Sorry to distract from tonight's main event but I'm a governor at a local primary school and I'd like to get a ball or a shirt signed by some of the players which we can then use a prize in the raffle at our summer fair (I'd buy the ball/shirt first obv - we don't want it to be given to us for free). Does anyone have any experience of how to get this done? I've emailed a few management contacts at Rovers but heard nothing back. Is the best thing to do just to hang around Brockhall looking a bit pathetic (not difficult) and gesture at my ball to passing Range Rovers? Thanks, Hugechin

We're at the business end of the season now, it's all to play for - and looking at the table it's still pretty tight at both ends! Which 3 do you think will go up to the PL? Which 3 do you think will go down to L1? I'll go first I guess! Up Burnley (1st) Middlesbrough (2nd) Rovers (PO) Down Wigan (24th) Blackpool (23rd) Rotherham (22nd)

According to Wikipedia, the most reliable source of information, the 2011 pre-season tour of India had Venky's as the kit sponsor. It was then The Prince's Trust for the actual season. Does anyone know where I can find a picture of the Venky's sponsor kit? Or is there footage from it? I'm just curious what it looked like, and can't find it on Google.

I keep fluctuating - one day I feel like we have absolutely no chance, the next I can be full of hope. If we can maintain the same level of aggression and determination that we displayed in the second half against Hudds throughout the rest of our remaining games, and keep creating chances (54 shots in our last 3 games) then I think we've a decent chance. There's certainly a team in there, with a few minor refinements I guess we could make the play-offs. What do you think?

This picture was posted on our board, he was making a delivery to Bargain Booze in the fine city of Stoke-on-Trent. Scored a few goals against us back in the day, for various clubs.. I presume it will be easier for you lot than it was for us...

Today has totally murdered me. It's made me think of the times that rovers have really brought me low. Palace eighty nine George bloody Courtney, glad all over and going into second leg with a healthy lead. Just absolutely unreal Sheffield Wednesday cup semi in ninety three. We'd just signed Anderson and I was hopeful of a trip to Wembley Leicester at home in ninety two or was it ninety one. I can still remember Russell getting that lucky bounce off mimms, all these years later. We needed a win to get back on track but we lost again The champions League campaign, the first portent that we were on the slide. Trelleborgs at home was a dead rubber. Great expectations come to nought Thecup semi against Chelsea, Morten missing An easy header Defeat against Burnley always hurts of course . think that's it

The Brentford match thread has included a lot of chatter about the potential renovation of the Riverside Stand at Ewood Park. The club have expressed a will to “do something” about the stand in recent past according to Steve Waggott and seemingly there are many different visions among the supporter base about what should and could happen. Some are suggesting a reduction in capacity for supporters, lowering from 4,000 seats in TRS currently, to as low as 1,000 by some fans estimations. Others look at Millwall’s and Brentford’s plans and see a necessity for an increase in capacity instead. Most seem to agree on the idea of a hotel, and an improvement to disabled supporters facilities on a game day. Currently, disabled facilities at Ewood are significantly behind other clubs at our level. We have no viewing platforms like at the DW Stadium, and wheelchair users end up sat at the front of TRS in the pouring rain, watching from a horrid (lower than the pitch itself) angle. So let’s use this thread to share some ideas amongst ourselves, discuss the possibilities and the practicalities of any potential upcoming renovations to the stand, and see if we can come up with a consensus between ourselves and see what we all agree and don’t agree on! TRS = The Riverside Stand

I’ve been thinking of posting this for a few days. I wanted to thank each and every one of you for making me feel so welcome on this forum. This, along with the teams performances over the past few months, has really reignited my passion for my club. I’m even starting to try to work out how I can get to a match before the season ends (it would help if they didn’t keep moving them!) Thank you again 😀😀

I have been approached by the wife of a Rovers fan who sadly died from dementia a few years ago. She has his collection of programmes that she wants to get rid of and hopes they can be found a good home rather than being thrown away. They are not especially old - some date from 1992 but most are from 2001-2006. I also have a lot off programmes myself which my wife would also like to get out of the house and in truth I'm quite happy to let go (I'll be keeping a few though!). If anyone wants them or knows of a good home please pm me. Separately I asked the club first to see if they knew of a good home and I got this from Nick Cooney at the Community Trust: - We are looking out for pre 1950s programmes, plus any original items, kit etc to form part of our future museum, if you do hear of anything or descendants of ex players, that would be great. So once again pm me if you can help.

