  1. Past hour
  2. Don't mind Forshaw if we need to shore up and see a game out. Thought he did that well last season, the fitter he got. Luton away springs to mind.
  3. It could count as transfer news, as he transferred hair from another part of his body.
  4. definately agree on that ,though if you don`t invest in the playing staff you tend to find yourself relegated
  5. They've managed to avoid replacing any of Waggott, David Lowe, Keith Downing, Arnor Sigurdsson, or indeed most of the other departures in recent months, so if they can manage with not replacing Dolan they will be quite happy. Remember the priority here isn't on replacing people or getting better, it is about cutting costs and doing the bare minimum required to sustain the operation and minimal cost and expense. If they think they can manage it by not signing anyone, or by bringing in a low cost loan or short term signing, that's where they will look. I'm still convinced that Waggott's removal was cost cutting and they will only 'replace' him with a nonentity box ticker if the rigours of compliance with the rules and regulations get too much and they need someone to front it up and provide a facade whilst dealing with the formalities.
  6. Maybe we were hedging his potential compensation figure for his replacement and now that's not come about, we're snookered.
  7. Looks like Rudy picked up a thing or two whilst shadowing Waggott.
  8. I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing, probably the opposite, signings have generally come out of the blue.
  9. I think Iโ€™ve worked out where heโ€™s got the figure fromโ€ฆ 90,000 euros (not pounds) per year is the figure set by UEFA* The per year is not the length of contract at the new club itโ€™s the time spent at the former club between the ages of 12 and 21. The above isnโ€™t payable for Dolan as he is too old (turned 23 four days too soon) under the relevant FIFA regulation. *This is for clubs deemed by UEFA to be โ€˜category 1โ€™ - lower category = lower compensation. edited to add link (first table in document): https://digitalhub.fifa.com/m/4c9ae72afc774ad8/original/Circular-1936_RSTP-categorisation-of-clubs-and-registration-periods_EN.pdf
  10. Exactly. Watching England is the pinnacle foe me.
  11. just another **** up in a long 15 years of **** ups,if we knew he was`nt signing then he should have been made available for transfer,we`de have made more than the measly compensation we are getting,i`ve lost count of the number of players who have left for nothing
  12. I think they plan on taking the Ledley King approachโ€ฆ
  13. Honestly mental, surely it's the first signing they should have made?
  14. I can't believe (well I can but it's a bit of a disgrace) we dont appear to have an oven ready replacement for Dolan lined up. We must have known he'd be going for months.
  15. Someone needs to ask him where heโ€™s got this from.
  16. Elliot seems to think it's 90k per years contract signed at his new club, no idea if thats been verified though.
  17. Today
  18. Had a stress fracture in my left foot about 5 years ago. Misdiagnosed at first - encouraged to keep doing everything i normally do during the 2 months it took for me to figure out that they were wrong. That included a lot of walking, golfing, badminton and so on including the 6 flights of stairs required to exit or enter our home. Most of the time - it was an annoyance that could be managed with pain meds. Without warning it could then become so excruciatingly painful that i couldn't get up or down the stairs or walk the 100 yards from the office to my car. That would last a few days until suddenly after 2 months it went to shit and i couldn't put any weight on it at all. Still bothered by pain from it 5 years later despite it having "healed" completely although i am told this is most likely to nerve/tissue damage around the fracture which would have been exacerbated by continuing "as normal". In terms of what it meant at the time: rest for 6-8 weeks and i am not a footballer. Imagine he would be unavailable for 8-12 weeks if it did become problematic (including 3-4 weeks to get back up to "match fitness") Cynical head on: given the number of crocks we have signed during the years either we have changed the medical setup or this is merely an excuse to get out of paying a lump sum up front for a player we want (with or without said injury)
  19. he can`t be that injured seeing as he played yesterday, bet we are trying to get him for a knockdown fee
  20. I find the whole Baradji situation very odd. Even on a pay as you play it seems like a high risk move, for a team who can ill afford to be making high risk moves. The player himself must be desperate to come, the Swiss super league is a very poor standard, the challenge league is probably league 2 standard at best, maybe worse. He cannot be getting paid very well at all there although he must be one of the higher paid players. So who is it at the club that thinks this lad is worth taking risks for? Hard to believe VI is an admirer, is it Rudy who's wanting to get it over the line?
  21. I donโ€™t think youโ€™re wrong.
  22. This meanwhile is more great journalism by Jackson: "Concerns with certain parts of a medical can always flag concerns"
  23. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-rovers-trying-to-sign-moussa-baradji-on-special-contract/ This suggests that Baradji may need time away to get his injury fixed. If so, then it would be ridiculous to still proceed with the deal considering we are only signing 2 or 3 more.
  24. The importance of a good pre season, especially for the older players canโ€™t be overstated. Forshaw on signing up was bigging that up and now looks like he is bloody injured before a kicking a ball in anger ๐Ÿ˜ก
  25. gone very quiet, even the obvious fantasy links are missing๐Ÿ˜’i sincerely hope this is`nt the end of our transfer dealings
  26. Hmmm.......I think the only thing EVERYONE agrees on is we need a new RW. For me after that I think one striker is desperately needed, ideally two. Cover/competition anywhere else would be nice. And that's always assuming no-one leaves as FB would say. I dont think Brittain will stay personally.
