  1. Past hour
  2. We didn't want him originally, what's changed?
  3. Forshaw signing back is underwhelming. He Still got the nod to see games out before Buckley and JRC. If both the latter are sold and another Midfielder comes in then I can see the logic. But this is Rovers
  4. I think we are going to be relegated!
  5. In isolation, Forshaw for an extra year isn’t a bad signing. He actually looked decent in patches late on in the season. He’s a good player to bring on as he’s composed on the ball. He also wasn’t half as bad as people made out and I’m sure with a good pre-season behind him he’ll look sharper still. The problem is if he is a direct replacement for either Trav or Tron. In that context it’s just another cost-cutting exercise, but on a an even bigger level of stupidity. We’ll see how the CM positions look at the end of the window to see the context.
  6. We can easily offer estimates, or a view on the potential earnings those players can obtain here and elsewhere. All that stuff is readily available online. Like turnover to wage ratios, income levels, season ticket prices / numbers etc “Defending the club” is always the bollox that comes back when anyone offers anything that might be an external factor, like for example a player trying to maximise their income in a short career. Just read Preston’s chairmans recent comments; https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25245597.preston-chief-hits-unfair-issue-affecting-blackburn/ Thats not offering up excuses as to why our turnover is still dog shit, and not increasing enough due to a lack of decent backroom management. It’s not offering an excuse as to why managers walk out the door into teams in the relegation places.
  7. even the lemons on facebook and the let can`t defend resigning forshaw,it`s an act of a club in it`s death throes and a confirmed indication that there won`t be any money spent on anyone i wonder if val is aware about it????
  8. Classic Bizzle. Always has to announce his his return, then announces his departure straight after. How’s that flex going by the way?
  9. Forshaw is actually younger than both Weimann and Batth. As a squad depth option on a cheap deal who will mentor/fill in, its not the worst. It isn't exactly inspiring though!
  10. Lowest hanging fruit stuff. Truly tragic but totally expected. If they weren't still trying, and failing, to shift more season tickets it would be funny. They long ago gave up on any pretence of ambition or targeting quality signings so instead they're resorting to trying to exploit family ties/traditions as reasons for why people should hand over more cash to the regime.
  11. Forshaw. What a fucking joke. Chaddy?
  12. You asked me a question neither of us could possibly answer either way. We clearly arent offering competitive Championship wages for this to be a continued running theme. But the main issue is the lack of proactivity. Why are we still to offer actual contracts for players with such little time remaining on their deals? Why has there been an 18 month lull? Occasionally some players will outgrow us, but in that case ie Brereton and Rothwell, you have to sell and reinvest. Dolan, I think he would have signed had we been proactive. Now, not gonna happen especially as his stock has grown and his deal has been allowed to expire.
  13. Fucking shite Forshaw is absolutely wank.
  14. It's because Trav or Tronstad are off and he's the replacement.
  15. Forshaw for another year. As expected but an underwhelming addition (or whatever we're calling it). A serious lack of ambition runs through this club.
  16. I ask you one question and you come back with a boring old BRFCS insult. That’ll teach me for signing in.
  17. I'll start. Absolute fucking joke. The one area where we probably should be looking at academy players (4th or 5th choice backup) and we are signing up a guy who was generally piss poor after being brought in off the Plymouth scrap heap.
  18. Some of them might not, I am not saying they all would. But the club isnt proactive even in offering contracts. Dolan got offered one in the Broughton days, not even been offered a proper one since. Travis and Tronstad, even now, just talks with their representatives. I suspect you are only defending the club on this to go against the grain.
  19. 🍿 I'm just here for the comments.
  20. Re Pears - just adding my thoughts, it was never simply the Wigan gaffe that caused my own dislike of him, it is the constant nervousness he passes on to the defence, especially under pressure. Especially when JDT made him have the most touches per game after dropping Kaminski, a horrible time to watch rovers. I had empathy with Pears, he should’ve never been in that situation but that might also be down to my hatred of this modern trend in football for the keeper to be basically a sweeper. The run of games with the fuckup vs Sheffield Wednesday. Seasons all blend into one for me nowadays, so I’m not sure what season it was - I particularly remember that goal he concedes vs Preston at home was just typical weak arse goalkeeping. No personality and I can’t see him getting better. It’s early days with Toth but Id go that way as I personally see far more potential.
  21. Phenomenal job by Pears to keep them out though given that's his usual challenge when goalkeeping
  22. As we all expected, probably after realising that actual quality costs money, we give Forshaw another year. A player we released but all predicted would return. Not good enough. I did enjoy this line, playing us for fools: He becomes Rovers’ second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Belgian winger Dion De Neve earlier this month.
  23. Foreshaw signed on for another year. Forgive my excitement, it's hard to control myself.
  24. You tell us the kind of contract you think Dolan, Brereton, Rothwell, Lenihan would’ve signed.
