If Rowett is top of our list then I may have to re-evaluate my assessment of the people running the club in that maybe they aren't totally clueless as to what we need, because I think even if he doesn't enthuse you his CV is probably the most suited to our predicament of all the options out there and it would be unusually sensible for our lot to put that first. I suppose the next question would be whether he would come then. Is he going to sit and be told what he can and can't do by Rudy Gestede? Would he take it until the summer like he did at Birmingham and then see how the land lies? There seems to be an assumption that he would take it, which you would certainly hope he would given his last 2-3 clubs and the manner in which he left Oxford, but he can't really afford to get this next move wrong and I worry he'd tell Rudy and Suhail to 'do one'

Feels like Rowett is the antithesis of what RG was claiming to be looking for in a manager? Thought he was more Eustace than JDT in his approach?

Will be suddenly turn the likes of De Neve and Henriksson into good players? No, of course not. But he will get us organised and competive. He's far superior to Ismael.
-
I have a concern for Rowett, will he improve us? Maybe, but I don't think by much. I suppose he's the best out of a bad bunch, let's hope it's true.

Rowett is a great appointment - best they could have credibly got.
-
I'm not Nixon fan but he's mostly on the ball here with recent events.
-
Not farfetched to believe the club that bans local journalists from the ground would feed said journalist false information to embarrass and discredit him.
-
The best man for the job at present. Welcome Gary.
-
Feel for Jackson but he’s so far out of the loop these days, even on deadline day was wrong with a simple story about a player leaving on loan when it was a perm. I think the club are spiteful enough to ensure he gets the wrong info.
-
Great news on Rowett. Sounds like he's going to be offered the job. The best candidate out there for us and is exactly what we need imo. Nicko knows far more than Jackson so I know who I believe. And tbf to Jackson, he did post that this morning and things have likely moved on since then (he didnt say he wasn't in the running, just no contact had been made at the time of writing)

Rowett now the favourite and could be offered the job but Jackson saying he's not in the frame 🤷♂️

Been strongly linked with the Celtic job in the summer if/when O'Neill finishes.

Amusingly Derby play Ipswich tomorrow. Suppose Sammie shall serve as suspended on Saturday sadly... -
Who knew Robbie Keane was a manager? Moreover one with a 73% and 59% win ratio!?!

I’ve felt for a while it’s Pompey or Charlton we need to get above one of them and we’ll stay up, I expect West Brom will get more results to take them away but hope the former 2 have extended dips in form. Pompey at home is a huge game for us. Expect we end the weekend back in the drop zone with West Brom getting a win tomorrow home to Stoke.

I get it.

G Rover. Who are ya? Who are ya? Who are Ya? Where have you been all these years? Have you had your innoculations? It is rough as a bastard on here, for new folk, ya know.

And that touch of humility, clear affinity for the club and connection to the players is absolute gold dust. I say give DJ the reins, but give him someone to support him who can work alongside him and deal with the unsavoury elements stalking the corridors and hiding behind curtains. It is about time we had someone human and realistic at the wheel. -

Oxford - 27 West Brom - 32 Rovers - 32 Leicester - 32 Pompey - 33 Norwich - 33 Charlton - 36 Swansea - 39 Sheff United - 39 Southampton - 40 Southampton amd Sheff United are looking up, not down and will be ok. Swansea aren't great, but a 7 point buffer as of now should be enough to see them safe. Which leaves 2 from 7. Oxford are playing catch up. I think they are doomed. Which leaves 1 from 6. Norwich and Leicester should have more than enough to stay up, although Norwich have been pretty useless most of the season. Which leaves 1 from 4. Us, West Brom, Pompey and Charlton. We have been in steady decline, West Brom in freefall, Pompey have done well to jump a few places. Charlton remain pretty steady. I'm going to randomly guess that West Brom find somethimg from somwhere. But they better get a move on. That leaves 1 from 3 and Charlton have a four point start on us. And Portsmouth are a nuisance at home. -- Just read that Charlton have lost 9 of their last 15. Drawing 0-0 with QPR just now. -

Im a big fan of DC as we love Initials on here 🤣 . Dave Challinor as I mentioned before. Another interesting one as a 2nd choice for me is RK. RKs doing a cracking job too. Abroad at Ferencvaros. Had a good start to management all be it at clubs hes probably expected to do well at is... Robert Kennedy, Rudyard Kipling, Roy Keane.... No I mean Robbie Keane. DC & RK both up and coming & ambitious. Alot of the other names banded about & on the odds list are nt really inspiring me. I like these two though.
