  1. Past hour
  2. There is your right my point was he would/should have known this before taking the job….as stated it is all for there to see and played out publicly by JDT
  3. Every time I see this topic as a "red hot thread" I think we've signed someone πŸ˜ͺ
  4. You don't give up a secure job when sat in the top 6 in February, in with a shot of becoming a Premier League manager, and gamble your career and reputation on an uphill struggle to avoid League One at skint Derby unless you are desperate to get away. Somehow I don't believe that the hours drive it saved was the crucial factor. Something deeply, deeply wrong behind the scenes and has been for a while and 'alignment' isn't the word for it Funny how travel keeps cropping up here as a reason for people leaving. Convenient because location is one thing the wretches cannot affect or control yet doesn't appear to be the issue at any other North West club. They make out like we are Plymouth, Norwich or some other distant backwater.
  5. still concentrating on the lower intestines of european football,no doubt there will be links to someone this week
  6. Got to be honest... If we were looking to spunk 8 million on a striker from the MLS I'd be pretty concerned to be honest. It just simply doesn't look like sensible business. Whilst I'd like Rovers to be showing more ambition I certainly wouldn't want them to be gambling big money on unproven players from shite leagues. Picking up players for 2-3 million I would argue is the way most championship clubs should be operating, with the exception of yoyo clubs. How many players are you going to sign in the championship that you can sell for massive money? Not many. If they sign this guy for 8 million what are the chances they could sell him for double? Not great IMO.
  7. Aligned for now yes but lets not forget he was on the scrapheap for 12 months so he'll be aligned to the wage more than anything. I'm sure he'll be delighted if we are in 4th place in January and he gets a loan from Sunderland reserves and a 500k kid to develop from Southampton.
  8. So a well respected journalist had information that wasnt reported anywhere else and instead of publishing a story, he told you?
  9. Not sure man who responded read the most important bit of my post these managers know what their are getting into at rovers….so Iv little sympathy for any of them
  10. So have we had any more links to players or are we now just debating Eustace and Derby again?
  11. And if the coach is asking for players that the club says they can't afford, and swaps the play offs for a relegation battle, has he engineered a move? I'm guessing the truth lies somewhere in between, and highlights my initial post. Gestede and Ismael being aligned on transfers is the most important thing for Rovers this summer.
  12. Seemingly Derby are preparing to spend big on a striker. Meanwhile Our DOF has proudly delivered the inspiring message that the days of us parting with a large fee for a player are over. I'd suggest that has a bit more to do with it than the respective distances from his doorstep.
  13. The Plymouth one is not bullsh1t! I posted about it before when all the stuff was going on about Eustace. I am not going to name the respected journalist who told me this but if you knew his identity then you would not be so dismissive. By the way, did you ever track down Dyche in La Manga where you claimed him to be at the same time he passed me by in Brockhall!?!?
  14. mowbray was happy to do that,he`d probably still be here if the chicken killers had offered him a new contract, any manager with any ambition, they are out of brockhall pretty sharpish when the truth of the scenario reveals itself,i expect val to do the same,he does`nt appear to be someone who will work with idiots
  15. Chansiri is at least prepared to engage with the Press and Supporter groups...what the feck have we got other than complete silence?
  16. Bullshit and you know it is πŸ˜‰ He never applied for the Preston Job either, more nonsence.
  17. I wonder how far away we are from this? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jun/28/sheffield-wednesday-financial-crisis-football-championship-dejphon-chansiri
  18. Yep it wasn't the fans or lack of them, it wasn't to be closer to home although no doubt that was a handy bonus, it wasn't the group of players they loved him and he loved them. So i wonder what it was ?
  19. Today
  20. So if the club said we are aligned with your ambitions and within reason we will provide the backing trying to achieve those ambitions then they didn't, there were basically lied to.
  21. Shows how intolerable it must have been working for the 3 stooges. What manager worth his salt would actually want to bob along indefinitely, never aiming for or achieving any success, but maybe developing and selling on a player or two if we're lucky?
  22. I am told he even applied for the Plymouth job when Rooney left - if correct, and the source is a respected journalist, that does not align to moving for family reasons!
  23. Eustace came out within days of moving there seeing that it had been claimed that he moved for those reasons, and that it wasn't true.
  24. I know we get the "it's not 1995 anymore" jibes thrown our way occasionally by opposing fans, the rather strange section of our support who are still supportive of Venky's or Tony Mowbray, but I disagree strongly we should play down the Jack Walker era. With all due respect to winning the League in 1911 and 1913 the 1995 Title win is probably the jewel in the crown of our illustrious history and should be celebrated as such. That said, we all know that the Footballing Authorities have shifted the goalposts since Jack's time in order to preserve the status quo for the biggest Clubs and prevent smaller ones from realistically competing for the top honours but with astute management and proper support from fully invested owners there is no real reason why we couldn't one day be a well run Premier League Club along the lines of Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham etc. Whilst we had a financial advantage for a short time back in Jack's day, that was no absolute guarantee of success, he could quite easily have chucked a load of money at it and not got anywhere. It was all about getting the right people in on and off the pitch and creating the right environment for them to succeed. Financial advantage or not, what he achieved was phenomenal and is something to be celebrated not played down. It's a beacon of hope to the sorts of things that can actually be achieved if you get things right.
  25. The halved sleeves can be changed every now and again no bother but if the halves are not reversed on the back then it isn't a Rovers shirt.
  26. Well not Eustace he wanted to move closer to his family by all accounts. That’s what he has said in all his interviews Iv stated many times on this forum if your taking the rovers job you should have done your research……..the transfer failings / the excuses / the lies / the finances is all there in the public eye and even for a month JDT played it out publicly. So knowing this information and taking the rovers job that’s on them (lies should never be told but it happens often)
  27. That still doesn't change the fact that it's a load of shit. American sports are a complete pile of wank and their coverage of them is even worse. Won't be long until we get the five minutes multiball.
