  1. Past hour
  2. I think its fair to have question marks over both, based on what we can ascertain. Tavares has very little senior experience and struggled to maintain a place in a mid table Portugese league team. He made 15 league starts, completed only 2 full games and theyve sold him a year after joining. We need attacking players who can help us to score more goals, on the face of it, De Neve doesnt have a track record that suggests he can help to rectify that. A versatile left sided player who was often played at full back, and has minimal goals or assists. Belgian journalists seem a bit surprised that a Championship side has come in for him. He has more senior experience than Tavares but doesnt seem to have pulled up any trees. Equally, to say they "are not good enough" seems totally unfounded and unfair. They are both quite young, and it may depend on what role they are expected to play. Seems a huge step up based on what they have done before to expect them to be regular starters on paper. We need to either keep hold of our key core of players or directly replace any departures.
  3. That was my thinking sonny was pushed a little further up but got the angle I guess
  4. Van Morrison - Talk Is Cheap
  5. Would think we've probably given Moreirense their money back and promised more if he comes come and we win the PL and Champions' League!!! Perhaps this guy is our Leopold Wahlstedt!!! Chaddy you just don't get it do you? They have more than likely been spun a huge dose of bullsh1t and 'favours' have been called in! Why not trust sporting journalists - are you kidding everyone on here!?!?!? From what I have read about this lad and seen in the odd clip he is NOT THE BOX TO BOX Ismael wants and will be a piss poor replacement for either Travis or Tronstadt if and when they leave. De Neve and Sid, IMO, are not ready or good enough for the Championship. Carry on with signing players like this whilst losing the likes of Brittain, Batth, Travis and Tronstad and we will be done for by Christmas.
  6. And the 'spotting' of the likes of Nzonzi and Samba 20 or so years ago, would most likely have been done the old school way. ie watching the players in person, rather than sat behind a desk.
  7. When you need one of those two to get up with and beyond the strikers occasionally- heโ€™s right. Having said that Tronstad was getting more forward towards the end of last season.
  8. Any thoughts on the difference between then and now, those doing the spotting? Maybe, just maybe, that might have a y'know influence on the liklihood of these signings being successful.
  9. 'Support' more than one team? In my world, that is inconceivable.
  10. Jimmy Anderson will captain Lancashire tomorrow in the county championship
  11. We need to get moving on a centre half or two, as things stand we only have Hyam and Carter who are senior players with Wharton still not being ready.
  12. You've gone from 'we will never fill Ewood again' to 'We will never fill Ewood again under these current owners'. Perhaps you should have said that in the first place.
  13. They are owners and could be for the next 40 years. None of us know but We will never Ewood Park regular under this ownership and stand by that. Odd game yes but not regular Work for Starmer? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Not in millions years.
  14. https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/globalgame/on-this-day-november-.html Reminds me of Nasser Hussain at the Gaba.... Hussainโ€™s decision to insert Australia on a flat track in Brisbane that sunny Thursday morning has become the thing of cricketing legend - a bottomless cup of mockery from which his broadcasting colleagues still sip today.
  15. And you will used every opportunity to downplay any investment in the squad. 2 journalists have had reported a similar fee so why not trust them? They have inside information whilst don't.
  16. Trav and Tronstadt a negative pairing ๐Ÿซค
  17. โ€˜A loan however might not be beyond the realms of possibilityโ€™ Iโ€™m arguing that for this particular player in question it would be way beyond the realms of possibility for rovers
  18. Have you watched full games? Or just YouTube highlights or stats on paper?
  19. So you're now caveating your original statement with reference to our current owners as to the reason why '...we will never fill Ewood again'. And that with better owners we could indeed fill the stadium. Do you work for Starmer?
  20. Support is a very loose term.
  21. From memory we were looking at a RB for cover/competition with Brittain. Should we land one, I think JRC is gone.
  22. I didnโ€™t disagree until you mentioned FFP. We have plenty of room with FFP. We just have billionaire owners that wonโ€™t spend. However of course we need to sell assets and re-invest the money, but the model will only work if you spend a significant portion of what you bring in on the right blend of players. You canโ€™t fully rely on kids and the unproven. You mention Baath, but that was quality experience. That has to be part of the plan. You mention Brittain but he was a 24 year old with proven League experience who cost over a million. No problem with that. If you blend those sort of players with kids and cheap prospects then the model has a chance. You are relying on holding your players to contract and selling for peak market value, and also recruiting the correct players in the categories above. Thatโ€™s where you need the right DOF and scouting team. We can get anyone tied to a contract atm, and the recruiting in January was woeful for the position we were in.
  23. New merch Classic Blue? A sign of the anniversary shirt perhaps
  24. Buckley on way out? Garrett too assuming. jrc needed as right back cover.. Someone who can carry ball/be more creative in cm is very needed in certain games for us, trav and tronstad can be a bit of a negative pairing. Whether this guy can do it well enough is to be seen.
