  1. Past hour
  2. He has the ability though...Personally think it would be a low risk signing...Wages will be an issue mind.
  3. Dennis has a higher ceiling, decent age so he only needs to put a few decent performances in and we'd make good profit on him next year.
  4. Gueye is a waste of space, always has been. Would be losing a really poor striker. We could have done with a third striker but we have like at CB missed our chance there to get a reasonable option. Dennis though, did people watch the same player as me? Rubbish.
  5. Gueye is nowhere near good enough but I would have waited until Jan. An injury to a striker and we're down to one option up top. Unless we're in the market for a free striker. Bamford or Dennis would be an upgrade.
  6. I’m not that fussed if gueye goes tbh, other than we should have got another striker in before the window shut
  7. Gueye would set some real records in the Turkish League. Records in the sense that with his positional awareness he may be the first man to play a game of football in both Asia and Europe at the same time at Istanbul away
  8. Unpopular opinion, but if we got Dennis in for Gueye I would be happy. I imagine he'll be off to Saudi though.
  9. Before he leaves, someone may want to tell him that they have the offside rule out there too...
  10. Kocaelispor's record transfer spend is about Β£1.5m, way back in the year 2000... since then they've never spent over Β£700k on a player, but usually get them for way less or for free. Just for an idea of the peanuts we're likely to get for Gueye.
  11. Absolute suicide, but hey it's all about saving cash.
  12. So can Gueye still leave? Is the Turkish window still open?
  13. Oh I'm sure there'll be someone else between Ismael and him πŸ˜‚
  14. Today
  15. Yeah this is correct. Looking at our squad though, the most I can see us registering is 23 and that includes Pears who might not be registered anyway.
  16. Makhtar Gueye is offside so often, if he boarded a flight to Turkey, he'd probably end up sitting a row ahead of his assigned seat
  17. Thing is the court case has been used as largely the reason this is happening now but way before it came to light we had the Lenihen, Nyambe, Rothwell saga's. Perhaps we are paying in a way for that now i'm sure if the owners were aware of it they can't have been happy with that at all, then there was BBD and 7 million and 4 years of coaching and wages flushed down the bog. Why is the shadowman still anywhere near the club ? Is this his way of trying to pay them back and atone for his errors ? If we listened back to some of Mowbray's hints in interviews towards the end of his reign they knew this was coming.
  18. Each league season is treated in isolation not average that point itself is irrelevant Wrexham have broke all sorts of records in their spending and are buying good championship proven players but let’s bite - Adam Wharton went to palace what does that say about him? didn’t say he was β€˜great’ but at this level he is very good a not sure why your underplaying his ability
  19. I think it's a good move for him. I regularly watch NLN football and it's a good standard. In fact I saw Macclesfield at Southport a few weeks ago in a really good, competitive game played at a good tempo. Oh and also watching the game was one James Edmondson. Macclesfield are still part time so I guess Edmondson will still be training at Brockhall.
  20. 3-0 Watford. Good transfer window and kept all their best players
  21. According to the job description, its only a 1 year contract, at which point the project will probably change again, so it probably is a stop gap πŸ˜‰
  22. Exactly ! the contract issue is not new They faffed around with mcfadz he even left then eventually re signed but lost a summer of training let Diaz go for free let Dolan go for free etc they know they can’t keep losing assets so this way they recoup some ££ to keep the club afloat by using it to pay the bills not really reinvest it’s a real shame can understand why jdt and eustace walked in the way they did
  23. My only gripe, is in the interview with the LET he's openly calling it a stop gap before he finds something else and admits he's learning on the job. It reads as though this was hastily offered to him. Perhaps he's just too honest. It's definitely jobs for the boys but that is football it's a boys club, a lot of the time. Bigger fish to fry in terms of criticism of the club. Ultimately, I don't think it's a role that's too taxing, he should be able enough to judge the right level a player should be playing at and what support they need. Personally I'd give it to @KentExile who's basically doing half the job anyway
  24. Don't let him hear you get his job title wrong! RG= 'Head of Football Operations'.
  25. He was in the 7th tier during his loan last season, which was only a couple of months (personally thought it should have been extended till the seasons end). He has just signed for half a season with a team likely to be right at the top of the 6th tier until the next transfer window. Should be a nice stepping stone for his development n my opinion. I said at the end of last season that I would like to see him go back to macclesfield on loan, and whilst I did wonder if Robbie Savage (who waxed lyrical about Edmondson during his loan last season) may have taken him to Forrest Green in the National League, maybe the very top of the National league may be a step too far at this minute. Entirely possible that a good loan in surroundings he knows from last season means a reunion with Savage, or maybe even that he skips level 5 altogether and spends the second half of the season in the EFL
  26. The Wrexham that have surpassed our transfer record this summer? The Wrexham that will likely finish above us this year? Yes it probably is why he's gone there.
  27. They'll get that sooner or later. Thick as pig shit is the nicest thing I can think to say about these oxygen thieves.
