  1. Past hour
  2. Difference is with the North End scenario is simple they made it known quite a while ago that they were open to selling or taking on investment from the right people. That has never happened here and even if someone had serious interest they'd have to get a direct line into one of the head Rao's otherwise it doesn't get past the various self interested buffer zones. Even then they might get told don't even approach us without 100 million on the table. By the end of this decade we'll be one of the smallest clubs in Lancashire, that should please the 'natural level' brigade.
  3. The battle is to finish about 2 of Oxford, Pompey and Charlton as others said. all 4 of us poor teams, interestingly Charlton are at Leicester for the early kick off Saturday so we’ll go into our game with a chance to go above them with a win or could be starting 6 behind but in turn with the points deduction that could pull Leicester in but they’ll have enough to get back out.
  4. I'd suggest that the identity of the players' agent/agency is the more significant issue here than whether the player is the best we can get. Yes lots of options around in the lower leagues. But is their agent friendly with the regime? If not move on.
  5. He'd have wanted more than 5k a week though and Rudy had already pulled his masterstroke with Gueye.
  6. Lots still don’t get this. The takeover was so corrupt that they simply dare not allow a deep dive into the accounts. It’s the only thing that makes any sense.
  7. Gestede will be contemplating if it was his elbow that he wiped with the Andrex this morning.
  8. You've no more idea than I have, (none) but I'm not sure why you find it that hard to believe, who'd want to keep him on if the Club was taken over?
  9. Not that I'd have been enthused, after he had just scored 7 in 38 in League One. Of course, all that matters is that you get them right in the end. In the summer it wouldn't have screamed bargain though.
  10. Norwich should never have been in such deep trouble - their squad is far too good for that. Manning really screwed up there. I wasn't convinced Clement was the man for the job there, but fair play, he's really turned them around. They're still going strong even with Sargent basically persona-non-grata at the moment. WBA also have a squad that shouldn't really be at the wrong end of the table, but their managerial strategy is questionable. Pretty much just rolling the dice on novices and hoping one will work out. We'll see whether Ramsay is the answer there. Us, Oxford, Portsmouth and Charlton will almost certainly be down there until the bitter end. Only one of the four hasn't been in League One in the recent past, which tells you everything about how Pasha, Gestede and Owen have wrecked us this season.
  11. And to be playing against some godawful Chinese team in a friendly.
  12. Is Carter not back in contention now?
  13. On what do you base this opinion?
  14. He won’t be. Don’t forget, here is a guy that cares so much about Rovers, that he refused to play. Getting us relegated, will not bother him in the slightest. Here we all are, spending out evenings worrying about our club, he won’t have even thought about it tonight. The man is a first class clown.
  15. Championship quality: GK: Toth, Pears DL: Ribeiro, Pickering DR: Alebiouso DC: Carter, Wharton DMC: Trodstadt AML: AMR: Hedgen/Jorgensen MC: Baradji AMC: Cantwell ST: Gudjohnsen Squad's absolutely vile. Pears is back up, We don't play left backs, Carter, Wharton and Hedges out. So that leaves us with seven championship quality players. The rest of the cast are league 1/2 standard. Awful. Of those I've said I think are championship quality- I'm not saying I think they're good or particularly useful. We've no ball carrying players, no pace, no creativity, no strength or guile up top, no aggression, no fight, no cohesion, no obvious pattern of play- well, other than just running around wasting energy "pressing" Ohashi is probably one of the least clinical strikers I've ever seen. The lack of spirit, cohesion etc is there for all to see. Just a shit side full of shit players that have no bond. Great work!
  16. Not feasible, in my opinion
  17. Remember when we were saying Rovers managers whose surname began with "I"
  18. You'd think so wouldn't you? That's how we made big money on Szmodics. Maybe as modest as they might be, the wage demands rule us out.
  19. I had to look twice when I read that post to make sure, it wasn’t a new account. It’s not but the post made is total nonsense.
  20. Aerosmith - I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing
  21. Or perhaps, exactly like the poster said, Pasha blocked the approach.
  22. Predictably both Norwich and Sheffield United make changes, bring in good managers and underperforming players start to haul them out of trouble. So down to the dross now. Us, Pompey, Oxford, Charlton and maybe WBA/Leicester if they continue to sink though I suspect both have enough quality to keep their heads above water.
  23. It's going to be the lamest stumble to the line in many a year. Out of the five sides realistically vying for the last two relegation spots - they have four wins between them in each of their last five games. Twenty five games! Portsmouth have two wins from the last five games Charlton have one Oxford have one Us and WBA have none. It wouldn't take much for one team to get out of trouble and if we sacked VI and got a bit of a bounce it could make all the difference. Still think we'll go unless we sack Ismael. Couldn't really pick the next worst out of that lot.
  24. It isn't difficult to work out.
  25. There are gems in the lower divisions. The lad that Ipswich are about to buy from Bristol (I think) came from L1 also. Based on how poor most of the Gestede foreign gambles have been, surely we could have picked up a few unpolished diamonds from L1/L2?
