. Good day all! I know I may not be everyones cup of tea but I come to you in hope - I have started an over ambitious project in order to celebrate Blackburn Rovers 150th anniversary hoping to wrangle 150 Blackburn Rovers fans to record a special Blackburn Rovers memory - whether it was a match, a player, a goal or just an occasion. I am looking for one memory for one day as we edge closer to November 5th to celebrate Rovers founding. Why am I here? Well I hope I can convince at least one of you to submit your own memory. Nothing fancy or spectacular required - just a recorded video of you reliving your Blackbun Rovers experience. If this is not for you - I dont blame you - however if you want to help in acheiving this goal of getting some fans together to celebrate something special then please drop your Rovers memory here: https://cutt.ly/brfcmem Hoping for a year to remember and would love to hear your Blackburn Rovers memories. Regards Dirk
  14. Hi All, Looking to buy a signed Rovers shirt, and wanted to check to see if signatures are legit or fake. Does anyone have the knowledge on signatures etc? Thanks
  15. Attended the Canadian Shield games yesterday, as the guest of the New Zealand Association. It was there that I met Ryan Nelsen. We had a pleasant chat and he stated that he loved his time with Rovers. A really nice bloke.
  16. BRFCS is delighted to announce that renowned Rovers historian & author Harry Berry (A Century of Soccer, The Blackburn Rovers Miscellany, The Men Who Made Blackburn Rovers since 1945) has given us access to his archive records of Rovers first team players. The initial batch of records representing players with surnames beginning with A have been loaded & can be accessed from the new Home Page &/or by following the link below :- https://www.brfcs.com/mb/index.php?/player-archive/ Our sincere thanks go to Harry for sharing this content, over time the record will build up to cover all players with a first team appearance but rather than wait until all the records are complete, we thought we would load them in instalments. Thanks also to @OnePhilT who once more has done a sterling job building the infrastructure to house these records and has single-handedly loaded this first batch of records. Hope you enjoy using this as a reference point for all your Rovers player enquiries...
  17. Hello everybody. There’s been a bit of talk recently about the ads on the site, so I wanted to clarify the position of the site. BRFCS is a not for profit (so far this year we’ve donated to Rovers Ladies, Tony Parkes, Rio Spurr amongst others) and as such is ran pretty close to the wire financially. We make revenue in three main ways: Adverts, BRFCS premium and sponsorship (thanks The Terrace, Rovers Trust). The ads are our biggest source of income, but income that is based on site visits. So during the season, especially around ‘big’ games the site does well and out of season the site doesn’t do well. We offer ‘premium’, which is an ad free experience so that anyone that either doesn’t like adverts or wants to help support the site has an option to do so. We don’t want to get into the world of asking for donations, so Premium is the offering for anyone wanting to support the site. As it’s off-season, this is a gentle reminder that if you enjoy BRFCS, or would like to say thanks to the team that work on it for free and give something back, premium is available here if you can afford to do so : https://brfcs.com/magazine/premium and you can read more here:
  18. Couldn't see another thread specific on this. I can see comments scattered around a few different pages so thought I'd centralise here. Markandy was outstanding for Chesterfield according to their local rag in their 5 nil win. 2 assists, ran Crewe ragged and was subbed after only 55mins. This is the kind of loan he should have had instead of that Aberdeen farce. He needs lots of games against players who will kick him. Connor O'Riordab played 90 mins for Cambridge in their 1 nil defeat in league 1.be interesting to see his progress there, considering that was the level of football he came from. Who else do we have on loan?
  19. It's that time of year again when the FA Cup third round draw is upon us. As a old traditionalist the FA Cup still a really important part of football and one of the highlights of recent seasons was reaching the quarter final a couple of years ago. I want a home tie primarily but if we do get drawn away I don't want it to be against a Premier League team. Either a League Two or non League team away would potentially give us a live TV match and the riches that go with it. And, more importantly for us fans an opportunity to progress. The draw is live on BBC 2 at 7 pm on Monday.
  20. Hi just w9ndered if anyone knew what the walk was coming from feniscowles down livesey branch road toward Ewood predominantly women in r0vers shirts has flags etc Just wonderes
  21. I was wondering what the first Rover’s match everyone attended was. Mine was at home vs Liverpool 15th October 1994.
  22. New fanzine coming out in spring. Hoping to celebrate 14th May 1995 by hearing some supporter stories from the day, especially if you were at Anfield and featured in any of the footage. So many questions! Who had the Greece flag?! Full suit, shirt and tie combo? A Liverpool shirt? Umbro Top Guy telling Flowers it's 1-1 at Upton Park! Recognise anyone? Already tracked down 5 names, including Martin Smith and Andy "fucking hell" Jones from the iconic post-Redknapp image. Any more insight or tales are very much appreciated!
  23. So, Its prediction time and who do we think will win the Premier League, Championship, League 1 and League 2? My prediction:- Premier League - Man City Championship - Luton Town league 1 - Rotherham United League 2 - Port Vale
  24. Just looking at the run ins of the teams in contention. I know there are no easy games in the championship, but everyone seems to have lots of tricky games with the teams around them West Brom have got Leeds, QPR, Burnley, Norwich, Sunderland, Bristol, Watford, Coventry Bristol City have Middlesbrough, QPR, Sheffield United, Norwich, Burnley, Watford, West Brom, Sunderland, Leeds Sheffield Weds have Coventry, Burnley, Sunderland, Norwich, Sheffield United, Rovers, Boro, Watford Boro have Watford, Bristol City, QPR, Rovers, Leeds, Sheffield W, Norwich, Coventry Coventry have Sheffield W, Sunderland, Sheffield U, Burnley, West Brom, Boro Norwich have Rovers, Sheffield W, Bristol, West Brom, Sunderland, Burnley, Boro Watford have Boro, Bristol, West Brom, Burnley, Rovers, Sheff W We have Norwich, Boro, Sheffield W, Sunderland, Watford, Sheff U After tonight’s win adding in QPR: they have Sheff U, West Brom, Boro, Leeds, Bristol, Burnley and Sunderland. Sheff W, Bristol and QPR’s run in looks brutal. Think Boro maybe have the best run in so may take a spot QPR and Coventry are in good form but have tough fixtures coming up. Who has momentum? Who do you think will make the play offs?
