  1. Past hour
  2. Madness to think we've signed Tavares and Henrikson and Foreshaw, is better than both of them.. Sterling recruitment! Can't wait for next season when we have a central midfield consisting of Baradji, Tavares and Henrikson.
  3. If they've got Gestede's brother in charge of transfers then their asking price will drop to £2,5m in no-time 😉
  4. I wouldn't have thought so. They have been trying Powell centrally for a while (personally think this is strange as he looks like he will be the perfect fit at wing back when he builds himself up a bit), and Dlamini is a wide player Tyjon (2) Trialist, Garrett & Powell with the goals so far 5-0 up trialist off the bench was a 19 year old winger/wide forward, Osman Kamara from Arsenal
  5. 4-0 up after an hour. "Trialist" scoring with his first touch.
  6. I thought Balaji wanted his son to run the club at some stage & if I remember correctly the son was studying over here and attending matches. Surely he should be saying "Hey Dad, those idiots you've got in charge are ruining the club and might cost you money by getting the club relegated"
  7. Another 1-1. Although not sure how are we getting our goal, probably a Hull OG.
  8. Today
  9. Heading to Liverpool it seems, reported fee £80million. 🤑
  10. There is still the odd true centre fwd knocking about, Hull have one, and the odd poacher, which is what Leonard should develop into, but really these days it's just... Left sided fwd, right sided fwd, in the middle rwd and in the hole fwd. Of course they have invented names for them but that's just the gist of it in basic terms. One day someone will go old school with 2 wingers, a centre forward and a poacher and rip a league to shreds. As it stands though the 'striker' is no more.
  11. The plan to cut costs stems from the owners. Thats the most logical conclusion. The stooges are happy to oblige.
  12. I think that is exactly how its happened although imo the real drivers of this are hiding in the middle somewhere and this plan was hatched in the later days of Mowbray, hence them letting him go rather scruffily. It nearly backfired spectacularly as JDT almost overachieved and raised the bar where they didn't want it but once he'd been reeled back in and him and GB weren't the right puppets Waggot regained control by prioritising league status over moneyball. His card was well and truly marked then though so the 'middlemen' and their man Suhail bring in Rudy to shake things up and implement a more aggressive version of what they tried before. Removing every obstacle in the way with the ownerships blessing and installing his own puppets and data driven model. And here we are.
  13. Probably not, but we're not even in the same ball park on the fee so any talk of him coming is ludicrous imo. If that changes and we land him, fair play.
  14. Perhaps you should convey that message to your glorious leader! 😂😂
  15. I've no doubt it happens, I'd very much doubt Rovers loan out even their younger players and just say do whatever you want with him, let alone one which supposedly cost £9 million.
  16. Pratt has made 10 Championship appearances for us now so could theoretically be that this triggers a pay-rise if he reaches more - don't you think? A bit odd to leave him out of the team when 'we' did.
  17. He'll increase his wages here and play a level above where he's currently playing at. Next chance might be in the summer, then there's the risk of injuries, form drop etc. If another team offers better terms, then that's probably where he'll go. As for long term, why would he care if we're just a stepping stone on his way to the Premier League. Do you think anyone will pay £5m for him this window? I can't see it happening myself, but it will probably drag out until next weekend before this one is resolved one way or the other.
  18. Sounds feasible. Still don't agree with it - you should be picked on merit alone and in the long run we're better playing Pratt. And if you're that worried about costs, wouldn't cost any loan fee at all.
  19. Pretty sure they wouldn't have at the time. They might be worrying about it by now. Of course proper owners would be ringing the stooges up about now playing holy hell because we've recently dropped into the bottom 3. Whether our lot care enough or have even noticed is of course very much up for debate.
  20. I would be very surprised if we got him as in surely other teams would be interested that said thre must be some indication from player/agent/club the deal could get done add to that whilst we are in an awful position Barnsley are 4 points from relegation to league 2 form like our own has fell off a cliff and he simply could just want out
  21. You positive bugger! 😄😉 On the boycott, I will say fair play to those that give up their time and energy to do what they believe is right. I've criticised it, but I do respect those who volunteer their own time for something they believe in. I do a bit of volunteering for perhaps lesser causes, and I know even a small amount of effort can take a lot out of you. My criticism might come across as "it's pointless", and perhaps I do feel that way, and perhaps I'll be wrong. I'd actually be glad to be wrong about it. I, like the rest of, probably hope for owners that care and are involved with the club, rather than treating us like a disowned child that needs a monthly allowance to survive (OK, that's one perspective, it could be framed differently). If everyone thinks I've done something out of turn, I won't fight it. That's what you think, and I'm not going to change anybody's mind. I might have said a few things with a dash of emotion or laziness. I don't think I'm the only one guilty of that, but I think most of us do it, and it's a silly cherry on top of our arguments or whatever. I do think because of my stance (which I would class as "on the fence, not sure, etc."), there is a tendency to view it with extra cynicism. And perhaps I do the same to you. Perhaps there's a lesson in there somewhere that, rather than "you" being at fault, or "me" being at fault, we're all a bit guilty of adding to division. On fault, though, none of us are at fault. Not those staying away. Not those attending. To blame one or the other isn't right. The faults lie elsewhere, and those faults have divided and conquered us. And I bet our overall feelings to the Venky's, at least on an emotional level, are no different to each others. So... Group hug?! Hopefully I'm not repeating myself... But I would like to see owners that are more involved. For all the mismanagement by the Venky's, I could perhaps stomach it a bit more if they were actually here, getting involved, making decisions, making us feel like we actually have an owner. That's gone on for far too long, although it's worth remembering when they seemed fairly involved right at the beginning, you could argue the decision making was much worse. And what does that say? On the basis alone, I want them out and replaced with owners that are involved more with the club, have their finger on the pulse, and yes, show some care. There is a practical side to it, and I think that's where opinions differ. But that's my general take.
  22. @Vinjay you not agree with this?
  23. Ismael signed up for the project. If they change him then Suhail & Rudy have to indoctrinate a new guy…too much like hard work that, so keep the current guy.
  24. I’ve heard it said on a number of podcasts that loan deals are often structured around the fee being determined by appearances made - so more games, lower loan fee paid. Rovers will no doubt be balancing that given the urge to cut costs everywhere…
  25. Thanks chaps and to Frosty in particular (very handy site that). I was interested in what the league as a whole defines as a firing level of incompetence and how VI compares. These were the points when Championship managers were fired compared to us at the same time. Watford had 5 more points yet they still fired Pezzolano Swansea had 1 more Yet they still fired Sheehan Leicester have 11 more than us now and they fire Cifuentes Southampton had 1 less than us when they fired Still, so virtually level pegging Norwich had 7 less than us, so Manning deserved it! Seems we don't hold our manager to the same level scrutiny. Other boards look to have more of an idea as to how to manage a club - especially when you see they are all ahead of us now.
  26. Weirdly, I have a gut feeling that we are going to win. They weren't any better than us in the cup and I believe that'll be the motivation to drag a result over the line. Yes. I know it won't REALLY happen but I am trying to focus on the wise words of the legendary Kriss Akabusi - PMA. Positive, Mental. Attitude. Therefore, Rovers 4-0 Hull City.
