  1. Past hour
  2. And again just stating that I find it funny how we have went full circle on him that’s all your overthinking my post
  3. Glen has just posted on X. Can this beautiful club get any lower under these Wankers? Absolutely lower than a snakes belly. I despise them.
  4. It happens though. Sometimes a player comes in with little evidence that he will be a good and he will considerably exceed expectations. And sometimes a player comes in who is a big name or has done well in the past and be crap here. If people arent convinced by a player, they shouldnt be told not to judge until he has played for us. Judge away positively or negatively, as long as you are flexible to say when you get it wrong. You could easily say it shows how well Batth has done that hes massively exceeded expectations rather than it being a case of dont say anything negative. He could barely get a kick at another Championship club and was already well into his 30s, those concerns werent illogical or invalid just because thankfully he went on to do really well for us.
  5. If they've gone with that then it really does show just how lazy they are. There's no real evidence that the club wore a Maltese cross. That comes from a book that was written about football in general years after the foundation of the club. Numerous sources closer to the time mentioning that we wore the famous blue and white from the very beginning with no mention of a Maltese cross. Given there's a debate as to whether the initial foundation of the club was 1874 or 1875, there's a lot we don't know about the very early days. With the level of effort that they put into everything else they've no doubt just gone on that historic football shirt website and taken that as gospel.
  6. Been ruthless this seasons end with very few offered fresh terms. There’s a few more like. Buckley and JRC to get off the books as they didn’t feature much last season. Could clearly see the ones VI didn’t have confidence in. Side needs refreshing and we can’t just hold on to players who can’t even compete for a place. Latest windows have been a failure but got a feeling we will refresh a lot this summer. Won’t spend a lot but think we will get a few permanent signings in
  7. I'm sorry if I have missed something? We are not tying down our better players, buying some no mark from Belgium for 600k, and looking forward to 150 years. Give me a break!
  8. Then technically no player is or can be written off until their career is over and in that case it’s not written off it’s a conclusion or evaluation of their career it wasn’t supposed to start a mass debate tbh I just found it funny that some of the same poster who this time last year didn’t want batth near the club are fuming he isn’t getting a 2 year deal now nothing more nothing less than an observation
  9. We dont know if they are aligned or not. I suspect if we have to lose key players having not offered new deals that Ismael wont be too happy.
  10. Good appointment by Spurs. Frank is outstanding coach. United should have appointed him 12 months ago
  11. Under 21's showing the seniors how to play and control the ball
  12. Very good to see the home shirt on sale so early in the summer, looking forward to seeing what design they come up with. Also like the offer from the club about STH seeing the shirt the day before and on sale to them the day before
  13. Dion brings pace wide and Ismael he can play either side. Let's see what Dion has got Agreed there. Ismael and Gestede are align with what we want transfer wise
  14. To write someone off would be final. To say that you dont agree with a signing is not writing someone off if they then do well and you praise them. If people were saying now that Batth has been a shit signing despite his performances then that would prove that you did write them off and nothing could change your mind. I mean its not true that im negative about every signing. But even if I was, that isnt writing players off. Also, this only works one way. Take Cantwell, I was all for him signing, he had a poor season but no one ever goes back and says you shouldnt assume a singing will be good before theyve played.
  15. Important not to write Gestede off either, let's see what he's got. Main thing for me is that he and Ismael are on the same page regarding transfers. We can't afford another head coach throwing his toys out the pram over recruitment.
  16. Have a feeling, based on absolutely nothing factual, that Batth will stay and it's already been agreed - but the club are planting the seeds of doubt in the local media. So when the new contract is announced, they can spin it as a huge achievement.
  17. Today
  18. He’s on board with the latest version of the project, they love that in the corridors of power at Ewood. He’ll soon get fucked off with it all if he’s got anything about him.
  19. Indeed, we saw it first hand with Mulgrew, who was younger than Batth when his legs went. A year with an option is reasonable from the club's perspective.
  20. If he was French and Rudy’s mate he’d be getting his two years. I still think it’s under-discussed that we gave Ismael, a manager on the scrap heap, a longer contract in 3.5 years than Mowbray, JDT or Eustace were brought in on. This at a time when money is completely dried up.
  21. Batth turns 35 in a couple of months. Although I want him to stay, and his influence will be felt both on and off the pitch, I don't think the club should really be offering a 2 year deal. 1 year with an option would be better, if he'll agree to it. Difficult tbh, no reason he couldn't play for 2 more years, also his legs could go over night and we're landed with him for another season (or more)
  22. On that form surely nobody comes close to beating you!
  23. Roversfan99 writes everyone off before they pull on a shirt, then gets defensive when it’s pointed out. It’s a story as old as time.
  24. Anyone saying it's a no brainer to give Batth the 2 years he apparently wants have short memories - we gave Ayala 3 years and the club was burnt by it. Granted Ayala's injury record was worse before joining but generally, a semi-serious injury in your mid thirties could see it very difficult to get back to anywhere near the level you are. I want him to sign on though, hopefully they're offering a second year based on an appearance-based clause.
  25. So what would you call saying ‘don’t need him’ ‘not good enough for Norwich not good enough for us’ ‘too old’ ‘too slow’ and similar comments - that’s writing him off is it not and if it’s not then I don’t know what writing someone off entails then
