Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
Tomphil2 replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yeah he's still trying to position himself as a bridge between them and us but it's rather pointless now. They aren't going to offer him a job and even if they did trotting out the same rhetoric won't work this time there's way too much water under the bridge. -

Genuine question @glen9mullan, and apologies if I have missed in the thread, do the Raos know about Saturday's boycott and have you been in touch with them directly? -

Once we are relegated (and we will be) none of the following will be here, either due to getting the wage bill down, they hold some value or will want to leave: Gudjohnsen Alebiosu Tronstad Cantwell Mori Toth Miller Picks (assuming he's still here) Ribeiro (assuming he's still here) Pears Hedges (out of contract) TGH (not signed, end of loan) Baradji (not signed, end of loan) Cashin (end of loan) Jorgensen (Can't see him sticking around for League One) Forshaw (out of contract) Tyjon I think the club would look to shift out: Wharton Carter McLoughlin They'll want McLoughlin's wages off the books and Carter and Wharton might be difficult to shift due to injuries Which leaves: De Neve (might get a move back to a low level in europe) Taveres (no ones taking him) Kargbo (no ones taking him) Yuki (someone might take him, but he's been awful for a good while now) Montgomery Garrett Henriksson (might get a move back to a low level in europe) O'Riordan Pratt Litherland Powell Doherty Acheson (assuming he doesn't get picked off by a bigger fish) Michalski Barrett Edmonson (returns from loan) Dlamini That's a squad of 17, pretty much academy players (or dross) which I suspect would be the foundations for our lengthy exile into League One. Wage bill down significantly and pats on the back all round in the circus. -

The centre halves particularly McClaughlan need protecting and the defence tightening us as whole like Eustace pinpointed when he came in. Tighten it up, get Pickering back in and if they can't get a shield in front of them with the likes of Forshaw, Tronstad and TGH we might as well give up. They need to become a unit again and build from there, 4 at the back now imo. Andre back up top and the new guy playing off him, drop Yuki and drop off a bit to allow space in behind. -

If Wharton wasn't injured and had had a good season they'd have had him out the door the min there was a sniff of a fee. 100% guaranteed. -

But the club haven’t been onside for months now, Elliott is banned from all things Ewood / Brockhall. And yet his job continues, seemingly without any real impediment and from what I can see commercially, the current day Rovers seem to place no direct advertising with the LT. In my opinion, going to war, they have nothing to lose and potentially a lot to gain. -
Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Tomphil2 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
As time went on once Gestede arrived Waggot was a thorn in the side of the other two that's obvious, if he served their purpose he'd still be here. He clearly held the club back and was a downscaler but that was his methodology and his experience was in that field, keep it stable whilst chipping away at it. We were going backwards but at a slower rate and i said at the time him gone removed any last remaining semblance of actual football stewardship whatever guise it came in. Now we have a guy drunk on his own control of the money and a tea boy ex player aligned with him both controlling their puppet in the technical area. So basically there is no one to challenge them, watch them and if need be try to go over their heads. The division before was bad enough but yielding full control to these two has proven even worse, they are driven on pure ideology not reality. -

What a serial demotivator. Saying we can’t compete in the championship with all the injuries. How do the youngsters learn from that. Part of it is his communication and language skills. A pretty important box to tick off at a job interview. Wrong man, wrong club, wrong time. Sadly it is becoming a habit. -

I've been wondering this for a while. Back in the day I think you could legitimately class the LT as a local organisation based on the High St in Blackburn. Now their old offices are flats for asylum seekers, God knows where they're based (if anywhere at all) and they're merely part of a National organisation (Newsquest) based all over the Country whose senior management probably couldn't care less about Blackburn Rovers or indeed any other individual Club in their catchment areas. As far as the team writing for the LT is concerned, there probably isnt a Rovers fan in the place. If however they did go to war with the Club I'd have thought it would earn them a lot more clicks and attention in the short term than by simply endorsing everything that happens down at Ewood. The problem is if they are unsuccessful. They are stuffed without having the Club onside in the long term. -

