  1. Past hour
  2. I am led to believe that an approach was made to buy Rovers last year. Pasha said not for sale. It didn't go any further. He is the blocker keeping his cushy number with no scrutiny. That is why he actively prevents direct communication with the Owners. We need to shift him. Financially is the only way to do it.
  3. It’s nowhere near the standard of last seasons squad and the manager isn’t good enough
  4. Maybe a bit of an overexaggeration but was it just the existing squad we have now plus Cleary? Bit optimistic to think the addition of one player is going to shoot us up the table. We have a terrible Head Coach however.
  5. Makhtar scored on his debut granted it was a friendly.. just needed service and confidence!
  6. The following is rumour and speculation so we can't say for sure either way. For discussion purposes though: According to a poster over the road, somebody made an approach to buy Rovers as recently as October 2025. The rumour goes on to add that the enquiry was refused by the owners via their conduit. How true this is, I don't know. Maybe somebody with sources could look into this? I know two posters on here have mentioned interest from two different potential investors recently. One using the word 'significant' regarding a bid. It could all just be gossip, but looking at this US/Saudi guy who is trying to buy PNE...I'm wondering out loud. Please don't tell me this guy tried to buy us, only to then turn his sights towards PNE as there was nothing doing here. I hope that's just me overthinking things. It would be a sickener if such a scenario occurred.
  7. The idea of him leaving Palace just now for a big fee is bittersweet. Good for him if he goes to play at the very top, to add to his cup winners medal. However, if we have a decent sell-on clause, I don't want the money to go to our current owners who will waste it or pocket it.
  8. You’re right. It’s a terrible one
  9. Toth Alebiosu Miller Mcloughlin Cashin Tronstad Baradji Cantwell Jorgensen Gudjohnsen Cleary Subs Pears Carter O'Riordan Pickering Forshaw Montgomery TGH Moroshita Ohashi Isn't a bad squad
  10. That would be Burnley, Bolton and Preston all with new owners in the last decade, all with smaller stadiums and (although long) less prestigious history and fewer honours than BRFC. All in the same catchment area as us. Forgotten northern mill towns, not tourist destinations or hives of commerce and enterprise. None of them are cash cows for their owners, they all cost their owners money every year, who in their right mind would want to own them? That's why we must stick with Venkys. The only owners who benevolently fund a football club which loses lots of money, there aren't any others and no one would ever buy us. Edit - if you even suggest anywhere on the internet that someone would buy us, you immediately have to provide cast iron proof that someone is interested in buying us, or you will be laughed off.
  11. ‘Err they’re a city club. We can’t expect to compete with them’.
  12. Which would need to be worth at least the 100 million or the bank wouldn’t have let them use it as security.
  13. The problem i have with that scenario is a 100 million borrowing facility would have to surely be secured against something. So they couldn't walk away without losing something unless it's secured against thousands of acres of scrubland.
  14. Arsenal must have agreed (as per EFLs youth development rules).
  15. Just listening to Radio Lancashire and Knob End issued statement saying that they are in discussions with a number of parties interested in buying the club ! Of course, Goozburger and his pals don’t believe that there is anyone out there who might fancy taking on little old Blackburn Rovers, one of the most historic and successful clubs in English football.
  16. Have you any evidence of this, or is it just your best guess?
  17. Today
  18. Assuming you're right for a moment 1) When you say they'd walk away "unscathed" are you claiming the entire amount of their "investment" in the Club consists of borrowed money from BOI ? 2) What would constitute a "favourable climate"?
  19. There’s either a reason it suits them or they are very very stupid. I guess it could be both.
  20. Problem is they haven't been bothered about losing money it's debatable that its served them some kind of purpose in their accounting process. Seems now though that they want to lose less so the model is being tailored to that and will lead to league 1 eventually as i'm sure even they know. So a lower cost lower loss future is on the cards.
  21. Possibly, I’ve no idea what sort of % a player would agree to having in his contract though.
  22. Apart from when he dropped in 'we can trade with academy players' in one of his clueless waffle interviews. Quite what he meant who knows but it suggested to me he sees them all as saleable assets before they've even been near the first team. Either way it's definitely best if he stays well away from it.
  23. Our annual wage bill at March 2025 was around £5 million more than it was in March 2017 so a reduction of £10 million would be needed to get to our last L1 wage levels. This is clearly possible, maybe even likely, given the apparent aims of Pasha etc - but last time this still lead to the £16 million pound losses I mentioned earlier. As you say, ‘savings’ would have to be made elsewhere, none of which would be anything other than detrimental to the club (and the team). Player sales may negate the need for some of these cuts but, other than Toth and Ryan, who could we realistic expect to get decent money for? However many cuts they make, they’ll still be losing money - the only way for them to stop this is to sell the club. One day I hope they’ll realise, and I hope it’s one day very very soon. Edited to add: Last time we went down match day income ‘only’ dropped by £500,000 - I suspect the drop would be far greater this time…

  26. He isn't a "youth player" if that's what you mean?, he signed a pro deal in 2024 His contract expires at the end of the season, and he is apparently not being offered a new one, so will be a free agent then. Youth trials are pretty common, its the parent club doing right by the player and trying to get them fixed up elsewhere. We did the same a couple of years ago with Tom Bloxham from Spurs in the second half of one season before signing him in the summer
  27. Kamara would be a great pick up for future. How does trial work for a player under contract at Arsenal? Is he still a youth guy or expiring?
