  1. Past hour
  2. every signing we make under this lot is a gamble,we don`t know if they are going to be any good because i doubt the scouting staff do either,we appear to be blind betting imo
  3. Hes not actually been capped I dont think. On Buckley, I always felt like it was a bit of interesting man management by Eustace to make him vice captain. When he was captain it was often for the second string in cup games. Maybe he was trying to get more out of him.
  4. Now Mr Thumbs down if i said that about Coventry and Ipswich a few years ago you'd have had the same reaction.
  5. Forshaw was actually pretty decent in the last third of the season. Getting on a bit though, and I wonder if we lost the legs of Tronstad or Travis Forshaws age and lack of pace would be brutally exposed?
  6. Just my opinion based on the loan spells he's had last season. Neither of those loans could really be viewed as a success, if we are being honest. For what it's worth (which isn't much), I wouldn't have an issue with him sticking around and seeing if he's up to it this season. I think he's contracted until 2027, so still in the clubs hands. I think the club will look to loan him again though
  7. That’s like playing for Treasure Island.
  8. The Human Beinz - Nobody But Me A garage band classic,
  9. he could`nt get a game for two sides that were near the bottom of the lower divisions, thats a kind of a big indication he is`nt good enough for the championship,a shame because when he first broke into our first team he was raw but looked a decent prospect, funny game football, sometimes a player will kick on other times they regress badly
  10. Both those managers got fired, right?
  11. Unfortunately, I don't think they are.
  12. He needs a loan where he actually gets some games but that seems hard to come by perhaps he should go to Barrow !
  13. Buckley is a good technical player who has never figured out how to impose himself on a game. A real shame as talent wise hes got the ingredients but so easily gets passed by. Three Rovers managers and one at Sheffield Weds now have just not trusted him which speaks volumes. Eustace made him deputy captain to try and show faith but he had probably his worst season for us last year. Theres no real reason to think he can turn it around which is sad to say.
  14. Today
  15. Because he wasn’t good enough for Tranmere
  16. I dont think Buckley is even a good squad player. If a first teamer is unavailable, you dont feel comfortable with him (or Forshaw) coming in.
  17. I think Garrett and Buckley are done here. I'd throw JRC in as well but his versatility might just keep him about for a body in the squad.
  18. Buckley has had too many chances. He knows what VI expects and if he can get that intensity over pre season he could be a useful player. Even Cantwells work ethic upped a gear towards the end under VI. Sadly even then he won’t break the starting 11 and it’s down to him if he wants to be backup. Rovers better off trying to get a fee
  19. Bessie Smith - Tain’t Nobody’s Bizness If I Do
  20. Here we go, the perennial 'Buckley has something, if he could just....) He never 'just' though does he that's why he's never even become a first team regular here under 3 different head coaches. Yes he is good back up but i doubt he wants to be 3rd or 4th choice and that doesn't help his attitude imo. If he's happy to do that and try and force his way in fair enough but it's old hat now and probably best to part ways if we could squeeze a fee out of someone. A fit and firing Buckley is an asset to the squad but a going through the motions one isn't, mind you if his contract is running down maybe there's a tune to be had out of him yet.
  21. When Buckley first broke through I thought "God he's a poor athlete, but there's a football player in there". Sadly he's never pushed on - unfortunately I don't think he's professional enough. JRC is in a similar boat - poor athlete, good football player. He is professional enough, but unfortunately his body has let him down. A ruthless manager / ambitious club would push them both out the door this summer. Especially if we want to employ a high tempo / high press.
  22. On a tangent, surely any of: Buckley, JRC or Garrett would be a better option than Foreshaw? Talk of bombing one of those out for a 33 year old is ludicrous.. For what it's worth I used to hate Buckley, however last season in the couple of cameos he had I thought he looked okay, carried it, can ping a pass and likes a tackle.. Much rather keep Buckley than Foreshaw.
  23. Classic Rovers fan mentality root around and pick ONE game from ages ago to form your own narrative. Nobody said he's a hard man but he's competitive it makes up about 75% of his game and to be fair he wasn't in good form at that point and struggled with the then head coaches style most of the season after a promising start. Don't think he downed tools but he did let his head go down and deserved a bit of stick however he's made up for it since and we were set up wrong in that first half anyway it wasn't all down to him most of em were shite.
  24. I would imagine AI is a tool being used to identify targets.