Of the 92 current Clubs in the top 4 tiers of English Football, only 6 have yet to play at the " new " Wembley, can you name them ? Albert Allen ( Aston Villa ), Jack Yates ( Burnley ), John Veitch & Walter Gilliat ( Corinthians ) and Frank Bradshaw ( Sheffield Wednesday ) were all England Internationals, but all have one thing in common, what is it ? Which League ground is closest to the River Mersey ?

Hello fellow Rovers fans, I am posting this on behalf of my best mate Tom (a big Stoke City fan) who currently lives in Darwen. His fiancée (only 31) has recently been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer on her spine, hip, shoulder, skull & now liver. As much as we would all love to help her, the cancer is incurable, so we could try & raise money for future research to help future sufferers. On the 27th May Tom, his brother, his dad & 12 of us lads (mostly Rovers fans) are going to be tackling the 3 peaks 24 hour challenge. If you could spare a few minutes to visit Tom’s GoFundMe page to see what it’s all about it would be much appreciated & if you are in a position to donate, that would be even better. Here is the link below to the page, even if you just have a read 👍🏻 https://gofund.me/a044d338

I'm not sure whether this would interest anyone, but I figured I'd scan it in case it does. Here's the program from the Final. 1960 FAC Cup Final Program : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive Yeah, I realize I spelled it FAC instead of FA Cup. Don't care to fix it ha

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. The websites 11v11 and EnglishFootballLeagueTables did not have the information I'm looking for. I'm wanting to research our historical form in February. I can find the league tables for every year besides 1999-2000. What I'm specifically looking for is our position in the table on January 31, 2000 then again on March 1, 2000. Would anyone know where I could look to find these two stats? Maybe someone has the 1999-00 season review, a bunch of those reviews had that information in them.

I use to watch loads of rovers home and away live on ifollow for £10 when covid was here, when club stopped supporters entering the stadium. Is ifollow still available to watch live home and away matches, I've heard its £140 a year for a pass.

Just came across the full replay of the League Cup Final from 2002 on YouTube. Wasn't aware it was online, and thought others might want to watch it too. What a team we had then, and such happier times! A few things came to mind as I watched: How good was Brad. Those 3 saves from Ferdinand were just a testament to his quality. We took 30,000. The commentators mentioned it being a third of the town, and joked about the last person leaving switching the lights off. A town really behind their club! The numbers weren't actually that surprising though, considering we averaged 25k as late as 2011. How old were the Spurs forward line! Sherwood was the spring chicken at 33, with Poyet(34), Ferdinand(35) and Sheringham at 36. Age must have played a factor as the game progressed, and we weren't overly tested after Cole scored. All were trumped though by (Wales manager) Mark Hughes at 38. How did he last 90 mins! What a player Matt Jansen was. Eriksson has a lot to answer for wasting our golden generation, but taking Keown over Matty in 2002 was arguably his biggest crime! Watching it reminds me of the Wigan debate when they were relegated and won the cup, and whether they would have preferred staying up. In hindsight, I would side with winning the cup for the memories! I'm sure the club will commemorate it, and let's hope it's a double celebration as we clinch promotion this year. Would love to hear others' memories of the day.

Unless I missed a change in the law. Tottenham corner and the linesman standing there. I see it all the time. Other contenders ”We will take each game as it comes.” Every manager asked if they have a chance of winning anything. “The club is on a journey.” Every manager after a run of losses to avoid any questions about the sack. Any other beefs as we wait for when Saturday comes.

Don't suppose anyone has Rovers v Middlesbrough 25.03.1969 programme for sale? Also, does anyone know if there was a programme produced for the postponed game 07.10.1989 also against Middlesbrough? Any help is appreciated

If there was to be a protest following this latest balls up if there was a protest who do people believe this should be against. I dont believe many would protest against the owners at this stage. Would it be just Waggot, would it be Sylvester, would it be the board in general would that include Broughton??

I think this deserves its own thread. There is a podcast with Gregg Broughton here. It was recorded the day after the Bonlah defeat. I really think it's worth listening to because there is a lot to dissect, as well as some interesting nuggets of information about how the football world works behind the scenes in the modern era.
