What's led to the likelihood of a 'poorer league position than last season' is more down to replacing decent players with crap ones, and a decent manager with a crap one.

Season tickets to bring a mate for a tenner is never a deal that is particularly successful. Cut the strings and at least just make it a tenner, full stop. No hoops to jump through.

You keep mentioning how the "overhaul" of the squad was likely to lead to a lower finish. Just to clarify, thats not you hanging on to an idea that we are at the start of some sort of positive project, but because the squad is far worse and contains huge holes in quality and depth? Did you watch the game or is this based on the opinions of BBC Radio Lancashire commentators?

They are trying to head off a turnout of about 6k i don't reckon there's much else behind it other than as pointed out above an opportunity to spin ST benefits.

How does that benefit the ST Holder particularly?

I imagine it’s so it can be sold as a benefit to season ticket holders to try & prevent accusations of undermining the value of buying a season ticket.

Sat back but looked comfortable in doing so but for the free kick. It was a strange moment and a feeling of "they're gonna score now" and there we have it. Was it a free kick... one that probably not been given had it been mid game but as it was the end , controversial decisions are made and that was one. Personally I thought the wrexham lad got out muscled, on another angle Hedges perhaps should of laid off a little given the stage of the game.

From memory I did it for my cousin the other season, may do it again (doubt he’ll be interested this season though). End of the day why pick a midweek in December when obviously it’s very difficult to attract a floating fan, why should the stipulation/onus be on being asked by/asking a ST Holder? We’ve 20,000 empty seats. Pointless hoops.

The coaching staff can only do so much. Once the players cross over the white line there’s not much you can do. Do you think Big Sam had coached Matt Derbyshire to pass the ball back into midfield instead of taking it into the corner flag in the famous game against City ? Tired players sometimes make bad decisions. Hedges doesn’t always play 90 minutes for a reason

It begs the question, "Why couldn't it have been Rovers laying siege to the Wrexham goal at the death, and snatching a second goal (or at least creating more chances?" - that, dear friends is 100% game management, an art that seems to be missing from the Coaching 101 manual apparently thumbed by Ismael and his bumbling technical team. The management should wear clown pants.

Valerian Ismael is a terrible terrible manager. It's a shame it seems as though our local journalists have been told they can't ask tough questions or they'll lose access. It really is a sad state of affairs.

I didn’t see the game just the highlights. We were picking up a relative from the USA at Manchester airport. I texted my son who had watched the game later. I value his opinion. He always calls it like it is, he takes his blue and white glasses off at KO time. This is his text - “ I thought we played well. Sat back a bit much at the end, inviting them on. The free kick that led to the goal was bollocks “.

Yeah, I agree. The ref awarded a free kick, he didn’t award a goal. The ball is there to be defended. Having said that Moore is a handful in the air. Knowing that we should have had a player around the penalty spot for that eventually. We all got drawn into the scrum and they didn’t.

You can argue whether Hedges' contact was enough to cause the player to go over or a foul to be given. The bigger question for me is why did he give the ref/lino a decision to make in the first place? He could have just come around the Wrexham player and shielded the ball from going into the area. Or took a tackling position from a more sideways position. He had time. He didn't need to go into the back of the bloke. As one of the most experienced players in the squad he should have made a better decision.

Isn't it potentially something like 9 points? If they were to go on a good run of form and finish 3rd or 4th then they could still possibly keep their playoff place even with the points taken away. I think automatics are extremely unlikely, but playoffs could still happen in theory. They'd need a really quick turnaround in form though, pretty much immediately, and sustain it for most of the rest of the season.

Given the point deduction they get I dont promotion will be likely.. I look at strikers and they dont say goalscorers. Wingers and Reid are very good players plus Jordan James. I think they should back him. I guess any decisions will be left until the new Sporting director/technical director is appoint
