  1. Past hour
  2. It’s a bummer but it’s football. The pitch got them out of jail. I was right in line with that last passage of play and the ball just wouldn’t run at all. It had become a lottery and it was highly dangerous in my opinion. So they get to come back and play a full game with it being 0-0, 11 v11, and nobody on a card. “ Some Guys Have All The Luck “.
  3. Anybody care to comment on the pen? Live, at the game, I thought there was going to be a booking for a dive. More than happy to be corrected. On the game. Think Mori shoud play up top with Ohashi as they clearly think quickly and understand each other. Cantwell wasted up top -they played a very high line and he is not fast enough to exploit the space behind. Other than that, fairly regulation stuff from either side. 2 chances for them first half (one straight at Toth and one a reasonable save from Hirst). 1 for them right across the face of goal. Ref gave us pretty much everything. No point crying about the abandonment. Correct decision from ref as pitch became unplayable safely. We could certainly argue about what should happen now, but given precendent and the rules, looks like a fully replay. Pasha rubbing hands. Mori has made a big difference and I think Gud will too. Looking at the sides we have played this season, the league certainly seems average/ January/february/injuries will tell the real story I guess. Not been dull so far 🙂
  4. Wow that genuinely really surprises me, I was (99%) sure they would just automatically make the tickets available for re-use. Seems like most clubs would feel the right thing to do is to honour original ticket sales? Or not?
  5. Yes bloody BBwD council dig your bloody river up and take it elsewhere of there'll be no Harrods hampers at Christmas.
  6. In fairness to the Venkys, the one thing they are usually quick to do is lawyer up. Look at the O’Brien situation however futile and wasteful it ended up being!
  7. Ah yes, we're being sold down the River (Darwen), by our favourite former orange juice salesman.
  8. No. That only happens if it is called off before the game starts. We will have to pay again unless the club are overcome with generosity 🤣🤣🤣
  9. Steve Waggott planned to get a new water pumping drainage system in place along with a large rainwater storage tank. He planned this after the last debacle v Millwall when the game was called off close to kick off. It was turned down for cost reasons by our illustrious Chief Operating Officer who instead wanted the Council to reroute the river.
  10. I think you need to read the post that prompted the question
  11. No way will the club turn down a chance to make more money !
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2004/dec/13/newsstory.sport4 Happened in Spain once (not weather related but still abandoned) and they managed to just to play the rest of the game. Why should it be unworkable here?
  13. According to rovers “Customer Charter”:- If a match is postponed after this time but before kick-off, ticket holders are entitled to free admission to the rearranged game or a refund. If a match is abandoned after kick-off, spectators are entitled to half price admission to the rearranged match.
  14. Thought he just ran out of ideas and hoofed it forward hoping poor Ohashi might make something of it.
  15. Kargbo was fast asleep. He should have anticipated the ball would stick, but he didn’t,
  16. Should be replayed - refs are always against us. 😉
  17. Did like the way Miller carried the ball out of defence and always looked for a forward pass. Played a few lovely passes into midfield to turn Ipswich round and get us on the front foot.
  18. Really? I remember this game well
  19. Sorry what? A blind man could have taken the decision not to pass it through the biggest puddle on the pitch. If that's the logic being applied then no wonder it got called off 🤷
  20. Probably trying to sway the decision. Fairest thing to do would be to play that last 11+ minutes as was, but that’s unworkable in practice. either way we’re bound to lose the replay, I just hope it doesn’t cost us come the end of the season.
  21. Then there would be plenty on here moaning about late cancellation, travelling fans etc etc.
  22. A full replay is technically unfair, but I don't see any real justification to award us the win either. There was still plenty of time for Ipswich to equalise, even down to ten men. It's hardly unprecedented for that to happen in the last 15 minutes or so (including potential injury time). Also, the reason the game was abandoned was because our pitch couldn't handle the weather. It was nothing Ipswich did wrong, so why should they be penalised for the game being abandoned? You can argue how the solution should be handled and it's quite reasonable to say a full replay is not fair to us, but it's also quite reasonable to say giving us the win is not fair to Ipswich either, as it denies them the last 10-15 minutes of the game through no fault of their own.
  23. Makes me think of Lewis Mansell and Keith Barker of Rovers youth yesteryear. Target men forwards who scored for fun at U18s and a fair few at reserve level, I think, but found it harder once faced by older defenders. Joseph looks like one to watch, though, and will be welcome in the U21s, for sure, where the forwards are struggling.
  24. We could not even beat Ipswich in their promotion season from League one but nearly got them today relegated from the Premier League would it not been for the weather ...we played well TGH better than Tavares.
