  1. Past hour
  2. Yes but we don't have any assets left to sell so now we're back in the territory of them having to plough in money just to keep the lights on. I agree they don't care about the fans which is exactly why protests don't and won't work. Squeezing them financially is the only thing that will. The days of protests working are long gone with many clubs having absent foreign owners who don't have any association with the area.
  3. Maybe at one time, maybe 7 or 8 years ago, but they're concerned enough about us financially now to cut costs to the absolute bone so it must be having an impact on them or registering somehow.
  4. They’d still go nowhere in such an eventuality. They’d just mothball the stands and close Brockhall and the Academy
  5. There will be talented guys in the lower Leagues about who are on the up and would still see us as a decent opportunity. Whether of course we could identify such a candidate is of course a completely different matter. We need a new Ken Furphy and to get rid of the 2 stooges.
  6. Different kettle of fish, direct, physical, wont be as open. Will play off Keiffer Moore and swing high balls in around Pears. Midfield much stronger than ours. Have found their feet at this level. Take a point now.
  7. Probably not. We've been written off in their eyes, consigned to the metaphorical bottom drawer to be forgotten about in the hope that one day we might come good. I can't any catalyst for them selling - at least not financial. In the grand scheme of their multi billions, we're a little blip on the balance sheet
  8. I actually thought Ismael had thrown the towel in and made those changes with one eye on Saturday. It wasn't tactical and certainly wasn't done to strengthen us likewise the double change later.
  9. Whoever they appointed would probably be at least as bad because nobody decent would want to come. VI probably only came because of the three and a half year contract and he just wanted a job.
  10. Running out of assets to sell. Hypothetically, although it would never happen, if NO-ONE turned up they'd have to sell wouldn't they?
  11. Wednesday will win nailed on. The beginning of a death spiral into L1. The owners and their quislings don't give a f**k. Just sell a few more of what little quality there is left. And then the quislings blame the fans for not turning up - to watch a team that will have won only about 4 home matches in the calendar year.
  12. Why should an empty stadium bother them, or for the matter declining income? Their solution as always is to sell another asset. The fans mean nothing to the owners - as we know.
  13. I noticed the Liverpool fans were howling last night, at a packed Angield.
  14. I don't think there was any better way of telling QPR "we're done, go for it". Appreciate we don't have much squad depth, but at least stagger the subs if they're going to be such poor quality. Try to keep the better players on for a bit longer.
  15. Respectfully disagree again. Empty stadiums and silent protests are absolutely the way forward when you have foreign owners. Venky's don't care if people have banners in the ground or protests marches outside, they're in their ivory towers in India - and the club just dismiss it as the minority anyway. However, they can't dismiss an empty stadium and dwindling match day income as just a minority. That hits Venky's in the pocket (with no assets left to sell to cover those losses), which is the only thing they care about. Venky's want the club to be self-sufficient and that's why we get rid of our high earners and buy 'assets' that can be sold for a profit (although they'll be in for a surprise if they think they can make a profit on the players signed in the summer).
  16. I cannot talk for the rest of the fan base, but I cannot emphasise enough my personal horror at losing Tronstad before the game. Added to Wharton, Carter, Cantwell and Toth all of whom make up the starting 11 left me completely deflated even before a ball was kicked, I admit it. Then the game kicked off and nothing I witnessed cheered me up in the slightest, intact it made me realise how grim things are going to be.
  17. I think that's harsh. I would never criticise anyone for exercising their freedom of choice and continuing to support the Club that was around for 135 years before Venky's and their assorted stooges turned up. Whatever happens, it's not their fault. They deserve much much better.
  18. I can't believe how naive De Neve was for the QPR goal. He was nowhere near Smith (who is about 5'6") and allowed him a free header. Miller was poor too in this but De Neve's error was schoolboy at best. Basic stuff as he showed a real lack of awareness.
  19. That hoary old chestnut "who could we possibly get in that's better than him?" raises its' ugly head yet again and it's no more compelling an argument than it ever was in the past. For me it's quite simple. If a manager clearly isnt working out, he has to go - at least at a normal Club. I liken it to a situation with a broken light bulb, you can come in every day hoping that bulb will suddenly start to work, but it won't. The only alternative is to change the bulb and hope that the new one doesn't go wrong before you expected. We had this for years when Mowbray was here, "Who could we possibly get in better than him? Errr......predictably as it turned out, the next two guys who came in immediately after him and with Gary Bowyer after which I think most people would say Lambert was an upgrade. I didn't want VI when he was appointed and I think we're going down if he stays. For me he has no appealing features whatsoever and at a normal Club I think the powers that be would be rolling the dice and taking a chance on someone else. Unfortunately we know we're not a normal Club and we know results on the pitch are secondary to cutting costs so I suppose he'll be completely safe for the foreseeable. Maybe a token gesture will be made to replace him when it's too late to try and deflect some blame away from the 2 stooges. Happy Days.
  20. I really don’t care what anyone thinks about people who bought season tickets. I certainly don’t want anyone feeling sorry for me. I’m a grown up and make my own decisions what to spend my money on. As for attending games, yes it can be a chore (me and my son got home around midnight due to the M62 being closed) but I do it because I enjoy watching football and supporting Rovers. It’s a pity that Venkys and their management can’t realise that filling the squad with below average players and playing them in preference to the likes of experienced players e.g. Ribeiro and Pickering will only end one way.
  21. No, I have lost almost all interest. I have gone from being a season ticket holder who went to most away games. To attending the occasional home game, mainly for the social life before and after the game.
  22. Subbing Forshaw, Gueye and De Neve on all at once last night was ludicrous. He turned a poor show into a shit show.
  23. Is the suggestion that in previous seasons the home atmosphere has been so electric that it's been the reason why our home record has generally been decent? That this season is so much worse in terms of atmosphere that it's having a negative impact on performance? Feels like a stretch. Most likely it's just that we have players better suited to counter attacking football, who are not talented enough to adapt to teams sitting back and playing on the break themselves because they are mostly cheap imports.
