Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
roversfan99 replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Most of them chances were just half chances though. The Gudjohnsen one and the Kargbo ones I would say are the good chances that carried a reasonable expectation of a goal. We created more than we usually do though but certainly our total absence of players that are naturals in front of goal has and will continue to cause us frustration. -

I said could/should First half Hedges and Cantwell both had good chances from the left side of the area, and Gudjonson cocked up. Second half Kargbo could have had 3,Cantwell again shot weakly from a good position, and Ohashi had a great chance through the middle but didn't shoot and got tackled. That's just the good chances from memory, there could be more. -

Thats a bit of an exaggeration. I suppose we could literally in that we had more than 5 or 6 chances. But how many were what you would consider to be big chances? Gudjohnsen and Kargbo aside, mainly half chances. -

Aye, not difficult to see where the problem was against Stoke, thought some of the build up play was really encouraging. -

I want a brass band before the game and a man asleep in his seat on the Blackburn end 😆 -
bet we aren't. UEFA will stop this. Their president Aleksander Čeferin is furious about this.

UEFA have "reluctantly" agreed to having a Spanish and Italian match abroad. England will be next.

Ange isn't playing the type of football he was at Spurs. He has played differently, less attacking.. Forest squad is different but I also think signing players McAtee and Hutchinson suggest a different style of play was coming before Nuno sacking. I think Forest were wrong to sack Nuno but when Nuno voiced his complaints in public, it was only ever going to land with him getting sacked. but its seems from what I read around it all, that its seems to be failure from minute 1 after the appointment. Ten Hag doesn't seem fit what they wanted but also he wasn't happy who left and who was signed by them

nothing more to add to my original point. I think Rangers need one of their own in there and reshaping the club. It will take time and that what they need. No quick fix to this problems there

Was this in response to a question about Tavares or more general about the new signings? also who asked the question EJ/LET don’t have direct access anymore… -
Yeah, why do people even look at jobs a manager has done previously. Just get a legend from his playing days in. We should get Dunn as manager. Still dont get why the job is ideal for Ferguson or why him being a good player for them is a reason to get him as manager.
-
I wouldn't be too worried about cv's and that's. Sometime a job is ideal for that person.

I was sure Edu rang a bell in a Rovers context, and it transpired he scored an own goal whilst playing us once, back in the league in 02-03. We were the only team to do the league double over Arsenal that year. Imagine such a world 🙃

Ange Postecoglou talked about his footballing philosophy in this interview that I found pretty quickly; Big Ange's football philosophy I'd say it can be summarised by this quote from it; "Winning 4-3 is more exciting than winning 1-0. The more goals we score the happier I am about the football we’re playing". Nuno's Forest last season were the absolute opposite of that. They were happy ceding 80% possession and hitting teams on the break. I watched enough Spurs games with Ange in charge to know that 5-4-1 wasn't his preferred method. He has to play that way presently as his Forest players aren't set up to play his devil may care brand of attacking football. So far though he hasn't been able to shape what he has at his disposal into a cohesive group. You are correct that Nuno left because he could not work with Edu but that has nothing to do with how Postecoglou sees football. Any sensible new manager decision should have been made knowing that the current Forest squad is used to a type of football far removed from what Ange plays. Chris Wood cannot do what Solanke and Son did. Nuno put Forest on the spot so they hired someone quickly who was out of work and had Prem experience. Not the ideal way to guarantee continuity. As to ten Hag. Leverkusen did lose players, and brought in new ones; what teams didn't? However, as the BBC noted here; ten Hag sacked Leverksuen made a strategic decision. "Nobody wanted to take this step," Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes told the club website”. "However, the past few weeks have shown that building a new and successful team with this set-up is not feasible." "A parting of ways at this early stage of the season is painful, but we felt it was necessary," added Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro. Ruthless yet it's looking like the correct decision.

Further to this point, the players that have played in the actual league match will have to go out and do a cool down that I would expect to take no less than 20 minutes. So in reality it's going to be an hour and a half before the other game could kick off. Everything about this is just so comically shit. I love it. -
i had`nt thought of the sectarianism, hard to believe that b*****s is still virilant up there
-
As he was injured he didn’t go out on loan. Meaning he’s still here. And last week the Rovers website , when stating Baradji was a “longer term” absentee stated that the under 21 game on Friday would come “too soon” for Carter and Garrett.

Risky business hiring Ulstermen at Rangers. They'll have to find out which school he went to and everything. I honestly wish I was joking.
-
And to think after the home defeat to League 1 Bradford, we had one or two saying how we had likely found an upgrade on Travis.
-
But equally, it wouldnt logically lead you to then giving him the job, especially considering his overall CV, and especially when it is such a big job that surely requires more managerial expertise. Still unclear why being a club legend should be a deciding factor.
