  1. Past hour
  2. The Clash - English Civil War
  3. I get if people want to support the team but we need to gain a backbone and stop standing for this and take action. We can’t keep letting them destroy us and keep ‘just get behind them’ nonsense.
  4. We were a proud well run club and now look at us, an absolute laughing stock. I can’t describe my hatred for venkys, pasha and Rudy.
  5. That is the hardest hitting one for me. With a full backing from everyone it says we are ignoring the last fifteen years just as they have by ignoring the history and traditions of the club and town. And not to mention the 'we will absolutely respect the Jack Walker legacy' statement from the lady Venky. I think it's something that could capture the imagination of the wider media. An alternative to the 150 year awful official merchandise could be things with 135th anniversary on them.
  6. Bad comparison. Least Southgate can man manage.
  7. Apparently the Coach that season was someone called Grant Brebner a Scottish man from Edinburgh who doesn't seem to have had any managerial experience before or after. Him and Kean seemingly worked at Reading at the same time years ago. Kean took over as interim manager in April until the end of the season when Brebner was sacked.
  8. 2020/21 you say. Hmm. 🫣
  9. (Tin hat on) There's so much you can legitimately go at them on that I think this is a red herring and a bit of a coincidence which deflects attention from the real issues. A bit like the conspiracy rumours in the old days about Venky's not being the actual owners etc. Even if it's not sheer coincidence and say for the sake of argument Kean/Gestede/Waggott and Pasha have connections to or dealings with some of the same people or agents within the footballing world, what does it prove other than a bit of an old boys network?
  10. In that case I agree with you. They have a splintered fanbase like we have, they've had some decent coverage so far, especially the refusal to enter the ground at Leicester until a given time and the pitch invasion. The way to bring about change is often through strength in numbers, we need an alliance, desperately.
  11. Today
  12. Considering his comments in those podcasts assuming the translation was correct it's no wonder he is less than impressed with the current coach and tactics. And it shows. I bet his agent is working overtime to get him out in January, just like Todds.
  13. Gives them ammo to blame the fans and the media tend to jump on board with that in a way they don't towards other clubs. Boycott first then the next match back the team and hammer the regime. I just think the time is ripe now for a one match boycott given we are halfway there and the usual chorus of 'get behind the lads ffs' will now be proven dud because the ones that sling it don't anyway.
  14. I know this may have been brought up before? It intrigues me how such a left field appointment as Head of Football Operations could be made at an established championship club. Rudy Gestede is 37 years old and seems to have zero experience in coaching or management. AI: Connection between Steve Kean and Rudy Gestede The connection: They overlapped at the club Because both were at Melbourne Victory in the 2020-21 period, Kean (as part of the coaching staff) and Gestede (as a player) worked simultaneously at the club. Specifically: Kean was assistant coach from October 2020, and Gestede joined as a player in November 2020. They were both part of Melbourne Victory’s setup in that season. Hence, their connection is through their employment at the same club at the same time Is this a remarkable coincidence or are other factors at play?
  15. I'd go with same formation unless injuries occur. Scoreline 8-0. Southampton. I'll be watching via phone notification
  16. He's like a piss poor version of Gareth Southgate. Sets teams up well but has no idea how to counter the oppositions tactics. He's not even reactivate never mind proactive
  17. Fair point. But then again, it was the owners who started "bragging" how they were gonna sign players like Ronaldinho and Beckham and made a ridiculous bid for Raúl when he was at Schalke. They were the ones trying to show "ambition" at first but for any supporter, it was embarrasing to see. They had three transfer windows during the stint in PL to demonstrate their financial muscles yet their biggest signing was Scott Dann for a measly £5.5 million. Only after relegation was confirmed and the realization of sudden loss of revenue did they panic and bought Jordan Rhodes for £8 million in an attempt to go straight back up. First visible crack of their vision of the club and lack of knowledge was the sacking of Sam Allardyce and somehow appointing Steve Kean of all people as replacement. They thought owning an English football club was "easy" (no relegation), good for expanding their brand to a new audience and make a couple of high-profile signings to boost revenue. Scummy advisors and agents operating behind the scenes (SEM/Kentaro/Jerome Anderson etc.) were rubbing their hands at the prospect of using the club for their own ends, banking ridiculous agent fees for mediocre/ low level players coming in. It's fair to say that Venky's didn't do their due dilligence before buying the club and they don't really have any business operating within the football world if they don't have any knowledge of it. It's their fault entirely that they've made such a big loss over the past 15 years and the refusal to own up to it and just sell is only going to make it worse.
  18. It's obviously never going to happen but Im not so sure, the powers that be seemed remarkably think skinned when there was a modest amount of publicity around asking the (then) 3 stooges to stay away from matches.
  19. He sets us up to compete for 50-60mins, but his inability to react to anything tactically is becoming more apparent. He his often out thought in every game by often proper old-school managers. We don't do "normal" footballing things, don't seem to get the basics right. We're a poor side full of inexperience, but he's not helping by making some mystifying decisions. How many positions has Hedges played this season? He came on as a 10 with Kargbo up front, against Cov he was left back? It felt like last night we also played without strikers for a short whilst it was 1-1.
  20. We'll never know as Travis wasn't the one who stayed. If he had however and Tronstad had left I dont think we'd have been quite as easy to beat or prone to collapsing if we went a goal down or after 60 mins.
  21. See people keep saying that but it's more pointless than a boycott. And less chance of happening, we are already halfway to a real boycott this season if you ignore the crowd figure and look at the stands.
  22. The coalition have been planning a protest for that game, from what I’ve heard. . These ideas on top, will hopefully mean it’s given some real impetus.
  23. What's happened to Tyjon after all the hype about him before the season started?
  24. Rev, I wasn't really interested in the relative abilities of Trav v Tron. My point was that the poor pass Tron played last night is indicative of his mood (not his ability) and a perfect metaphor for the shambles that is VI's management and the nonsense occurring above him. For even more clarity:- We both agree on the centrality of Trav. We will never agree on the ability of Tron. And on your point about Tron looking average now Trav has left is a weak argument. As you know well I'm sure, playing is about partnerships. They complemented each other well. Imagine if Trav had remained here (with all the cack going on around him) and Tron gone -I suspect Trav's body language would have been poor given all the nonsense going on and playing alongside what we have now.
  25. Two ideas I've seen mentioned that I like are everyone dressing in black to symbolise the death of Blackburn Rovers and the red cards. The black clothing would be very effective as a one off if enough people did it and the media could be tipped off to attend in advance. I've stopped going until there's any sign of improvement but Id happily don my funeral suit and go down for that. The red cards, well once they've been handed out, no-one can stop you bringing them into a ground and they can be used again and again, no limit to that. Also the 135/15 idea is a very powerful message, needs to be plenty done themed around that I feel.