I do indeed! If I recall correctly, signed from Grimsby for £10k and drove over to Blackburn to sign in a hire car as he didn't have his own car! He got 2 of the goals against Plymouth at Ewood and that might have even been his debut (51 years ago so having to dig deep into the memory bank for the smaller detail). -

He isnt in the team to scare the opposition. He was our best player for me last night which is not saying much. He is very good at what he does and its a very specialist role. Problem is, there is a mess around him. It is pretty embarassing that we signed a new centre back and after 1 game are not playing him, considering how poor yesterdays back 3 was individually. Centre back like other positions is an area where you could write down enough names to suggest we have more than enough bodies yet quality wise its impossible to put together a competent defence. Forgetting how good or otherwise Cashin is, his profile made no sense. Our centre backs are poor in the air, so we sign a really short centre back. We badly needed someone who is right footed and who can go in the middle, Cashin doesnt tick any of those boxes. Atcheson clearly has talent but isnt ready to be playing at this level. O'Riordan looked out of his depth and when the pair are looking for a dominant partner, they get McLoughlin. -

I can’t understand why, having been humiliatingly banned from his ‘workplace’, EJ and the LT aren’t at war with the regime and looking to drop any ammunition they have on behalf of real Blackburn Rovers supporters. Why let them walk all over you, when you can take the moral high ground and light the fire to stoke the fans up and the regime out. -

Hmmm....... Can't agree, the problem would appear to be more he's been replaced with no-one because they thought they could get away with it and save on the cost. He did also sit there in the car crash interviews endorsing the departure of Eustace, the appointment of Ismael (who apparently in their view topped all the performance criteria) and the bat shit crazy "transition". -

I guess Picks, Wharton, Carter, Pears, Tronstad are the remaining core. Rest mercs/individuals, except the academy lads. I don't believe Val has the ability to build team morale for a second -

You echo what the big majority of rovers fans think Ian. The feeling is of total despair to what the owners are doing to a club that so many have loved for their entire lives. -

As regards Tronstatd, he’s tidy on the ball and passes it well. It’s hard to see anything beyond that. I wouldn’t say he’s a terrier who puts opposition players under any kind of pressure in midfield, I wouldn’t say he’s a terrier who gets close to his midfield opponents. He certainly isn’t any kind of creative player either. In short if I were in the opposition team he certainly wouldn’t scare me. He does what he does relatively well but that’s not a lot. -

Fair, obvious answer is Jorgensen I guess. Low bar at the moment. I do tend to disagree with you generally on Tronstad but would agree he's been sub par recently and that as a senior player I expect far more. - Today

Powell, Jorgensen and I thought Atcheson was generally pretty good apart from was it his header out for one of the goals? Apart from that no-one. They were all crap. -

May be rose tinted spectacles but there were some very decent players in the 1975 line up. Sir Roger, Burgin as you say very classy, Waddington and Faz, Hawkins,Oates, Metcalfe, Parkes. Remember Mike "The Rock" Hickman who I think came in midway through the season? He'd scare the shit out of the current line up!. Lol -

Alan Meyers wants a bob each way I think. Clearly Venkys aligned, hence praising them as "good people", saying nothing of their ability to run a successful a football club, but also thinks they should sell rather than improve how the club is governed and financed. So theyre "good people" who aren't capable of running a professional sporting club? Why not out and say that while you've got your soapbox? And if you think theyre good owners, why should they sell? Which is it? -

The almost funny thing is that should/when we go down, 90% of the squad will believe that league 1 is below their ability and try and move on, especially the imports we have taken this season despite their ability being very much league 1 - and below. We don’t have and Charlie mulgrew types in the team. Like I said at the start of the season and was met with criticism, it’s a very unlikeable and distant squad with the fans. Literally none seem to hold much affection with the club and it’s a team of individuals
