  1. Past hour
  2. Think it's more down to us not having the finances to green light our moves without Boro paying us for Brittain. We're in a chain.
  3. Thought this was an interesting few lines from todays LET. First time Ismael let slip the experience card. "We have no more injuries and we’re taking the positives today because we should’ve scored more goals. The second half was much better, very good.” β€œWe had more kids on the pitch in the first half so I think that made a difference,” he added. β€œWe had more experience, more pace and we knew what the opponent wanted to do so we could make the press right.
  4. I thought at times JE came across as just going through the motions without his heart being in the job but to be fair we now know he was pissed off and at odds with his bosses for months before he left. I think if you are familiar with his interviews at Brum and now Derby he sounds pretty much the same though, it's just his manner. Some come across as wooden, some are more relaxed because they've seen and done it a thousand times, i'd put VI in that category. Some light up the screen - JDT, some go off on pure waffle - TM and some are pure Starmer = Kean !
  5. A good chance two signings will be announced today. Probably waiting on Boro to confirm Brittain has completed his medical etc and then the announcement will be timed with when Boro announce Brittain to soften the blow.
  6. If he ever gets his career back on track, then I will concede that he may have figured out the do's & don'ts Until then.....
  7. Surely him having the world at his feet and now having absolutely nothing in terms of offers etc he will be able to provide knowledge i.e do's and don'ts. it's not like would be on 50k p/w he'd be on PAYP so it'll be upto him to prove it to himself.. Let's face it he's not coming anyway so it doesn't really matter. was all hypothetical like 99% of this thread.
  8. I cannot possibly see that social media rule being used in an attempt ro strong arm anyone into silence
  9. Of course there are good people working at Rovers (my own brother in law for one, who’s just left by the way as it’s a horrendously run organisation, so he’s got himself a much more stable job where he feels valued). We are talking about the regime executive leadership, obviously.
  10. He is a no brainer in a way, you’re right
  11. Invaluable to the kids? How so he got a straight red in his 9mins of football in well over a year he was given a chance and he blew it needs to get his head sorted and if he wishes to continue a career in football itl likely start lower than champ level
  12. Even if he was at 50% of what he used to have he'd still be better than some and will be invaluable to the kids coming through. pay as you play is the only way it would ever work for him at any club now.
  13. Im exactly the opposite. Thought Eustace came across as a very nice guy but not someone to cross. Can't warm to VI at all, but at the end of the day couldn't really care less about what either say. It's results on the pitch that count.
  14. It's very much a no brainer to not offer him anything. 1 game, in which he lasted just 9mins, in over 2 years. The lad clearly has issues, understandably so when you hear about his childhood but he's done. He's not regaining anything near to what he had before. He'll bounce between some obscure clubs before retiring in 2 years time. Massive shame, had the world at his feet at one point.
  15. Today
  16. We seem to produce players like this all the time. Very average. See Scott snd Hackney. They can do the basics but none of them have that game changing β€œ X β€œ factor that Wharton has.
  17. I do like VI's media persona. Never warmed to JE.
  18. Just heard on the Talksport News that Tyler Morton is going to Lyon (I think they said) for Β£15m!!!!! That's at least Β£14m more than he's worth imo. Really poor player in my book.
  19. Maybe they just meant close (in proximity) to a new contract, as Pasha had sneaked one under his mattress
  20. He looks pretty ordinary to me. Another one who can run a bit, pass the ball a bit, tackle a bit, head it a bit, have a shot from time to time, look busy. if he wasn’t English nobody would be commenting on him. Wharton is twice the player he is. Wharton can make things happen.
  21. If they never had any real intention of creating the role for which the Charity money was intended then I'd say it is a Police matter. Smacks of using the Charity money instead of their own to pay for another job entirely that they needed filling. Up to you. Sounds like exactly the sort of stroke the 2nd hand car salesman would have pulled.
  22. Don't worry. Hyam was "close" to signing a new contract at least 3 weeks ago now.......
  23. You are quite right, there are people working very hard at the club. The problem is those with most power cannot be trusted. A veiled threat was sent out recently suggesting that people will be warned and even banned if they say the wrong thing on social media. Its a case of accept what we are doing whether you like it or not, often forgetting that the fans are the lifeblood of the club. In many cases, fans who have been around for many years before them and will still be here after they have gone.
  24. I know I wonder how long it will be before Rovers renew the contracts of 3 first team players contracts in under a month again? Even 3 in a season seems fanciful
