Rovers's January transfer needs
chaddyrovers replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He said during a podcast during the summer with the Norwegian press. -
Who says he will take Wolves up after they get relegate given its complete rebuild with a new squad need and gelling quickly to get up, plus will the financial support be there to do that? Who knows but promotion on a CV is better than relegation on it. You act like he is great financial difficulty, feck me. Talk about naivety

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas

Where I may have differed from many people over the years was that rather than simply wanting to chase the owners out of town straightaway I thought the ideal scenario would have been to combine their financial clout with proper people running the Club on the ground. I dont have to like the owners, I'm not going to invite them round for dinner or anything, I just want the Club to properly funded to give them a chance of being successful. Unfortunately we never got to the situation where competitive funding married up with competent ambitious people on the ground. Anderson, Singh etc burnt their way through money like it was going out of fashion initially, Waggott and Mowbray wasted the period when they still retained a bit of an interest plodding along feathering their own nests. It was always going to happen that the owners' interest would fizzle out sooner or later and by the time we lucked upon a couple of outstanding candidates in JDT and Eustace, the taps had been well and truly turned off. Out of curiosity, as you dont seem to blame Waggott or Mowbray for anything, then using the same logic do you absolve say Anderson or Coyle from any blame? After all, it's all the owners fault and said people were acting under their auspices and with the tools they'd been given at the time. -

Do the Venkys actually know the real depth of resentment amongst the fans to their Tenure? What info are they being fed at Boardroom and Management level by individuals who are pro Venkys for no other reason than to line their own pockets with money. The self preservation society. All fine Mrs D,nothing to see here...another contract extension my good acolyte! -

No. It was to hit the net without it bouncing. That was our captain. -

With a fully fit Aussie squad and a fully fit English squad, very few of our team make a combined eleven based on the stats. Especially away from home. Therefore it was imperative to focus on and do the basics extremely well. Which we have failed to do spectacularly. Our fitness and concentration has been very poor across all disciplines. Our specialist batting has been pathetic, our fielding and catching atrocious and our bowling lacks consistency, guile, options and penetration. Only Stokes and Root have performed to any sort of par, but we needed much more from both in the abscence of any sort of contribution from the majority. I don't see how this improves for the remaining tests. My only hope is it doesn't totally disintegrate. The Aussies will get better and we will become more tired, demoralised and jaded. From this point on Crawley, Duckett, Pope and Smith are playing for their future. Brook needs to stop believing his own hype. Root and Stokes as usual need to be world class. I am cutting the bowlers some slack as only getting 35 overs rest between innings and trying to constantly defend 150 is depressing watching on tv, let alone trying to pull it off. Yes we were crap before Bazball. Yes we are crap now. And......? Scooping, switch hitting, charging the bowler, driving on the up, hooking, hitting across the line, hitting in the air should all be banned unless youve got 100 on the board, or match curcumstances dictate. And instead of getting pissed on a beach, practice your fucking catching instead. - Today

Ive never said that they shouldnt be criticised. But you have historically deflected from the owners. It isnt in my head as lots of other people have pointed it out over the years. If Waggott was the "architecht" of the downsizing, and what has happened since his departure was because of his work. What happened for over 7 years before he was appointed? If your argument is that the owners dont care and want to pass the blame away to people closer to home. Then surely Suhail would be the architecht, having been here before, during and after Waggott and with seemingly more power. -

That's rich coming from the person who is currently one of the first ones to shoot down any criticism of the Club. You're not wrong with the above statement. However the modus operandi has changed considerably, in the early days they pissed money up the wall like it was going out of fashion. Then bruised by that they went to the other extreme and we're now penny pinching our way into oblivion which was Waggott's MO. -

'Family reasons' all rather convenient at the club that won't extend the contract of anyone and cuts/reduces/offloads wherever possible. Proof will be in the pudding but I'd be surprised if he's playing in the Norwegian league come next year. -
I imagine its to give the U18s the best chance possible to go as far as possible in this competition. Also, despite the hype I don't think at the moment he's anywhere near good enough or ready to he around the first team. It is important to remember he's only 17 years old though.

Im with chaddy on this one. Thought it was a strange move for Edwards to make. Other than a short term boost to his finances, couldnt really see any upside to it and he might end up making himself unemployable in the long run.

Im not deflecting from the owners. That's all in your head. Everything that happens is ultimately the owners responsibility. Im not sure though why you struggle with the concepts that: a) The owners aren't hands on and half the time probably dont have a clue what's going on down at Ewood. They do allow a degree of latitude to those on the ground and let them get on with running (ruining) the Club. b) Generally they employ incompetent people and/ or willing patsys. Just because they are incompetent or compliant doesn't mean they should be absolved from any or all blame as you seem to think nor that they shouldnt be removed if we've to be any hope of being successful. Once again, just for the avoidance of any doubt as you're struggling to grasp it, it's the owners fault for employing this calibre of person and their fault if they fail to remove them. Said people shouldnt be immune to criticism or stay in situ however. -

Could these strategies be outlined further? I do not think everyone is fully aware of why this would follow. -
Agree with that although based on his goal return at PL2 level, his correct current level is the U21s 3 goals in 3 this season 4 goals in 7 last season
-
Im not convinced he would have taken Boro up either way. And certainly, I dont think he would have then attracted a bigger club. I think theres a naivety though about the fact that football management is still a job. They wouldnt do it for free and wont be so flippant about money just because "they arent short of money."

They struggle to score, we struggle to keep clean sheets. Their form isn't great, our away form is good. We struggle to score two. Im predicting a score draw. 1-1. Which is not a lot of use to either of us. We most certainly don't want to lose, nor experience a 96th minute calamity. COYB. -
In my opinion Tyjon was in and around the first team to try to persuade him to sign for us. When this hasn't worked he has been dropped to his correct level.
-
Rather have another promotion on CV and the opportunity to move onto a bigger club than money. You talk like Edwards is short of money. Maybe you are his financial manager the way you talk.

We certainly don't think the owners are part of the solution. However, if certain people leave. We’re very certain the owners will follow. Hardest part is pleasing everyone. We’re trying our best -

He cant (legally speaking at least) sign a pre contract with another English side until the final month of his deal (its the final 6 months of his deal if he went to any other country) Not that I am disputing that he may well end up at another English side
