  1. Past hour
  2. The two Hats wont do either, its deliberate.
  3. I think your mind is playing tricks on you. 2-2.5 years ago, he had ben a regular in rovers first team for a couple of years & had played over 3000 minutes for us in the Championship alone
  4. Carter might not be present and Batth gone, yet they aren't submitting good enough offers on centre backs. Messing around for months. We need two. The player catch up and need to spend more is our own making due to total negligence. Sort it out and get fit players with good pedigree into training now!! Offer acceptable contracts and rebuild some spirit with long term objectives/ incentives and start acting like a serious football club..... or sell up and give it to someone who will.
  5. Lol.....A new term, especially for Venky Rovers.. " The club, who tried wolf."
  6. ...But! BUT! we tried. Blackburn Rovers, the low-balling specialists.
  7. I genuinely think they make a list every window of players they know they can't afford then just make phone calls to all the various agents who then in turn tip off the media or twitter accounts. Linked with every player under the sun in certain price ranges but sign non. Then it's but we tried but X offered a bigger fee, Y offered bigger wages and Z's club wanted way too much. All lapped up by cries of 'but we only get 12k' if all the fans came back we'd.....
  8. I would guess that our offer 2-2 1/2 years ago wasn't lower than he was worth at the time. He was only just breaking into the first team. It's a big hypothetical on the 15,000. As is the guess that we only offered 6,000 and that he was already making 2,000. But, sure, we can come up with numbers that somewhat justify the decision to actively earn less for over 2 years. But you would have to go hard to convince me that he wouldn't be better off on a higher sum here, with one year left on a deal, established in a decent Championship club, and positioning himself for either a move this summer (seemingly there wouldn't be demand) or moving on a free in 12 months after he had really built a reputation. This isn't even factoring in the possibility that he could have had a serious injury at any point in the last 2 seasons and significantly reduced his future earning potential. Players should almost always take the contract 2/3 years before their current deal runs out as they still maintain all of the power to demand a new one or manufacture a move. It's why our inability to get players to sign new deals 2/3 years out is such a strong indicator of how poorly run the club is.
  9. Rovers seem experts in having offers rejected. Transfers and first team contracts.
  10. Yep,finally looking like its caught up with us..only so many times you can dodge a Bullet. In our 150th year it could be don 'yer Tin Hats time. Fecking disgrace this lot.
  11. To be fair, his contract is up in May 2026 and he's playing in the SPL (not at Rangers or Celtic), so how much is he realistically worth? They signed him for 350k Euros in 2022. I don't know much about the guy, but looking at it on paper I'd probably say this would make sense, certainly to the Rovers hierarchy. Contract running out, good age, potential to improve, and in 2-3 years he's probably reaching his best years. Hibs just had a really good season, finishing 3rd and reaching Europe. Of course, there will be very few of us that know anything about him, but that probably accounts for 90% of transfers that get done. This one, I can see the logic.
  12. With CB back in training Boro must be way off in valuation. Or simply moved on
  13. I thought when I posted above that it was non-controversial as I said but clearly that's a rare thing on here. I thought it made sense too. The post above about Everton's shirt seems to contradict what we were told though.
  14. You're right, he is an average championship player. Unfortunately he'll be replaced by someone far below average if he's even replaced at all.
  15. According to the Scottish Sun, the offers have been booted out as being " nowhere near" the Club's valuation. Whoever would have thunk it?
  16. Today
  17. If we were in administration then things would be running infinitely better than this. They might even get the shirt design right.
  18. Agreed. Been coming for a while. Rovers unprepared for a new season....who'd have thought? Fck off, Venky's..
  19. The emphasis on keeping possession that's drummed into players these days has all but killed the 'winger' and i don't think it did him any favours. Not that he wouldn't have over egged it anyway but the various head coaches he's worked under never seemed phased or tried to coach that out of him. The narrative though that he was just another average workhorse easily replaceable in our chronic situation has taken on a life of its own and is quite frankly nonsense.
  20. I think as time passes and we see what's going on and hear more and more little bits it's obvious why Eustace wanted out - to basically anywhere and even why these lot were happy to push him towards the door. In private the idiots upstairs will have been jumping through hoops they got compensation for him. He obviously didn't believe in guaranteeing pathways to kids he didn't feel were ready and knew the key to success in this league is looking after you core and tying down assets whilst bringing in fresh blood in key areas. He's a horses for courses guy and they whilst not always the most entertaining or interesting are usually the most successful when working with limited resources. I mean the pettiness of not letting Dack train with them to keep fit when Eustace said it was ok, how pathetic is that.
  21. This is surely at odds with the requirement to field x,000 minutes of Academy graduates, right? Transfermarkt tells me he's a RB. We've just bought a RB and have a promising Academy graduate RB who's 20 (i.e. sink or swim time) in Duru. Are we really trying to buy another RB?
  22. As opposed to the 'hard working, but delaying / putting the wrong weight / picking the wrong pass, turning back into trouble with a pointless pirouette and being run down by every fullback' types? The legend of Dolan has grown exponentially since he decided he wasn't staying. He's an average Championship player, with his workrate carrying a significant portion of that value.
  23. People can't seem to get to grips it isn't as straightforwards as just saying ta ta walking away and signing for the first club to slap a better paid contract in front of him. You can sense the desire to see him going to Wigan for 5k a week just so it's 'i told you so' 🤣
