v Ipswich Town (h) - 20/9/25
Lancaster Rover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Performance wise I was very pleasantly surprised, albeit I thought Ipswich were well below what I was expecting. Tronstad and Hickman had a relatively easy day IMO. Pitch wise the minute the ball stuck giving Kargbo change to pounce it was game over, they can’t allow the weather to impact the result in such an obvious way. It’ll no doubt be replayed in full with 11 v 11, the player will serve his ban starting tomorrow and we’ll get no benefit from the man advantage in the replay. It’ll likely be played during our post Jan injury slump and we’ll get beat. Sods bloody law -

Nothing on website either just all come to an abrupt stop. I think they are deciding whether we get the W or not. -

Neither club are doing any post-match or any statements because the game has to be referred to a panel to decide what happens about the result. Neither club wants to be seen to be trying to influence the panel so neither club will be making comments on what happened. (I got that from Radio Lancs earlier) -

Have to disagree with you here. Regardless of what minute it was, the pitch was preventing football being played. I've watched that video you posted and although there's clearly water on the pitch, the ball was still rolling, even when being carried by whoever it was who scored our 3rd. Multiple times today, that wasn't the case. I'm as frustrated as you are that we were close to taking a win from a probable promotion contender, but taking away any bias, it was (sadly) the right decision. -

You can't really think that's an option surely? Travel from Ipswich to play 10 minutes of football, with 10 men? It won't be the FA whi decide either will it, surely its the EFL? -

How would that be fair? There were still 10 minutes plus injury time left. The fair solution would be to play the last chunk of the game with the man advantage. But I am sure it will be a full replay. Not because the FA want to "fuck us over" but it seems to be precedent. -

Chaddy, you’ve posted the Portsmouth game and the last two highlights are in the 87th and 90th minutes and the ball is rolling better than it was today. Everyone can see that. But in your typical obstinate fashion you refuse to change your opinion and insist it was ‘worse’ than today. -

That would be the fairest all round IMO - even if it’s behind closed doors without fans to save everyone the hassle of coming again. But yep, it’ll be full rematch and I’ll be getting my mortgage on us losing it. -

I think that bit is incorrect in what I shared. They will still get a suspension with it being a red. I think yellows get wiped but I'm not 100% sure. -

Having gone into the 80th minute the game should have finished today. We seen worst conditions like Portsmouth at home in 2017 for example. -

You could have gone in front, hirst through 0-1 if it hadn't been for a great save from Toth, but we were in control at 1-0, that's football abandoned. -

In a fair world we get awarded 3 points or worst case replay 10 mins with them a man and goal down. But you just know the FA will fuck us over and the game expunged and replayed with a clean slate. I won’t be going on principal. -

Ipswich only need to point back to a couple of games ago where we conceded twice after 90mins, to suggest they had a chance of getting something out of the game. As you say, no resolution is fair for everyone really. Unfortunately, Rovers are Rovers and it's basically a foregone conclusion that we will lose the replay, probably spectacularly. -

I hope all your fans got back OK. I feel for people who spent their hard earned money and time to see an unfinished game after travelling all that way. Interesting comments on McKenna, presumed he would still have his Halo . -

We were cruising...stopping the game was only good for Ipswich...it was a nailed on three points....you all know what the outcome will be... Even if its terrible weather as a referee you should stop the game at 0-0 at half time. I think this is a bit in the referee... -

They need to invest in a super soaker like the one Lancashire cricket have. Get it on before the game starts and at half time and that game gets finished. But then we're calling for investment so that's not happening. -

He did make himself look like a bit of an arsehole, but I think any fan would want their own manager to be up to the same shenanigans to look out for their team and gain an advantage. We've done this to ourselves by having incompetent owners who don't keep our ground up to modern standards. -

The longer the game went on the more unplayable the pitch became. How long did it take to fix the refs arm connection? Ha just seeing ref in Manure game having same problem.
