Yes i'm all for protecting the assets but they jumped the gun there based more on the hype than anything, he obviously looked good in training but had about half a dozen good first team performances to his name. Can only assume it was on modest money and that's why he's still here.

He did play at Accrington for 45 minutes in pre season and went off injured (I saw him post match in a protective boot - really over the top). He scored in the first game against Derby after coming on as a substitute and started against Stockport scoring twice. In both appearances he was the fully committed player he always was. To compare him to Gestede is totally unfair in my view.

Think it was utter lunacy to hand him that contract - his form and abilities never warranted it. Plymouth have appointed Tom Cleverley. Their fans seem overall extremely happy with the appointment. Seems like a good opportunity for Cleverley to prove himself, and potentially get back into the Championship as a manager.
