Amateurs tend to do things with care and respect. They also tend to put in a lot of effort. Rovers certainly couldn't be described as either amateur or professional. I would describe them as corporate.

No. No it isn't.

Venky’s (& Suhail) Out Protest Ideas
oneandycrawford replied to DuffsLeftPeg's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That seems to me a huge difference. I would love the Venkys to be gone as the club will continue to decline if they stay. But they do meet their financial obligations to both the authorities and employees of the club. Lots of clubs (and other organisations) don't invest and many treat their employees badly - Man Utd, P&O, etc. So although we, as fans of the club, know what is going on, the wider football fan base doesn't see the problem in the same way as they view the Sheffield Weds situation. Did we display much support for Big Club, Coventry, etc. when they had their ownership issues? - Today

Some of what I have read makes it seem like the "family" club is being totally destroyed to be more like boot camp? There's good and bad in that but reading the names Garner, Faz, Sir Rog makes me feel perhaps more bad than good -

Of course you're always gonna get people that don't have any backroom knowledge, ones that simple arent interested in that and people that are new, which is what I think half our fan base has now become -

Have you listen to Elliott Jackson's podcast on this? On Elliott Jackson podcast, he said Ismael and Gestede were big fans on Baradji and even after medical problems they want him. - Yesterday

Ipswich didnt really see him play though, no slight on him, it seemingly was an opportunistic temporary deal to bolster the squad but Morsy and Luongo at the time were outstanding. Plus they are about to sign their second midfielder of the summer for £10m. They are fishing above that. -

Fickle? You're not kidding, he's gone from captain of the rubber dinghy men to irreplaceable. -
None of that warrants hatred, 4 years on, especially when much of those things are speculation on your part. McGinn went to Villa the summer we wanted him. I think you are confusing that with Reed who he played wide. Perhaps the wrong decision, but something that should warrant frustration at the time, no more. My recommendation would be not to watch that podcast, purely for your own health.

I wonder why? At the time there were rumours that there was a midfielder lined up to join us, but he was discouraged because Mowbray said he'd have to wait in line behind Evans and Smallwood and learn how they played etc. There were also rumours that that midfielders name was John Mcginn. How ridiculous does that sound now? But that's how ridiculous things were under Mowbray, ditto him giving Ben Gladwin a new deal purely so he could recuperate from injury, ditto him stockpiling players to the extent he had 14 midfielders to choose from at one point. You could go on and on.

It’s interesting that even after Morsy left in the summer Ipswich didn’t make a move for Travis. You would have thought he may have been on their radar if he was rated during the loan spell there. -
I dont even understand why you even would put yourself through it such is your irrational hatred of him.
-
Has he done anything to warrant that name beyond taking a job at your beloved United?
-
His quote in the LT at the time was that he had to "calm the owners down". I havent had time to watch this latest podcast yet but at the time he gave the impression he actively discouraged them from investing further.

The word Legend is thrown around far too easily for sub par players these days. He did a job but wasn't exactly anything special. Might miss his leadership / shit housing but if its true that he refused to play/train then there is no coming back from that. We'll never know the full details of what goes on behind the scenes. Players come and go which is why one should never get attached to them. End of the day we are Rovers supporters (but these owners make it bloody hard to be). The era of players bleeding for a single club are long gone with the money that is involved these days. Here's hoping the new signings do a job. -

Just a bit, last Friday it was all doom and gloom. Rudy and Suhail were the devils' incarnate. One really good win and one promising looking signing on the right wing later and all of a sudden Travis was always crap and this new strategy might actually be the way to go etc. etc. And the plastic snake manufacturers will no doubt have a beano in November. I mean, we dont even know if Travis's replacement, Baradji, is fit , or out for a lengthy period and if the latter, how long for. The fickleness of the football fan. It works both ways. -

I agree with this wholeheartedly but I don’t think there’s any point in supporting Rovers anymore if all thoughts related to the club cannot be separated to the depressing ownership scenario. I don’t need a daily reminder for how bad they’ve been either.
