Jim, that’s all they know. They can’t play any other way.
-
To lose in 2 days like that requires a special kind of uselessness. McCullum and Stokes have questions to answer about the approach to that game in view of England's poor preparation for the series and the players need to look at themselves and rein in the Bazball nonsense and play proper Test cricket, which means patience and playing each ball on its merits.

Only praising us because they know where they belong. As Sherwelood said they're riding in a false position. Everyone knows PNEs football isn't top 6 stuff. They'll drop soon enough, and with the points being close that top box will be playing switcheroo toward the end of the season. -
Sounds like they bowled like it today. The idea was to bat all day today and give them a rest. As it was they’re back bowling again in no time.

Great night. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was really only an anaesthetic. Even in my joy, I played back some of Radio Lancs Sport on the computer.... and it pissed me off. What chance have we got! Bayes being all too gentle around the last minute transfer window departure of Dom Hyam and the concern about two injury prone centre halves, "Everybody makes mistakes" etc. Is this in the context of what happened to Elliot Jackson? Think "Quiet, piggie" and the BBC ....Then, Kevin Gallacher going on about "in hindsight".. F***** Hell! In risk assessment terms, the risk of that kamikaze decision was blindingly obvious and explicit. At the time, I was almost certain that both SW and HC would be injured again, probably at the same time and that the consequences were likely to be very serious for the future of the club.. I can't think of one supporter, who could not have foreseen that... -
I thought we didnt want to be too open or gift them loads of chances in the first 30 mins hence why we didnt attack too much. After that we dominated the game and were deserved winners. Sherwood's comments about Rovers's performance were spot on. Still cant believe Whiteman got away with that clear red card Still buzzing about the win and performance. My PNE's supporting work colleagues were full of praise for our performance and slamming their own team's performance.
-
I’ve only seen the highlights so I can’t really comment on performances. I thought the header from Gudjohnsen was top notch, they are very easy to get wrong at that angle. The lad can finish, not much doubt about that. Gueye should have scored with his header, how can a big guy be so poor at heading the ball ? All in all a great win. I couldn’t see that coming at 8.00 pm with so many players being out for one reason or another. 100% effort from every player and that’s all I ever ask for from Rovers players. Has I’ve said before the players are playing for the manager so we might has well get behind him. The set piece coach is earning his corn, that’s good to see. Top marks for Miller playing after flying all over the world last week.
-
Well, this team continue to surprise me with their away form. Also couldn't be happier to be proven wrong on the set pieces comment I made on here yesterday. Two well worked goals off the training ground. It was definitely the right call to stay with a back 3, and Pratt seemed to cope ok given he was chucked in at the deep end. Maintaining this shape with injuries / suspensions with Rovers thin squad is going to be difficult. Delighted that Gudjohnsen bagged another, hopefully he can keep up a consistent run of scoring. Hopefully the lads can kick on and start turning that home form around now, starting with QPR on Wednesday.

At least our bowlers won’t be tired!

He's doing the job he was designed for as back up to a better keeper at this level. If you want success in this league you need good back up in every key position but you have to pay the wages for it which this lot don't like doing. It would be crazy to get rid of him this season no way is that number 3 kid anywhere near ready. -
Its all about opinions.. Perth was always going to be a bit of a 'shoot out' for me, we usually win those types of games. On to Gabba next, well done Aussies, we'll get you next time, I hope!

He needs to hold his bosses to account om the crowd thing they've killed the Blackburn End iv'e never seen it as empty for league games. Stupid targeted pricing policy designed to squeeze the most popular area for local adults. The ONLY way to boost rovers crowds is do what North End and Bolton did a few years ago with season tickets, price according to your local market not national statistics. By the way, when they had a big crowd and atmosphere last time out they flopped as did Preston last night so maybe just maybe it's really all down to the team management and recruitment. -
I don’t think they always play the opposition and for me that is the issue. They certainly don’t seem to have much of an ability to ‘change tack’ mid match. When it works it’s great but when it doesn’t (such as today) it’s awful - I hoped by now they might have found more of a middle ground.

Yes, there are 'fans' who believe that its up turn up in big numbers and shout loudly in support of the lads. They have the wrong way round. The Club provides the entertainment, if we a) like it and b) think its value for money---we turn up. They have to provide the package first, we aren't obligated in any way. -

I know and I’m not criticising either those that attend and create little atmosphere or indeed those who choose not to attend, but the point remains that it’s a pretty crappy place to play. Ultimately we all know the main reason of course, the wankers in Pune. -
We have absolutely no situational awareness.
-
From the hour I’ve watched this morning, we’ve just been Bazballed. This second test was a mullering, let’s have it right.
- Today
-
They don't always 'Go for it' as we saw earlier this year against India. They play the opposition, most of the time we win, occasionally we lose, but we do have room for a draw or 2, I’ll give you that. We've scored over 800 against Pakistan, over 500 against NZ, over 500 against Zimb, winning many of these tests. Don't let the 'nay sayers' on here muddy the waters, the facts speak louder than the bullshit,
-
Pathetic and as predicted. You can get away with batting like amateurs in one innings but not a second time. Horrible losing to them in any circumstances but this is a humiliation.
-
Bazball is absolutely cretinous. Not having a decent defence to back up trying to hit it out the park is utterly useless. I agree with Wilsdenrover that the openers should be able to absorb the pressure and build the innings. If they play like this in the second test, McCullum and Stokes must be binned off at the end of another humiliation.
