  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah I was thinking at least 7. Same again, please.
  3. Wouldn't even mind a dodgy decision or two going our way. The crying online from other nations about the length of injury time and the penalty were great fun other night. Particularly odd as I thought 7 mins was fairly conservative considering what had gone before.
  4. No.4 and 8 were midfielders not holding not box to box, just midfielders. They were expected to do it all. When one attacked the other held or vice versa. Although at Liverpool, Stevie Nicol usually wore 4 and he was a right back
  5. De Neve and Kargbo on left. Hedges and new signing on right.
  6. De Neve, because Dolan has left and they have had to put Hedges on the other side.
  7. Never heard of this club nor city if i'm being honest and it seems they've had an interesting time over the last decade. A ground a bit bigger than Ewood, a city with 100k more people and a similar crowd trajectory to us, wonder if they get the same stick !
  8. While obviously not to the same degree, they're developing somewhat of the Real Madrid "we always win" reputation. Spain could well scupper us but I'd enjoy nothing more than a drab performance and stolen win on Sunday.
  9. I want them in blue and white. For me this is revenge for England v spain, I am a local to elche, so this game means so much more!
  10. Boarding the plane at Gatwick now, il be at the match tomorrow pissed out of my underpants. Coyb!!!
  11. This isnโ€™t about tradition - you listen and watch the experts talk about the 6 role the 8 role pivots etc itโ€™s now deemed a defensive midfielder yes sorry heโ€™s a natural midfielder who can play right back like jrc
  12. I'm pretty confident that they will all be back up's, as all our other signings have been. Then those back up's will become starters next season when another load of players leave for nothing, rinse and repeat. We don't improve the first 11 here, not a priority.
  13. Today
  14. If you're not interested why post except to annoy others who are? Go away
  15. The numbers have changed. Depends when you started watching football which you prefer. Monty is a CM.
  16. Number 6 (and 5) traditionally are centre backs. 4 is holding midfield. Isnt Montgomery a natural central midfielder rather than a right back?
  17. No doubt. Being player of the season for a Champo team at 19 is no small deal, especially in that position. You guys will have your opinions (I didnโ€™t realise there was ill-feeling to be honest) but Iโ€™d say heโ€™s well ahead of your typical trajectory for a CB
  18. He's very clearly not a RB - you can see that from watching him for 20 minutes. Can he play there? Yes, in the same way Travis can play there.
  19. There's literally no reason why Tyjon or Higgins won't do the same. Why would they sign on here when apparently signing for Arsenal et al and being loaned out for 3 years is much more preferable.
  20. modern day jargon or not a number 6 in todayโ€™s game isnโ€™t necessarily a centre back Iโ€™d say itโ€™s best described as a holding midfielder they havenโ€™t ruled out playing him in his natural position - right back so he can be an option as holding mid or a right back if/when required
  21. We learned it at the time (well, via rumour). Yes we would have been entitled to compo anyway, but not as good as we got (2.5 million with as much again in potential add ons I believe...I think we would have got about 1 mill without). It was frustrating, but it's better than how Finneran did us. What matters is we don't let it happen again with Tyjon and Higgins.
  22. We aren't really considering signing Trons Dad surely. Mind you, this is Venky world we operate in, so i wouldn't be surprised.๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. Going to Spurs made him go from 5th choice to 6th or 7th. But he was close enough to our first team for us not to be able to consider loaning him out, even if he had been on a long deal. You can fall beneath the cracks then, often an unused sub or going back to the under 21s. At Spurs, he isnt needed in the first team so theyve been able to choose really well selected loan moves whereby he hasnt had to go below the Championship but hes also managed to playe every week. RevidgeBlue has a real unhealthy disdain towards Broughton but ultimately especially with the lack of protection offered to clubs regarding youngsters (something we have taken advantage of with Tyjon and others) he was fairly powerless.
  24. Thatโ€™s good because we havenโ€™t got any.
  25. That LT piece does seem to just be an attempt to cobble together an update partly based on assumptions. The Montgomery bit is strange journalism. For a start, a number 6 is a centre back. Dont let the modern day jargon fool you. But they havent "ruled out" playing him in his natural position? I would be very surprised if the Badarji deal happens now. Surely there are alternatives on a list that are actually fit should that be a profile of player that we desperately want? Right wing is the obvious main weakness at the moment. A right footed centre back, again yes we need. A number 10 as to not over burden Tyjon would certainly be something I agree with and if its something we do, chaddy will be fuming. Striker has slipped off the list, concern is still not even about the fact that I dont think that Gueye is good enough, which I dont, but moreso when Ohashi tires/is injured, we dont have a like for like replacement that can slot into the side without a change of tactic. Hopefully we can get a winger in as a minimum before the NEC game next week.
